Prophecy Clock moving with Turkey's actions - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com
While Americans are wrapped around the axel of daily political drama, the prophecy clock is moving forward in the Middle East. Many Christian Americans tend to examine prophecy from a Western-centric, non-Jewish worldview, when in reality, prophecy's timepiece is Israel and how it is impacted by those neighboring nations found and emanating from the table of nations in Genesis 10. For example, Noah's grandsons from Japheth-Gomer, Magog, Meshech, Tubal are specifically mentioned in the end time prophecy of Ezekiel 38 as part of a coalition led by Gog of Magog against Israel. All these nations are located in what is now modern Turkey. And Turkey is making some prophetic news today.
Three recent events by Turkey's leadership may have an impact on moving prophecy forward. First, Turkey's "president" Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has attained near dictatorial powers in Turkey, on July 23 visited Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to defuse tensions in the region over Qator's fostering ties with Shiite Iran. Erdogan seeks to position himself as the region's powerbroker, patron and peacemaker, counterbalancing Iran. Then on July 25, he proclaimed that all Muslims should visit and protect Jerusalem. He was referring to the Temple Mount where he accused Israeli Jews of "attempting to take the Mosque from Muslim hands on the pretext of fighting terrorism." Then Sunday, July 30, Erdogan organized thousands in Istanbul to protest Israel's Temple Mount actions and to show solidarity with the "Palestinian" people.
This could be a type and shadow of Daniel 8. In Daniel 8:19, Gabriel says, "Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be. The ram which you saw having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia. And the rough goat is the king of Grecia." Strong's Concordance interprets the word "Grecia" in Hebrew as "Yavan, a son of Japheth (the third son of Noah)," his descendants and their land." The Genesis 10 table of nations indicates this area was not only Greece (as Bible interpretations imply), but also the Eastern Mediterranean, including key parts of today's Turkey.
Gabriel's interpretation of Daniel's vision of "what shall be in the last end" and "for at the time appointed the end shall be" is clearly an end-time prophecy, which, therefore, could not have been completely fulfilled by Alexander the Great and his generals as is widely taught. These events are yet to occur for the little horn (antichrist) to rise to power. Currently, Iran has control over much of Iraq and Syria. Turkey is challenging that control through ISIS and pressure from its allies, including the US and European Union. For Ezekiel 38 and Daniel 8 to be fulfilled, Iran must come into alignment with Iran submitting to Turkey's leadership against Israel. Erdogan is continuously positioning Turkey for such a role, as recent events demonstrate. Despite all the political turmoil in the US, these prophetic types and shadows are advancing.
Hezbollah takes over north east border of Lebanon -
Hezbollah took most of the barren, mountainous zone of Jroud Arsal last week.
A convoy of buses was deployed on Monday to transport Nusra Front militants and refugees from Lebanon's border region to Syria in exchange for Hezbollah prisoners.
Under a local ceasefire between the Lebanese Shi'ite group and the Sunni militants, about 9,000 fighters and their relatives would leave for rebel territory in Syria on Monday, a Hezbollah media unit had said.
The Nusra Front was al-Qaeda's Syria branch until it severed ties and rebranded last year. It now spearheads the Tahrir al-Sham Islamist alliance in the Syrian war.
The deal includes the departure of all Nusra militants from Lebanon's northeast border region around Arsal town, along with any civilians in nearby refugee camps who wish to leave.
Hezbollah took most of the barren, mountainous zone of Jroud Arsal last week, after launching an offensive with the Syrian army to drive militants from their last foothold along the border.
The next phase is expected to target a nearby enclave in the hands of Islamic State.
The first stage of the ceasefire, brokered by Lebanon's internal security agency, took effect on Sunday as the two sides exchanged the bodies of fighters killed in clashes between them.
"Buses that will transport Nusra Front militants and their families have started arriving in Jroud Arsal," the Hezbollah military media unit said.
The convoys came from Syrian territory and headed towards Lebanese army positions, it said.
Hezbollah has played a major role in fighting militants along the frontier during Syria's six-year war. It has sent thousands of fighters to help prop up President Bashar al-Assad's government in the battle against rebel groups.
A Lebanese security source said dozens of buses would carry militants and refugees to Syria's Idlib province, which is under the insurgents' control.
Nusra Front will release eight Hezbollah fighters under the deal, three captured in recent days and five held in Syria, the source said.
The Lebanese Red Cross has taken part in logistics.
The U.N. refugee agency, not involved in the deal, was trying to reach refugees in the Arsal region to evaluate whether returns were voluntary, spokeswoman Lisa Abou Khaled said.
"UNHCR believes that conditions for refugees to return in safety and dignity are not yet in place in Syria," she said, as war rages on across much of the country.
The multi-sided Syrian conflict has killed hundreds of thousands of people and driven at least 11 million from their homes.
Nearly 1.5 million refugees have poured into Lebanon - around a quarter of its population - where most languish in severe poverty. Several thousand live in makeshift camps east of Arsal.
China says India building up troops amid border stand off - http://www.reuters.com/article/us-china-india-border-idUSKBN1AJ1TP
China's Foreign Ministry on Thursday said India has been building up troops and repairing roads along its side of the border amid an increasingly tense stand-off in a remote frontier region beside the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan.
The stand-off on a plateau next to the mountainous Indian state of Sikkim, which borders China, has ratcheted up tension between the neighbors, who share a 3,500-km (2,175-mile) frontier, large parts of which are disputed.
"It has already been more than a month since the incident, and India is still not only illegally remaining on Chinese territory, it is also repairing roads in the rear, stocking up supplies, massing a large number of armed personnel," the foreign ministry said in a statement.
"This is certainly not for peace."
Early in June, according to the Chinese interpretation of events, Indian guards crossed into China's Donglang region and obstructed work on a road on the plateau.
The two sides' troops then confronted each other close to a valley controlled by China that separates India from its close ally, Bhutan, and gives China access to the so-called Chicken's Neck, a thin strip of land connecting India and its remote northeastern regions.
India has said it warned China that construction of the road near their common border would have serious security implications.
Despite China's numerous diplomatic representations, its foreign ministry said, India has not only not withdrawn its troops but has also been making "unreasonable demands" and is not sincere about a resolution.
"If India really cherishes peace, it ought to immediately withdraw its personnel who have illegally crossed the border into the Indian side."
China's defense ministry last month warned India not to harbor any illusions about the Chinese military's ability to defend its territory.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to visit China early in September for a summit of BRICS leaders.
Indian officials say about 300 soldiers from either side are facing each other about 150 meters (yards) apart on the plateau.
They have told Reuters that both sides' diplomats have quietly engaged to try to keep the stand-off from escalating, and that India's ambassador to Beijing is leading the effort to find a way for both sides to back down without loss of face.
Chinese state media have warned India of a fate worse than the defeat it suffered in a brief border war in 1962. China's military has held live fire drills close to the disputed area, they said last month.
Russia flies 2,000 mercenary troops into Syria -
Russia is engaged in a major buildup in Syria, both in support of the de-escalation zones established in conjunction with the United States, and in order to solidify its military control of the country.
debkafile's military and intelligence sources reported exclusively on Wednesday, August 2, that 2,000 mercenaries had just been airlifted into the country, boosting to a total of 5,000 the number of mercenaries on hire from the Wagner Group private contractors for service under the Russian flag in Syria. They are all retirees from elite units of the Russian ground forces, air force or navy.
In another new Russian project, our military sources also report the arrival in the past few days of Muslim troops from the republic of Ingushetia. Although clad in Russian military police uniforms, they are actually commandoes trained in anti-terror warfare. They have been posted as "ceasefire monitors" at the three de-escalation zones established by Russia and the United States along the Syrian borders with Israel, Jordan and Iraq.
President Vladimir Putin and his defense minister Gen. Sergei Shoigu have ramped up the Russian military presence in Syria without adding ground and armored troops - even though the Russian constitution bars the recruitment of mercenaries to fight overseas for profit.
Moscow is a veteran client of the Wagner Group contractors, which largely resemble the US Blackwater security contractor now calling itself Academi. It was hired to provide military personnel during 20014 and 2015 for Moscow's battle to conquer Crimea and in support of the pro-Russian separatists fighting in eastern Ukraine.
Their mercenaries first arrived in Syria in October 2015, right after Moscow stepped up its intervention in the civil war. In March 2016, several hundred of them fought in the big battle that wrested Palmyra from ISIS.
Ironically, the Wagner Group does not officially exist and is not listed anywhere in Russia. However, a company bearing that name operates out of Argentina, even though its recruits receive training in Russia. They are trained, our sources reveal, at a base of the 10th special forces brigade of GRU military intelligence, located near the village of Molkino in the Krasnodar area of southern Russia, about 150km northeast of the Black Sea. The identity of Wagner's boss is held secret, but Western intelligence sources name him as Dmitry Utkin, who until 2013 was a lieutenant colonel in the 2nd Spetznaz brigade.
The placement of Russian Muslim forces or hired mercenaries on Israel's northern border - in the guise of ceasefire monitors - poses a serious problem for Jerusalem. Russia's record for keeping its promises and commitments on its military moves in Syria is far from good. The US has confirmed that Russia gave Israel a commitment that Iranian and pro-Iranian forces, including Hezbollah, would not be allowed to approach the Syrian-Israeli border. But Israel can't be certain how the Ingushets or the mercenaries will react if confronted with such troops. Will they resort to arms to evict them or let them stay?
The coming DEBKA Weekly out on Friday, Aug. 4, expands on the Russian buildup in Syria and its repercussions.
Iran, Turkey on course for prophetic Ezekiel 38 alliance - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com
Ezekiel 38 prophesies about a tremendous end-time battle where a coalition of nations led by an antichrist figure coming from areas in modern Turkey invades Israel and is destroyed by God. The coalition, led by "Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal (v 38:3)" is comprised of Persia, Ethiopia, Libya, Magog, Gomer and Togarmah. Ancient history and maps confirm that Magog, Meshech, Tubal, Gomer and Togarmah are located in modern Turkey. Persia is modern Iran. Libya is Libya and Ethiopia is likely modern Sudan. For this coalition to come against Israel, Shiite Iran must submit to and unite with Sunni Turkey, something that appears nearly impossible today, but may be changing even as you read this.
There is a complex matrix in which Turkey's leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan appears to be moving the pieces in place where Iran and Turkey can become allies. In May, Turkey and Iran signed a Russian-brokered agreement to establish safe zones in Syria, where the two countries are at odds over Syria's leader Bashar Assad. This may not seem like much, but since then there has been more activity seeming to bring Iran and Turkey together. This strange relationship is tied together by Qatar, which has caused a diplomatic "crisis" with Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Bahrain over accusations that Qatar is supporting "extremists" -most likely translated-Iran. This group wants Qatar to expel Turkey's troops and limit it's ties with Iran.
Turkey has a strong trade and military relationship with Qatar, sporting a military base there that opened in 2016. On July 23, Erdogan met with the Saudis and Kuwaitis, attempting to deescalate the crisis. At the same time, however, Erdogan proclaimed that all Muslims should visit the Temple Mount and protect Jerusalem while accusing Israeli Jews of "attempting to take the Mosque from Muslim hands on the pretext of fighting terrorism." On July 30, Erdogan organized thousands in Istanbul to protest Israel's Temple Mount actions and to show solidarity with the "Palestinian" people. At the same time Erdogan provoked "Palestinians" to act against Israel, Iran worked in tandem to literally "feed" the riots.
The Times of Israel reported that Iran provided boxes of food and drink to Palestinian protesters at the Temple Mount. The aid reportedly came with a flyer attached depicting the Dome of the Rock and a quote attributed to Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei reading, "With the help of God, Palestine will be freed. Jerusalem is ours." Turkey's cooperation with Iran in Syria, the apparent teamwork against Israel on the Temple Mount protests, and Turkey's attempts to hold Saudi Arabia and Egypt at bay while strengthening ties with Iran's ally Qatar lend some small insight into how these Sunni and Shiite nations may join together against Israel in the "acharit-hayamim," meaning the end of days. But it won't last when God intervenes with fire and brimstone as Ezekiel 38: 21 says, "...every man's sword shall be against his brother."
