Even as I hear the rumble of jets echoing in the skies above me, I am still taken aback at the beauty of the land that surrounds me.The Jezreel Valley, which spreads for miles below my house, is lush and fruitful. The green bounty of the crops is only broken up here and there by the rich brown of the soil being turned by farmers in their tractors. It is idyllic and puts me in the mindof that apt description of this land as being one flowing with milk and honey. Yet, despite the miraculous fertility of modern Israel, there is still a pall of sorrow that hangs over its people. This past weekend marked 100 days since Hamas terroristspoured over the Gaza border and began torturing, raping, kidnapping, murdering, and mutilating every Israeli that they could find. Even today, there are still 132 hostages that remain in captivity enduring the brutality of these savages. Imagine being oneof these innocents, just ordinary civilians, having been snatched from your home, forced to watch your loved ones slaughtered, then abused at the hands of your captor�s day-after-day for 100 days. It�s so horrific that I can�t let my mind go too deep intotheir experience. It�s too dark. It�s too evil. For these past months, I have necessarily been immersed into what has been taking place in my country � the prosecution of the war, the return of the hostages, the terroristraids. Yet, even with that primary focus, I haven�t lost sight of what�s happening in the rest of the world. So many locations beyond just Israel are either at war or close to erupting. There are those who say that we are on the verge of another world war.Just three days ago, British foreign secretary Grant Shapps said in a speech that the �era of the peace dividend is over� and that we are now in a �pre-war� period that could eventually lead to conflicts involving Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea. I agreewith much of what he is saying. However, after taking stock of our global situation, I believe that a strong case can be made that we are already in a world war. In today�s article, I want to look at eight areas of conflict or potential conflict that involve a very large percentage of Europe, Asia, and North America, and examine whathas taken place in each situation just this past week. World War Conflicts Israel�s Conflict with Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon Successful heavy bombing and strategic military maneuvers continue in Gaza in Khan Yunis, Northern Shati, and Beit Bahia. On Monday, Israel�s Defense Minister Yoav Gallantsaid that the �intensive phase� of the offensive in northern Gaza is complete, and should soon wrap up in the south, also. However, this does not mean that the battle is over. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are simply shifting to the next phase that willsee terrorists and their facilities, infrastructure, and weapons eradicated. When pressed as to whether there will be a conclusion to military action anytime soon, Gallant tied his negative answer to the hostages who are still in captivity, saying, �If thefire stops, the fate of the hostages will be sealed for many years in the captivity of Hamas. Without military pressure, no one will talk to us. Only from a position of strength can the hostages be freed.� The IDF is determined to staunch the threat from the south, because they understand the brutality of the enemy. On October 7, 19-year-old Adir Tahar was brutally murderedwhen Hamas terrorists fired an anti-tank missile at him, then followed up by throwing three grenades. When Adir�s father, David, read the autopsy report, it showed that his body was severely damaged and that the terrorists had decapitated him and stolen hishead. This began a father�s desperate and tragic search for the head of his son, so that he could bury him with at least some dignity. After weeks without a lead, a terrorist under interrogation confessed that he had Adir�s head and had attempted to sell itin Gaza for $10,000. Based on his information, the IDF searched an ice cream shop in Gaza and found Adir�s head in a suitcase stored in the freezer. David was finally able to bury his son intact. It is stories like these that will keep us Israelis fightinguntil we are sure that all our borders are safe. Nightly operations into the West Bank continue. On Tuesday, a terrorist cell leader, Abdullah Abu Shalal, was killed by an IDF airstrike in Nablus. The next night, a massiveoperation in Tulkarm resulted in the arrest of 300 terrorists. Jenin and Dora also saw fighting. All these actions are to root out Palestinian terrorists who are bent on killing innocent Israelis. Sunday and Monday saw two terror attempts thwarted, leadingto the deaths of the attempted perpetrators. Tragically, on Tuesday, two Arabs from the West Bank succeeded in their plan. Each commandeered cars, stabbing their drivers. Then they proceeded to ram the vehicles into pedestrians. A 79-year-old woman was killedin the attack and 17 more people were wounded. The IDF held an exercise on Tuesday simulating an attack in Lebanon. Said IDF Major General Ori Gordin, head of the Northern Command, �We are more ready for this than we haveever been, for tonight if we have to.� Meanwhile, major air attacks continue on Iranian and Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon. Iraqi Militias� Conflict with Israel Channels associated with Shiite militias in Iraq claim that an explosion at Haifa Bay�s oil refineries on Sunday was a result of a cruise missile they launched. As the IslamicResistance in Iraq celebrated the victory, Israeli officials said, �Not so fast.� The Israeli Protection Ministry instead claims that it was a �breakdown of a polyethene machine at the Carmel Olefins factory in Haifa� that caused the explosion. Whatever thereal story is here, there is no doubt that Iran-backed militias in both Iraq and Syria are trained, armed, and just waiting for their opportunity to cross the border into Israel and carry out their own murderous rampage. Iran�s Conflict with Syria, Iraq, and Pakistan You�d think that Iran had its hands full with its on-going proxy war with Israel and Saudi Arabia. But apparently, the ayatollahs have tired of having all their �Arab rabble� doing the dirty work for them. They want to get their hands bloodied, too. In a 24-hour-period at the beginning of this week, Iran launched airstrikes using missiles and drones on Syria, Iraq, and Pakistan. In Erbil, Iraq, the IRGC targeted a well-known localbusinessman, killing him and his family. They justified the action saying that it was a Mossad headquarters. The Iraqi foreign minister condemned the attack on CNN saying Iran couldn�t hit Israel at home, so they went to the nearest supposed target. But itwasn�t the Syria and Iraq attacks that caused the most stir because who doesn�t fire missiles at those two countries these days? Instead, the major hub-bub came from Tehran�s violation of Pakistani sovereignty by firing a ballistic missile at the headquarters of Jaish al-Adel, an armed Sunni militia,in Pakistan�s Balochistan province near the Iranian border. Pakistan immediately warned of serious consequences to the attack, then proceeded to close its border with Iran while deploying forces into the area. Baluchi militants didn�t wait for the Pakistanigovernment to act against Iran. The group Gish al-Adel on Wednesday shot to death a high-ranking IRGC officer in Balochistan. Also, on Wednesday, Iran launched another air attack into Pakistan, and now Pakistani F-16s are flying around the border. Then, today, the action continued. Pakistan launched a drone and rocket strike against terrorist organizations in southeastern Iran. Not hitting official Iranian targets wasa strategic move, letting Tehran know that Islamabad was capable of the same kind of cross-border air attack. Instead of a punch, this was more of a bumping of the chests. Iran, in an act of whatever the Persian version of �chutzpah� is, demanded an explanationfor Pakistan�s actions, and immediately ordered military exercises to take place in the area. This is a conflict that must be watched, and, again, it can�t be emphasized enough that this change of philosophy by the Islamic regime in Iran to engage directlyrather than through their proxies is a significant step. Yemen�s Conflict with the US and the UK Last Thursday saw a major joint airstrike by the United States and the United Kingdom on 62 targets at 16 different sites belonging to the Yemeni Houthi rebels. This cameafter the Iran-sponsored proxy militia continued its belligerence against Red Sea shipping and the State of Israel. In an official statement from the U.S. Department of Defense, Secretary Lloyd Austin wrote that the strikes �targeted sites associated with the Houthis� ballistic and cruisemissile, and coastal radar and air surveillance capabilities.� The purpose of the action was �to disrupt and degrade the Houthis� capabilities to endanger mariners and threaten global trade in one of the world�s most critical waterways.� The Houthis responded on Wednesday with a drone attack on an American ship in the Strait of Aden. Late news saw another US strike Wednesday night on 14 rail-based Houthi missilesthat were primed to fire at any time. The targets were destroyed. To emphasize their unhappiness with the Houthis, the US administration redesignated the terrorist group as a �terrorist group�. The previous administration had placed theYemeni rebel group, formally known as Ansarallah (�Supporters of God�), on the Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO) list which allowed assets to be frozen and accounts blocked. But early in the Biden administration, the state department removed them fromthat list. Wednesday�s redesignation stopped short of returning the Houthis to the FTO, and instead declared them to be a Special Designated Global Terrorist Group (SDGT). Ease of humanitarianaid was the reason given by the administration, and they say they reserve the right to amend the designation. The global war concerns here can be seen in who condemned the airstrikes. Both Russia�s President Putin and Turkey�s President Erdogan came out strongly against the action.China�s ministry of foreign affairs expressed its concern about the escalation of hostilities in the Red Sea. This is one more military issue that is dividing the east from the west. Russia�s Conflict with Ukraine It has been one year, ten months, three weeks, and five days since the Vladimir Putin�s �special military operation� was launched. In that period, half a million soldiersand civilians have been killed or wounded. Now, according to German newspaper Bild, Russia is secretly strategizing to expand the conflict to NATO countries. Russian foreign affairs spokeswoman Maria Zakharova was quick to pooh-pooh the allegations comparing it to a �mighty horoscope from last year for Pisces in Cancer.� I�m notsure what that means, but I�m guessing it�s a negative. Still, if the tide should turn against Russia in the war with Ukraine, it is very easy to see a desperate Putin expanding the conflict in a grasp at straws. China�s Threats Against Taiwan The days leading up to Taiwan�s presidential election this past Saturday provided the perfect opportunity for China to again emphasize their ownership claims to the islandnation. In a speech celebrating the new year, China�s President Xi asserted that unification is a �historical inevitability.� The Chinese air force and navy are consistently infringing on Taiwan�s sovereignty just to remind them that they are close. The election to Taiwan�s presidency on Saturday of Lai Ching-te, whom Beijing regards as a dangerous separatist, is bound to ratchet the tension up even further. Foreign countries are weighing in with their opinions. Aleksandr Dugin, a close adviser of Vladimir Putin, believes that the time is optimal for China to begin a militaryoperation against Taiwan. US President Biden used the election as an opportunity to remind the world that America does not support Taiwan�s independence. This has been the official US position since1979. However, in 2016, President-elect Donald Trump made a call to the then-president of Taiwan, leading to harsh condemnation from China. He was the first president to make such a call since Jimmy Carter. If it looks at all like the 45th president has a chance to move back into the office and become the 47th president, it would not be surprising to see China launch an actionagainst Taiwan prior to the November US elections. Turkey attacks the Kurds Turkish jets flew into Syria and Iraq on Friday and rained missiles down onto more than two dozen targets belonging to the Kurdistan Workers� Party (PKK) and the People�sProtection Units (YPG). The attack came in retaliation for a raid by the PKK on a Turkish army base in northern Iraq the day before that left nine of Turkey�s soldiers dead and another four wounded. President Erdogan�s government considers these two groupsto be terrorists, which causes friction with the US government who partners with the YPG in the fight against the Islamic State (ISIS). North Korea Threats Against South Korea The aggressive rhetoric by Kim Jong-un against South Korea is equally matched by his aggressive actions. Just under two weeks ago, the North Korean army fired 200 artilleryrounds into the maritime buffer zone established between them and their southern neighbor. For the same reasons that China�s Xi might consider a pre-US-election move against Taiwan, Supreme Leader Kim may find himself with a decision regarding South Koreacome fall. ----------------------------------- No Innocent Civilians in Gaza - By Daymond Duck - https://www.raptureready.com/2024/01/13/no-innocent-civilians-in-gaza-by-daymond-duck/ Following 54 days of captivity in Gaza, 21-year-old Mia Schem was interviewed twice on TV, and she felt a need to talk about those who seized her and what she went throughas a hostage. Schem was at the Supernova music festival with a male friend when the attack started. They rushed to her car, got in it, and started driving away. She saw several terrorists shoot people and stepped on the gas to escape, but they shot her tires, and her car stalled. A truckload of armed terrorists passed her car, and one of the terrorists shot her (a 21-year-old unarmed woman) in the arm at very close range. She dropped to the floor of her car with blood streaming down her arm and began to scream that she had lost her hand. Schem’s male friend was removed from the car; his hands were tied behind his back; his body was found several days later and was returned to Israel. Schem tried to play dead. Cars were burning all around her car; then a man passed that she thought was an Israeli, so she asked him to help her. The man was a terrorist; heordered her to get up and started touching her body parts. She started screaming and acting crazy, and he saw her bloody arm and stopped. A different man grabbed a handful of her hair, pulled her to a different car, put her in it, and took her half-consciousto a hospital in Gaza. Someone got a handful of her hair again, dragged her out of that car, and put her in a back room at the hospital. Someone stretched out her arm and tied it to a stiff pieceof plastic. She spent 3 days in the back room and was ordered to put on a hijab (a head covering). She was taken to the hospital surgery room, where she was operated on without anesthesia and told she would not go home alive. (Note:It is obvious that the surgeon knew there was a hostage in the hospital.) The next day, she was told to film a propaganda video and say she was being taken care of if she didn’t want to die. From there, she was taken to a family home occupied by a Hamas terrorist, his wife, and an unspecified number of children. She was put in a dark room and told she could notspeak, move, cry, or be seen, and she was being watched 24/7. Schem said the entire family (father, wife, and children) was involved with Hamas, and the wife said her husband wanted to rape her. Schem said she felt like an animal; the children would sometimes open the door and stare at her; she never got to take a shower; she often had to go without anything to eatfor 2 or 3 days; she never got medications; and she had trouble sleeping. At some point, the terrorists started moving her from home to home in an ambulance, and she became aware of what other families are like. When the truce started, she was moved to a tunnel where she met some of the other hostages, and she spent 4 or 5 days there without food. At the TV interviews, and after spending 54 days in Gaza, Schem said: •It is important for the world to understand what the people in Gaza are like. •I experienced Hell. •Everyone there (in Gaza) is a terrorist. •There are no innocent civilians, not one. •(Innocent civilians (don’t exist) there (in Gaza). •From the moment they are born, the children in Gaza are taught to hate Jews.  Concerning some of my thoughts about what Schem said, it is important to understand that: •In 2006, the Palestinians elected Hamas to rule over them, and 2 of their main goals were killing Jews and destroying the nation of Israel. •Hamas was trying to do what the Palestinian people elected them to do. •Hamas has not let the Red Cross visit the hostages to check on their care (a basic human right). •Hamas raped, tortured, and killed innocent Jewish men, women, and children just because they hated them, and Israel has videos and other evidence to prove it. •Other hostages have similar stories about how they were treated. •Palestinians are demonstrating all over the world and calling for the death of Jews and the destruction of Israel. •The Israeli military would not need to be in Gaza if the Palestinians and their allies were not like they are. •Palestinian parents know what was in the textbooks they used at school; they know that their children are being taught to hate Jews and more. Please do not misunderstand me. I do not think it is possible to view the pictures of devastation, crying and injured children, and not feel compassion for the people of Gaza, but the parents brought iton themselves and their children. God said He will bless those that bless Israel and curse those that curse Israel, but they have rejected the Bible as the Word of God. A famous sermon says, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of an angry God?” Israel is clearly fed up with the attempts to destroy Jews in their own land. Here are some current events that seem to relate to Bible prophecy: One, concerning an increase in wars and rumors of wars at theend of the age: on Jan. 4, 2024, it was reported that 12 nations (the U.S., Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, and Britain) sent a letter to the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen that said: “Let our message now be clear: We call for the immediate end of these illegal attacks, and the release of unlawfully detained vessels and crews.” “The Houthis will bear the responsibility of the consequences should they continue to threaten lives, the global economy, and free flow of commerce in the region’s criticalwaterways.” A Biden administration official said the Houthis should not expect a second warning. (Update:Just a few hours after the nations sent the letter to the Houthis, the Iran-backed group carried out a failed attack on another ship.) Two, concerning God’s promise to draw the Jews back to the PromisedLand at the end of the age: on Jan. 1, 2024, it was reported that there has been an increase in the desire of Jews to relocate to Israel since the Israel-Hamas war began on Oct. 7, 2023, and one of the main reasons is their “profound sense of connection andsolidarity with the Jewish people and their homeland.” The fact that there is an increase in Jews wanting to relocate to Israel while a war is going on is encouraging to those who are already there. (More:According to the Bible, Israel will be hated by all nations at the end of the age. World leaders, Islamic groups, and the media are using the events in Gaza to increase the hatred of Israel. Anti-Semitism, harassment, and hate crimes are causing some Jewsin foreign countries to consider a move to Israel. Fulfilled prophecy is verifying the truth of the Bible. The fulfillment of other major prophecies is coming on the scene now.) Three, concerning famine and wickedness at the end of the age:on Jan. 4, 2024, it was reported that Hamas is killing hungry Palestinian citizens who are trying to steal humanitarian aid that Israel and others are sending to the Gaza Strip. But Hamas is not killing Palestinian citizens to keep them from stealing humanitarian aid. Hamas is killing Palestinian citizens because Hamas wants to steal the humanitarian aid for themselves. Think about this: While Hamas is killing Palestinian citizens, world leaders are trying to protect Hamas from Israel. Four, the Bible teaches that Israel will expand its borders atthe end of the age and ultimately end up with all the Promised Land. On Jan. 3, 2024, 3 legal experts from law schools in Israel and the U.S. submitted a document to Israel’s political leaders that says international law does not require Israelto allow the Palestinians to return to their homes in northern Gaza as long as the fighting continues, and Israel’s enemies are holding hostages. The legal experts added that even if the war ends, preventing the movement of Israel’s enemies is legal warfare. As I understand what I have been reading, Israel is willing to allow Palestinians to return to most (Israel wants a buffer zone) of northern Gaza under the condition thatthe Palestinians will not threaten or attack Israel. Israel is fed up and demanding an end to the attacks. Five, concerning world government: on Jan. 7, 2024, it was reportedthat Tucker Carlson interviewed a world-renowned biologist who said: •There is scientific evidence that shows that Covid vaccinations killed 17 million people worldwide. •Using vaccinations that damage the immune system of children means they will have a damaged immune system for the rest of their life. •Pandemics and mass vaccinations are part of the UN’s plan to transform itself into a world government. •The World Health Organization (WHO) is drafting new measures that will destroy national sovereignty and free speech as we know it. (More:On Jan. 8, 2024, it was reported that the AARP has just advised its 38 million senior adult members to get another vaccination even though there is no safety data on the most recent jab.) (My opinion:Deceit has become a major problem worldwide. Many world leaders, medical people, the media, and big pharma, are compromised and unreliable.) Six, concerning the Tribulation Period: on Jan. 5, 2024, the IsraelToday Staff posted an article about an unidentified commander (identity withheld for security purposes) in Israel’s Southern Command. After talking about the fighting that he and his troops went through in a TV interview, the commander was asked for his interpretation of what happened and is happening. He referenced Jer. 30:7, “Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it; it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.” The time of Jacob’s trouble is one of the names of the Tribulation Period. According to the Bible: •As an unbeliever, Jacob’s name was Jacob, but when he became a believer, God changed his name to Israel (Gen. 35:10-12). •Israel will come back into existence as a nation before the Tribulation Period (Isa. 66:7-8). •Israel will have to go through the Tribulation Period (Dan. 9:24-27). •All Israel will be saved (Rom. 11:26). The Israel-Hamas war is not the Tribulation Period (time of unbelieving Israel’s trouble; the Church is still here; there is no world government, etc.), but the Israeli commanderis right: this war could be a major step in that direction (and lead to Israel’s salvation at the end of the Tribulation Period). Seven, concerning a departure from the faith in the Church: on Jan. 8, 2024, it was reported that a Catholic cardinal from Venezuela wrote an explicit pornographic book in 1998that has recently come to light, and Roman Catholic Archbishop Vigano has called upon the Swiss Guards to arrest and expel him and his accomplices from the Vatican. Here are some daily updates on the war. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024 (Day 90): The thirty-fifth day of the resumed war. •Israel has placed its forces on her border with Lebanon on high alert. •Israel warned that they will only allow world leaders a short period of time to get Hezbollah away from Israel’s border with Lebanon. •Israel said Hezbollah has a network of tunnels in Lebanon that is more sophisticated and dangerous than the Hamas tunnels in the Gaza Strip. •There is growing concern about oil and gas prices if the war continues. •Israel blew up a tunnel several hundred meters long with several side tunnels, and several (about 20) terrorists in the main tunnel were all killed. There may have been terroristsin the side tunnels killed, too. •Israel said Hamas is putting children on the front lines while its troops are hiding in tunnels. •Hezbollah leader Nasrallah said all land from the river to the sea is Palestinian land and all Jews should be removed. •Israel released a plan for limited Palestinian self-rule of Gaza, with Israel in charge of security after the war. •A U.S. airstrike killed an Iranian-backed terrorist leader in Iraq. Friday, Jan. 5, 2024 (Day 91): The thirty-sixth day of the resumed war. •Israeli air, sea, and ground forces struck more than 100 Hamas sites. •Israel’s destruction of tunnels is greatly weakening Hamas below ground, and conquered territory is causing Israel’s forces to grow stronger above ground. •A U.S. nuclear-powered aircraft carrier accompanied by a strike group of naval vessels arrived at the Red Sea to send a message to the Houthis in Yemen. •Israel’s Defense Min. said Israel prefers a diplomatic settlement of its differences with Hezbollah along Israel’s border with Lebanon, but the likelihood of resorting toa military option is increasingly imminent. •The U.S. State Dept. offered $10 million for financial information on 5 wealthy Muslims who are funneling large sums of money to Hamas. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024 (Day 92): The thirty-seventh day of the resumed war. •Hezbollah fired 62 rockets into Israel, supposedly in retaliation for the assassination of a Hamas leader earlier in the week (on Jan. 2, 2024). •Because of attacks in the Red Sea, Lebanon, Iraq, and Iran, America’s Sec. of State Blinken will visit Turkey today to try to convince Iran to tamp down the attacks to keepthe war from spreading. •The U.S. shot down a drone that was launched over the Red Sea by Houthis in Yemen. •Israel said it has dismantled Hamas’ command structure in north Gaza and will now focus on destroying the command structure in central and south Gaza. Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024 (Day 93): The thirty-eighth day of the resumed war. •S. Sec. of State Blinken is on a lightning tour in the Middle East over concern that the Israel-Hamas war is spreading. •Muslim attacks on Jews in the West Bank (Israel) are increasing. •Many medical workers and staff announced their departure from Gaza because of the increasing danger. Monday, Jan. 8, 2024 (Day 94): The thirty-ninth day of the resumed war. •S. Sec. of State Blinken is due in Israel as fear grows that the war is spreading. •Following a visit to Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi, Blinken said the countries in the region are willing to normalize relations with Israel provided there is a practical pathto a Palestinian state. •An Israeli airstrike in Lebanon killed a senior Hezbollah commander, and fear of an all-out war is spreading. •Israel found a weapons production site in a tunnel in Gaza and evidence that Iran was helping Hamas build and launch precision missiles. •It is rumored that Israel knows where Yahya Sinwar is, but he is hiding behind some of the hostages to keep Israel from attacking his hideout. •Israel assassinated a rocket expert in Syria that they think was responsible for firing rockets into Israel. Schem was at the Supernova music festival with a male friend when the attack started. They rushed to her car, got in it, and started driving away. She saw several terrorists shoot people and stepped on the gas to escape, but they shot her tires, and her car stalled. A truckload of armed terrorists passed her car, and one of the terrorists shot her (a 21-year-old unarmed woman) in the arm at very close range. She dropped to the floor of her car with blood streaming down her arm and began to scream that she had lost her hand. Schem�s male friend was removed from the car; his hands were tied behind his back; his body was found several days later and was returned to Israel. Schem tried to play dead. Cars were burning all around her car; then a man passed that she thought was an Israeli, so she asked him to help her. The man was a terrorist; heordered her to get up and started touching her body parts. She started screaming and acting crazy, and he saw her bloody arm and stopped. A different man grabbed a handful of her hair, pulled her to a different car, put her in it, and took her half-consciousto a hospital in Gaza. Someone got a handful of her hair again, dragged her out of that car, and put her in a back room at the hospital. Someone stretched out her arm and tied it to a stiff pieceof plastic. She spent 3 days in the back room and was ordered to put on a hijab (a head covering). She was taken to the hospital surgery room, where she was operated on without anesthesia and told she would not go home alive. (Note:It is obvious that the surgeon knew there was a hostage in the hospital.) The next day, she was told to film a propaganda video and say she was being taken care of if she didn�t want to die. From there, she was taken to a family home occupied by a Hamas terrorist, his wife, and an unspecified number of children. She was put in a dark room and told she could notspeak, move, cry, or be seen, and she was being watched 24/7. Schem said the entire family (father, wife, and children) was involved with Hamas, and the wife said her husband wanted to rape her. Schem said she felt like an animal; the children would sometimes open the door and stare at her; she never got to take a shower; she often had to go without anything to eatfor 2 or 3 days; she never got medications; and she had trouble sleeping. At some point, the terrorists started moving her from home to home in an ambulance, and she became aware of what other families are like. When the truce started, she was moved to a tunnel where she met some of the other hostages, and she spent 4 or 5 days there without food. At the TV interviews, and after spending 54 days in Gaza, Schem said: •It is important for the world to understand what the people in Gaza are like. •I experienced Hell. •Everyone there (in Gaza) is a terrorist. •There are no innocent civilians, not one. •(Innocent civilians (don�t exist) there (in Gaza). •From the moment they are born, the children in Gaza are taught to hate Jews.  Concerning some of my thoughts about what Schem said, it is important to understand that: •In 2006, the Palestinians elected Hamas to rule over them, and 2 of their main goals were killing Jews and destroying the nation of Israel. •Hamas was trying to do what the Palestinian people elected them to do. •Hamas has not let the Red Cross visit the hostages to check on their care (a basic human right). •Hamas raped, tortured, and killed innocent Jewish men, women, and children just because they hated them, and Israel has videos and other evidence to prove it. •Other hostages have similar stories about how they were treated. •Palestinians are demonstrating all over the world and calling for the death of Jews and the destruction of Israel. •The Israeli military would not need to be in Gaza if the Palestinians and their allies were not like they are. •Palestinian parents know what was in the textbooks they used at school; they know that their children are being taught to hate Jews and more. Please do not misunderstand me. I do not think it is possible to view the pictures of devastation, crying and injured children, and not feel compassion for the people of Gaza, but the parents brought iton themselves and their children. God said He will bless those that bless Israel and curse those that curse Israel, but they have rejected the Bible as the Word of God. A famous sermon says, �It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of an angry God?� Israel is clearly fed up with the attempts to destroy Jews in their own land. Here are some current events that seem to relate to Bible prophecy: One, concerning an increase in wars and rumors of wars at theend of the age: on Jan. 4, 2024, it was reported that 12 nations (the U.S., Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, and Britain) sent a letter to the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen that said: �Let our message now be clear: We call for the immediate end of these illegal attacks, and the release of unlawfully detained vessels and crews.� �The Houthis will bear the responsibility of the consequences should they continue to threaten lives, the global economy, and free flow of commerce in the region�s criticalwaterways.� A Biden administration official said the Houthis should not expect a second warning. (Update:Just a few hours after the nations sent the letter to the Houthis, the Iran-backed group carried out a failed attack on another ship.) Two, concerning God�s promise to draw the Jews back to the PromisedLand at the end of the age: on Jan. 1, 2024, it was reported that there has been an increase in the desire of Jews to relocate to Israel since the Israel-Hamas war began on Oct. 7, 2023, and one of the main reasons is their �profound sense of connection andsolidarity with the Jewish people and their homeland.� The fact that there is an increase in Jews wanting to relocate to Israel while a war is going on is encouraging to those who are already there. Think about this: While Hamas is killing Palestinian citizens, world leaders are trying to protect Hamas from Israel. Four, the Bible teaches that Israel will expand its borders atthe end of the age and ultimately end up with all the Promised Land. On Jan. 3, 2024, 3 legal experts from law schools in Israel and the U.S. submitted a document to Israel�s political leaders that says international law does not require Israelto allow the Palestinians to return to their homes in northern Gaza as long as the fighting continues, and Israel�s enemies are holding hostages. The legal experts added that even if the war ends, preventing the movement of Israel�s enemies is legal warfare. As I understand what I have been reading, Israel is willing to allow Palestinians to return to most (Israel wants a buffer zone) of northern Gaza under the condition thatthe Palestinians will not threaten or attack Israel. Israel is fed up and demanding an end to the attacks. Five, concerning world government: on Jan. 7, 2024, it was reportedthat Tucker Carlson interviewed a world-renowned biologist who said: •There is scientific evidence that shows that Covid vaccinations killed 17 million people worldwide. •Using vaccinations that damage the immune system of children means they will have a damaged immune system for the rest of their life. •Pandemics and mass vaccinations are part of the UN�s plan to transform itself into a world government. •The World Health Organization (WHO) is drafting new measures that will destroy national sovereignty and free speech as we know it. Six, concerning the Tribulation Period: on Jan. 5, 2024, the IsraelToday Staff posted an article about an unidentified commander (identity withheld for security purposes) in Israel�s Southern Command. After talking about the fighting that he and his troops went through in a TV interview, the commander was asked for his interpretation of what happened and is happening. He referenced Jer. 30:7, �Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it; it is even the time of Jacob�s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.� The time of Jacob�s trouble is one of the names of the Tribulation Period. According to the Bible: •As an unbeliever, Jacob�s name was Jacob, but when he became a believer, God changed his name to Israel (Gen. 35:10-12). •Israel will come back into existence as a nation before the Tribulation Period (Isa. 66:7-8). •Israel will have to go through the Tribulation Period (Dan. 9:24-27). •All Israel will be saved (Rom. 11:26). The Israel-Hamas war is not the Tribulation Period (time of unbelieving Israel�s trouble; the Church is still here; there is no world government, etc.), but the Israeli commanderis right: this war could be a major step in that direction (and lead to Israel�s salvation at the end of the Tribulation Period). Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024 (Day 90): The thirty-fifth day of the resumed war. •Israel has placed its forces on her border with Lebanon on high alert. •Israel warned that they will only allow world leaders a short period of time to get Hezbollah away from Israel�s border with Lebanon. •Israel said Hezbollah has a network of tunnels in Lebanon that is more sophisticated and dangerous than the Hamas tunnels in the Gaza Strip. •There is growing concern about oil and gas prices if the war continues. •Israel blew up a tunnel several hundred meters long with several side tunnels, and several (about 20) terrorists in the main tunnel were all killed. There may have been terroristsin the side tunnels killed, too. •Israel said Hamas is putting children on the front lines while its troops are hiding in tunnels. •Hezbollah leader Nasrallah said all land from the river to the sea is Palestinian land and all Jews should be removed. •Israel released a plan for limited Palestinian self-rule of Gaza, with Israel in charge of security after the war. •A U.S. airstrike killed an Iranian-backed terrorist leader in Iraq.
