Anne Graham Lotz Issues an Urgent Warning About the Upcoming Solar Eclipse - Anne Graham Lotz - https://www.charismanews.com/opinion/66879-anne-graham-lotz-issues-an-urgent-warning-about-the-upcoming-solar-eclipse
The sun will be turned to darkness ... before the great and awe-inspiring day of the Lord comes" (Joel 2:31).
A few years ago, I was teaching through the book of Joel when the ancient words of his prophecy came up off the page. I knew with hair-raising certainty that God's severe judgment was coming on America! I have taught Joel several times since. Each time has served to confirm with deep conviction that God is warning America of impending disaster and destruction.
In light of Ezekiel 33:1-6 that commands a watchman to be faithful to warn others of the danger coming against the land, I feel compelled to issue the warning once again. The warning is triggered by the total solar eclipse of Aug. 21, 2017, nicknamed "America's Eclipse." For the first time in almost 100 years, a total solar eclipse will be seen from coast to coast in our nation. People are preparing to mark this significant event with viewing parties at exclusive prime sites. The celebratory nature regarding the eclipse brings to my mind the Babylonian King Belshazzar, who threw a drunken feast the night the Medes and Persians crept under the city gate. While Belshazzar and his friends partied, they were oblivious to the impending danger. Belshazzar wound up dead the next day, and the Babylonian empire was destroyed.
Jewish rabbis have historically viewed solar eclipses as warnings from God to Gentile nations. Therefore, my perspective on the upcoming phenomenon is not celebratory. While no one can know for sure if judgment is coming on America, it does seem that God is signaling us about something. Time will tell what that something is.
Please view the following video posted by Australian pastor Steve Cioccolanti. Pastor Steve articulates the warning in a very clear, undeniable, yet undogmatic way based on his understanding of biblical truth.
Please be assured that balancing God's warning is His plea for us to return to Him and rend our hearts in sincere, heartfelt repentance. I can almost hear the tears in Joel's voice as he pleads for us to repent and return to God, because "Who knows? He might turn aside and relent, and He might leave behind a blessing" (Joel 2:14a).
Regardless of whether or not the conjecture regarding America's eclipse is accurate, we know our nation and our world is in turmoil. Without doubt, this is the time for God's people to get right with God. To repent of our own sin. To share the gospel with our neighbors. And to pray that in the midst of His coming wrath, God would remember mercy (Hab. 3:2).
Stunner! Eclipse aligns with biblical day of repentance - http://www.wnd.com/2017/08/stunner-eclipse-aligns-with-biblical-day-of-repentance/
Pastor: This is a direct warning to American church
For centuries, one particular day has signified repentance for God's people. It had deep meaning for Jonah, Moses and Jesus Christ.
And this year, Aug. 21 - the first of Elul on the biblical calendar - contains a critical message for American Christians, as it will be the date of a total solar eclipse that will traverse the entire United States.
A coincidence? Not likely, contended pastor Mark Biltz in a recent appearance on the "The Jim Bakker Show."
"We are about to enter the month of Elul," Biltz said. "And it just so happens that Elul was the month of repentance. It was on Elul 1 that Jonah left for 40 days to tell Nineveh to repent. It was on Elul 1 that Moses went up to Mt. Sinai after the sin of the Golden Calf, trying to make atonement while Israel was repenting for that. It was on Elul 1 Jesus went out into the wilderness for 40 days, coming out on Yom Kippur. Elul 1 starts the month of repentance and to have the solar eclipse happening at this time, it is of huge significance!"
Biltz, the discoverer of the "Blood Moons" phenomenon and the author of the new book "God's Day Timer," said he believes the solar eclipse falling on the first day of the month of repentance has meaning for believers.
"I believe this is a warning, that we need to take the lead!" he said. "As believers, God is telling us this starts first with us. And we need to repent.
"We, as the church, have 40 days to really repent, just like Abraham. He was interceding for Sodom and Gomorrah, trying to find 10 righteous men among them. I don't know how many righteous [men] are needed for America."
According to Jewish tradition, Biltz explained, because Gentiles go by the sun for their calendar, a solar eclipse represents judgment coming upon a non-Jewish nation, whereas a lunar eclipse, because Jews use a lunar calendar, represents judgment coming upon Israel.
And one of the best-known solar eclipses in history had a terrible message for the West.
"One thing I will mention, most people don't mention it now, World War I started in August of 1914 and there was a total solar eclipse over Eastern Europe and the Ottoman Empire," Biltz said. "And what happens? You have this total solar eclipse, the beginning of World War I, the Ottoman Empire is destroyed. It even went over Nineveh, the same place as where Jonah was."
The date of that eclipse? The same as the upcoming one - Aug. 21.
Biltz explained God often "prepares the ground" before judgment and the opportunity for repentance.
"Most people don't even know the story of Jonah except from the Bible," he said. "God was preparing the ground before Jonah went. Did you know there was a plague? They found these cuneiform tablets talking about Syrian history, and they said there was a major plague three years before Jonah came. That was followed by a civil war: Maybe they were blaming each other for the plague in Nineveh. That was followed by another plague. And NASA records this, one of the most famous eclipses in all history, called the Bur-Sagle eclipse. It happened, this total solar eclipse over Nineveh, a month before Jonah came.
"Jonah comes and he says repent. Well, that's why they were so willing to repent! They've already suffered from a major plague, a civil war, another plague, a total solar eclipse over Nineveh. Now obviously, they didn't receive judgment because they repented. It didn't happen for a while. I never set dates or anything. But what I do say is look at events that happen on God's calendar so you know if it's God who is speaking or not and then hopefully we repent and judgment is stayed."
Biltz referenced 1 Chronicles 12:32, which speaks of the children of Issachar, "those who had an understanding of the times."
"They were on God's calendar," Biltz said. "So my question to all of you is what time is it? Do we know what time it is right now?"
Biltz will explain the "signs of the times" to help believers know "what time it is" on the 2017 Alaska Cruise, beginning Sept 8. He will teach on the biblical feasts and the biblical calendar. WND Founder Joseph Farah will also be a featured speaker.
When Biltz returns, it will be just in time for another "sign in the sky."
"In Luke 21:25, Jesus says there will be signs in the sun and the moon and the stars," Biltz told Bakker. "And what do we have? We have solar eclipses, lunar eclipses and the Revelation 12 sign in the heavens!"
Revelation 12 speaks of a "great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars."
Biltz argues this refers to an astronomical development that will take place on Sept. 23.
In a separate interview, Biltz explained the sign: "The woman clothed with the sun is the constellation Virgo and represents the nation of Israel. The 12 stars represent the 12 tribes of Israel. Interestingly, the constellation Leo, the Lion, which is above Virgo, is made up of nine stars. The Lion represents specifically the tribe of Judah. It just so happens this year during the Days of Awe, three planets will join the constellation Leo making up 12 stars. Virgo will be clothed with the sun, and the moon will be under her feet, fulfilling this sign to precise detail!"
Biltz will be interviewed about this further astonishing development for the television show "The Sign," which examines the remarkable astronomical arrangement. "The Sign" will air on AUDIENCE network on Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
But what does it all mean? As Biltz told Bakker, everything that is happening isn't so much a message to the world as to God's church.
"God wants His church to repent," he said. "Just like you're (Bakker) talking about. I saw this in the news the other day, I thought this was fascinating, Google this, they say the exact path of the solar eclipse across the United States voted 95 percent for Trump. And the fascinating thing for me is, God is not interested so much in wanting the heathen to repent as He is in wanting the church to repent. Judgment always begins with the House of God."
ApocEclipse Now - Wendy Wippel -
Eclipse mania in the U.S., for the first time in 99 years, most Americans are within striking distance of areas that will witness a total eclipse. What is not, unfortunately, rare is the simultaneous emergence of the doom and gloom prophets eager to proclaim that this eclipse, for sure, is a sign of the apocalypse. A sure sign of an imminent onset of the Tribulation.
Ann Graham Lotz; "The celebratory nature regarding the eclipse brings to my mind the Babylonian King Belshazzar who threw a drunken feast the night the Medes and Persians crept under the city gate. While Belshazzar and his friends partied, they were oblivious to the impending danger. Belshazzar wound up dead the next day, and the Babylonian empire was destroyed."
Lotz added, "While no one can know for sure if judgment is coming on America, it does seem God is signaling us about something..."
Rachel Baxter, owner of the Z3 website, says, "I know without doubt that the eclipse of August 21st that cuts across America is incredibly significant. Jewish tradition holds that a total solar eclipse is a sign of judgment and a warning to the gentiles. America is the greatest gentile nation in history and we are facing judgment".
Mark Blitz, in an interview with World Net Daily, called the eclipse a sure sign of judgement. Bob 'O Dell, because the total eclipse would encompass the North pole, said the eclipse is "likely a general message (of Judgement) from God to the entire world". Oh. Never Mind. Strike that.
Those two were the last eclipse. Only a partial one that could be seen only in Northern Europe.
And that's the problem. Every time there is an eclipse Or other unusual arrangements of heavenly bodies, or seeming coincidences with respect to meaningful dates in Christianity or Judaism and heavenly bodies, a chorus of condemnation and catastrophe is generally unleashed. Against sinners in general. Against Jews. And against the body of Christ, as punishment for sin.
Unleashed by Christians themselves, who should know better, for two reasons.
First because we are all- Jews Christians, and sinners (basically just a collection of the first two categories are all still sinners).
Some of us are cleansed by His blood.
The second reason?
The Scriptures used the phrase "signs in the heavens" three times. And none of them have anything to do with impending judgment of sinners.
None of them.
Jeremiah 10:2-3: This is what the Lord says: "Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the heavens, though the nations are terrified by them.."
Basically a condemnation of astrology.
Daniel 6:27 "He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens."
A statement of God's care and benevolence.
John 14:15-26: I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also on the servants and on the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. and I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come. And it shall come to pass, that whoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD has said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
A promise of salvation and deliverance to all Jews and Gentiles who call on the name of the Lord.
Please understand that I am not saying that God does not use the heavenly lights-the moon, the stars, and the planets to speak to us. He does. The magi followed an unusual star or conjunction of some sort right to the newborn Messiah's manger. The sky is a palette on which God speaks to man.
But there is little justification (none, in my view), for speaking judgement on anybody because of what is really a very common event.
Impending, as it is on our own turf not withstanding.
Here's the bigger issue. You may remember that there was an eclipse that occurred in conjunction with a pretty big event in the life of the Messiah.
The last event in his life, actually. His death.
The book of Matthew records that while Jesus was on the cross, there was an eclipse;
Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour. About the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lima[h] sabachthani?" That is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"[i]
That eclipse was a heavenly event that marked the biggest turning point in all of history. One that offered eternal life, not death. Life. Not death. One that poured out the love of the God of Heaven to all that would receive Him.
To those who believed in His name.
I guess that's my problem with the doomslinging faithful. The goal of our instruction is love.
"Now the goal of our instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith." 1 Timothy 1:5
What if the Christian world spent more time sharing forgiveness to a fallen world then we do standing in judgement?
Will we ever have a chance to find out?
Eclipse as 40 Days of Repentance Begin Signals "End of Era" for America, Warns Rabbi - By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz -
"This is Hashem's doing; it is marvelous in our sight." Psalms 118:23 (The Israel Bible)
A rare confluence of conflicting elemental forces may appear next Monday off the coast of America, when a rare hurricane is expected to hit the north Atlantic precisely as the shadow of a total solar eclipse passes overhead. A prominent End-of-Days expert sees this as a powerful last-ditch wake-up call for America, with an especially chilling message for American Jews.
The solar eclipse next week is expected to appear over Oregon in the northwest United States at 9:06 AM on Monday, and will work its way southeast in a diagonal path, passing over the South Carolina coast at around 4:06 PM. The shadow will then continue on out to sea, heading south over the Atlantic.
Solar eclipses cause unusually high tides in coastal regions. Right now, clouds are forming that may form into a significant hurricane on Monday, stirring up the waters of the Atlantic directly under the solar eclipse.
"This is precisely what happened before the flood of Noah,"said Rabbi Pinchas Winston, an end-of-days expert and prolific author on the subject. "The Midrash (Talmud) states that God sent unusual weather before the flood in order to rouse the people to do tshuva (repent)."
Rabbi Winston explained that nature is an aspect of God referred to in Judaism as 'Elohim' and unusual natural phenomenon contain divine messages. Next week's mix of darkness and raging storm is indeed rare. The last time solar eclipse appeared over a hurricane in the Atlantic was in 1959. The last time a solar eclipse traversed the United States was 99 years ago.
"God uses nature to nudge us along, to trigger us to decide. Any occurrence that is outside of the norm is intended to make people think, each in his own way. People of faith can become stronger in their while secular people can become more so," Rabbi Winston told Breaking Israel News.
He explained that the nations of the world are represented by the sun and the Talmud singles out a solar eclipse as a bad omen for non-Jews.
"This is the end of an era for America," said Rabbi Winston. "The righteous Christians still have salvation within America. They are getting the wake up call that they are about to go through a very difficult time. It is a call for tshuva."
The timing of the eclipse certainly points towards a call for repentance. The eclipse will end just a few hours before the Hebrew month of Elul begins, initiating a forty-day period of repentance culminating in the holy day of Yom Kippur, the most somber day of the Jewish calendar, when tradition holds that God completes his judgement of the world and closes the Book of Life.
The forty days between the first day of Elul and Yom Kippur correspond to the 40 days that Moses spent repenting to God for Israel on Mount Sinai. During those 40 days, the Jewish people blow the shofar daily and recite special pre-dawn penitential prayers known as slichot (forgiveness).
Rabbi Winston emphasized that the eclipse wake-up call bears a different message for American Jews.
"Once this era is over and God decides that the purpose of Jews in America is over, even the righteous Jews will not have any protection," warned Rabbi Winston. He explained that this was a recurring pattern in the history of the Jews in exile.
"When an era ended in Spain and Portugal, the countries suffered, but ultimately they recovered," Rabbi Winston said. "But for the Jews of Spain and Portugal, it was the end. The same happened in Germany, and every other country that has ever hosted the Jews."
"This eclipse is the final wake-up call for the American Jews to come to Israel," Rabbi Winston said.
Astronomical phenomenon are often discussed in Jewish literature as accompanying the Messiah. Rabbi Winston is the latest in a series of prominent rabbis who have speculated on the spiritual implications of the upcoming rare astral event. Rabbi Yosef Berger cited a 100-year old prophecy warning that a solar eclipse occurring on the eve of Elul warns of disaster for "Kings of the East", while Rabbi Lazar Brody explained the eclipse as a warning to America against normalizing Biblically immoral behaviors.
