This July Fourth, Almighty God Has Shed His Grace On Our Land - But For A Moment

Last year in light of everything, I truly believed that that Fourth of July could have very well been our last as a
nation. All events and things of that hour pointed to that thought and I and many others were in prayer seeking Almighty God's will for such days ahead. However in the grace of Almighty God He has spared this nation last November for a moment and here we are
in 2017 to reflect and remember that it is He that governs in the affairs of men as Benjamin Franklin of old once stated so wisely!

Watching president Trump's speech last Saturday night I was totally blown away with how much "God" he put into it and how strong his message was. Trump's
speech was "old school America" before the secularist took over our nation and I loved it! Politicians usually love to generalize Almighty God during speeches and show their hypocritical piety but with president Trump he seemed very sincere. It is true that
this event was sponsored by evangelicals and that many evangelicals were in the audience, but President Trump seemed to know and believe that America without Almighty God is nothing. Trump has totally surrounded and embraced evangelical leaders who have a
saving relationship to Almighty God through Jesus Christ and to me that speaks volumes about many things. A man is known by his actions and deeds, not by his words and president Trump's actions and deeds for restoring America speak volumes in light of the
last 16 years of this nation; so why would any believer hate him and not pray for him?


During his speech, President Trump used a title in which many politicians despise, but it is the title that our founding father's used when speaking and
addressing the Almighty, our Creator! I personally have never been a Trump fan but have to say since his inauguration I have become a big supporter of his and a fan in a lot of ways. I know that that statement will not rub well with many but I have never seen
a president be so fearless and bold and seek to make things right again after the attempted  godless coup under Alinsky's master, Obama and the American Left. Trump is just a man, a very unpolished man in many regards. He is hated by both sides and by many
but Almighty God has heard His peoples prayers and has given us this man to slow down our national destruction; and for a moment Almighty God has shed His grace on our nation; a nation which was over last November, a nation which is at war with Him and His
RIGHTEOUS Person, a nation which in many ways hates and abhors Him. Almighty God sets up kings and rulers in His ETERNAL sovereignty and will use any to fulfill His good will and at this moment in time Almighty God has chosen Donald Trump; like it or not (Dan.
2:21; 4:17, Rev. 4-5)! Many believers today need to get over Trump's election and their earthly aspirations for this fallen nation here in time and use this window granted by Almighty God to seek Almighty God's ETERNAL will and ETERNAL country (Matt. 6:33;
Heb. 11:16, Rev. 21;22:1-5) and get out the ETERNAL Gospel of Jesus Christ to a dying nation and world! We need to pray for President's Trump's salvation and that of Americans as we wait for the trumpet to blow!


As we seek to "Make America Great Again" with precious little time left on the play clock, we need to "Wake Up America Again" to the ETERNAL saving grace
of our Lord Jesus Christ; for that is the calling from on High to every blood brought believer in this hour (2 Cor. 5:17-21). We are to be believers in Jesus Christ first and Americans second and when this Divine order is kept rightly America will prosper
as NEVER before! I personally believe that our nation was not spared last November to "Make America Great Again" by national sovereignty, economic growth and prosperity; but for God's people to diligently and prayerfully get out Almighty God's saving message
to all of Adam's race (John 3:16-17, Rom. 5:11-21).


We as believers need to redeem the time given to us from Heaven as never before as that Day approaches (Eph. 5:15-16)! It was the prayers of this nation's
saints to Almighty God that has spared this nation in November (Dan. 4:17) and it should be the desire of all these praying saints that a GREAT spiritual revival and turning to Almighty God in Spirit and TRUTH occur before the Day of the Lord arrives! We as
American believers need to pray for Almighty God's will in this hour for our nation and not for our nation's desires for a  prosperity that seeks to exclude the RIGHTEOUSNESS of Almighty God! May we as believers in Jesus Christ be focused on our Heavenly calling
first and for Almighty God's will first in our lives and then the rest for America will fall into place.


The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!

In the almost two and a half centuries since the United States declared itself a free and independent nation, it has seen many crises.  And every time
America called for help, a group of heroes stood up and said, "Count me in."

 
They did this knowing they might suffer grievous injury. They might lose a limb, or an ability, such as the ability to see.  They might not walk again.
They might die.

 
Through the years, millions of heroes have risen when needed.  They came from farms and skyscrapers; from small towns and metropolises.  Among them, you
will find every color of skin, and the descendants of every nation on earth.  Millions of them.  American heroes all.

 
On July 4th, the United States of America celebrates 241 years of independence.  I have been (and remain) an unwavering critic of much in American life.
 But I would be foolish indeed not to recognize that every day of my life has been enhanced immeasurably by the land of my birth, and a way of life made possible by the sacrifice of heroes.

 
It's important to remember that these men and women didn't lay down their lives for a particular race.  This country has always been a melting pot of
many peoples.  Nor did they do it out of loyalty to a king or crown.

 
So why did they do it?
 
Each hero would have expressed it differently.  But I think that deep in their American souls, they would agree that they did it for an idea - a great
shining idea.

 
Thomas Jefferson put the idea into words;
 
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that
among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."


American heroes laid their lives on the line as a gift to each U.S. citizen and, in many ways, to the whole world. They didn't do it because they evaluated
our character, and found us worthy. Few of them even knew you or me. They did it because it was right.

 
In Thornton Wilder's classic play, "Our Town," the Stage Manager takes the audience on a tour of the town graveyard. One area of it holds special meaning.
"Over there," he says, "are some Civil War veterans. Iron flags on their graves... New Hampshire boys... had a notion that the Union ought to be kept together, though they'd never seen more than fifty miles of it themselves. All they knew was the name, friends
- the United States of America.  The United States of America.  And they went and died about it."

 
In "America the Beautiful," Katherine Lee Bates wrote;
 
"O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife.
Who more than self their country loved
And mercy more than life!"

It's a kind of miracle.  People who didn't know me... died for me.
 
But on the scale of miracles, there's something even more amazing.  What if someone knew us, and died for us?  I mean, really knew us - knew every evil
thought, every rotten deed, every selfish or silly thing we ever thought or did.  What if, even knowing all this, Someone still chose to die for you?

 
That's what Jesus did.
 
John 3:16 gives us a glimpse at the grandeur of God's plan for human salvation.  He loved the world so much "that He gave His only begotten Son."
 
John 15:13 makes it personal, "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends."

And Romans 5:8, makes it astonishing.  "God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

We Americans are once again celebrating our nation's birth.  We call it Independence Day.  We celebrate freedom, and an ability to exercise inalienable
rights.

 
Maybe America isn't your home.  Or maybe you're an American citizen, but you don't feel free.  God offers a level of liberty no nation can match.  In
Luke 4:18, Jesus used an Old Testament prophecy to explain why He came into the world.  He said, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty
to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed." (Luke NKJV)

 
We're all captives of our own sinful natures - until He sets us free.  He heals our blindnesses, and our broken hearts.  That's real freedom.  And you
can have it right now.  Just ask Him for it.

 
In John 8:36, Jesus said, "If therefore the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed."

Blessings to America and her sons and daughters on this day; the celebration of our nation.  But the nation we know and love as America, The United States
of America, really began in the early 1600's when settlers came from other countries, mainly England, on an adventure that spawned the beacon of freedom and the light of Jesus Christ for the world.  The Mayflower Compact, which many believe today to be the
first significant governing document of what would become the United States was very specific about the covenant these men and women were entering into with God for this new land.


The Mayflower Compact of 1620 reads: "IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN. We, whose names are underwritten, the Loyal Subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord King
James, by the Grace of God, of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, &c. Having undertaken for the Glory of God, and Advancement of the Christian Faith, and the Honor of our King and Country, a Voyage to plant the first Colony in
the northern Parts of Virginia; Do by these Presents, solemnly and mutually, in the Presence of God and one another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil Body Politick, for our better Ordering and Preservation, and Furtherance of the Ends aforesaid."


Some 18 years later, The Fundamental Orders of 1638, were adopted in Connecticut.  Its preamble says,  "For as much as it hath pleased Almighty God...knowing
where a people are gathered together the word of God requires that to maintain the peace and union of such a people there should be an orderly and decent Government established according to God, to order and dispose of the affairs of the people at all seasons
as occasion shall require; ... to maintain and preserve the liberty and purity of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus ... which according to the truth of the said Gospel is now practiced amongst us; as also in our civil affairs to be guided and governed according
to such Laws, Rules, Orders and Decrees..."


These documents and many others like them dispel the lie that America is not a Christian nation.  We allow freedom to all religions, because our God in
Christ Jesus will not force Himself upon others, but rather allow them to come voluntarily. But the foundation of our nation must remain Christian otherwise we will not so long be a nation of freedom and justice.  God's sovereignty must be the rule of man.
 The Lord said in Jeremiah 34:15, "And you were now turned, and had done right in My sight, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbor; and you had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name." Remember your heritage in order to
keep your freedom.

As we commemorate the day of our Independence from Britain, it may be helpful to be reminded of the sufferance of the Founding Fathers and what was going
through their minds as they decided to take on the most powerful political and military force on the planet. They said, "A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people." What happens
when that "Prince" collectively becomes the Supreme Court, the Congress and the Executive Branch working in concert with one another toward a world order foreign and detrimental to the people they are charged with representing and to the Constitution they
vowed to uphold? What are citizens to do?


The Declaration of Independence is a masterful document that served as the true "preamble" to our Constitution. It begins by saying: "When in the Course
of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle
them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain
unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.


"--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any
Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely
to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are
sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.


"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is
their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.--Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of
Government."  The signatures of 56 men were written on the Declaration after this sentence: "And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and
our sacred Honor."


In other words, they risked everything. They counted the cost. They understood the will of God. They acted. This Independence Day, please take time to
remind yourself and others about the sufferance of those who made such a pledge on their Lives, Fortunes, and sacred Honor. Please contemplate our national condition. Please seek God. For as Peter and the disciples said in Acts 5:29, "We ought to obey God
rather than men." And recall the words of James 1:25, "But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed." The body without spirit is dead,
faith without works is also dead. Please consider your destiny.
