Rapture or WW III -

Rapture or WW III - Terry James - http://www.raptureready.com/rap16.html

ISIL is on the move. All of fundamentalist Islam has one goal: world dominion. North Korea constantly badgers South Korea and threatens to send its several launch-ready, nuclear-tipped missiles in our direction. China seeks hegemony over all its Asian sphere of influence. Iran declares it will have its nuclear program, while at the same time promising to wipe Israel off the planet. And now, Vladimir Putin threatens everyone who opposes his way of doing things with the launch of Russia's 5,000 nuclear missiles. President Obama's administration responds to all this by drastically cutting America's military capability, even to the point of unilaterally depleting US nuclear weaponry until it exists no more.

It's enough to cause one to wonder if there is even a modicum of possibility for one to exist much past the end of the year 2014.

There has never been a weapon developed that hasn't at some point been used, is the saying I've heard many times. I don't recall any case of the neutron bomb being employed in warfare or, for that matter, the hydrogen bomb. However, the very use of these weapons of mass destruction in testing them means they have at least been used in the psychological aspects of potential warfare. This, in fact, is a part of hostilities between the great superpowers known as MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction). I guess they, in this manner, have been used to prevent warfare so horrific as to threaten the end of all flesh on planet earth.

Jesus told us about this possibility, didn't He?

And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. (Revelation 24:22)

He was speaking about the Tribulation era--the last seven years of human history just before He will return in the Second Advent. That is the instant He will break through the blackness of the last moments of the war of Armageddon as described in Revelation 19:11. So, at least those of us who believe the Bible and in Jesus Christ for salvation, are assured there will not be all-out nuclear warfare that will end life on earth. From the description of some passages in Bible prophecy, however, it certainly does appear that nuclear weaponry will likely be unleashed to some degree.

For example, Zechariah the prophet foretold:

And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. (Zechariah 14:12)

That description can, of course, mean that this is a supernatural affliction of some sort that the Lord will use against Israel's enemies. Most who know the science of these horrific weapons in today's nuclear arsenals, though, think Zechariah here described the effects of nuclear war on the human body. Particularly, I've heard it expressed, this describes almost perfectly what would be the effects of the neutron bomb--a weapon that is designed to destroy flesh and blood, but not other materials, such as buildings, etc.

Those of us of a certain age remember well all the threats of nuclear war. Those of my generation remember the old "duck and cover" television and movie theater public service announcements. These were for us kids, telling us to "duck and cover" if we heard air raid sirens or saw the bright flash of a hydrogen bomb.

We laugh at these ludicrous exhortations now. We were to jump off our bicycles and jump in a ditch or behind a garbage can when a 10-plus megaton hydrogen weapon discharged over our town!

We survived all those years of the Cold War. Our leaderships of nations who possessed those bombs were of sufficient sanity to know that there would be no winners, only losers, in such an exchange. Judging the madness surrounding this generation, we must seriously ask the question: Are today's leaders capable of avoiding use of these civilization-ending horror weapons?

If we look at North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, the answer is a resounding no, I think. But, even that paunch-bellied little tyrant must know somewhere in the back of his evil brain that he would end up melted into the glass parking lot his domain would become if he decided to launch his very limited nuclear arsenal.

On the other hand, the macho Vladimir Putin is quite another matter. He threatens nuclear war almost routinely these days. And, he has probably the most plentiful stockpile of such weaponry on earth.

Russia's President Vladimir Putin has threatened the West with his country's 5,000 nuclear warheads.

Putin has raised the specter of nuclear war for the third time in the past two months as he and Western countries such as the United States clash over the Ukraine conflict, which has been bringing to light other deep-seated animosity.

Putin made his latest comments while en route to the annual Asia-Europe Meeting in Milan, a summit of 50 nations.

"We hope that our partners will realize the recklessness of attempts to blackmail Russia, and will remember the risks that a spat between major nuclear powers means for strategic stability," Putin told Serbian newspaper Political. ("World War 3: Vladimir Putin Threatens West with Russia's 5,000 Nuclear Warheads," Epoch Times, 10/20/14)

The Russian president has bragged several times recently about his arsenal of more than 5,000 nuclear weapons when talking with other leaders. He is particularly chagrined over the sanctions imposed over his treatment of Ukraine. Falling world oil prices--due in part to fracking taking place in North Dakota and other places, which are diminishing Russia's leverage in petroleum markets in the region he wants to dominate--are also contributing to his bellicose attitude and to not-so-subtle threats these days.

The difference between days of the Cold War and these times is that there is no superpower willing to stand up to the Russian strong man, like when Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, et al, were willing to look Stalin, Khrushchev, Brezhnev, and the likes in the eye and draw lines across which no dictator dared cross. Instead, the United States draws down its nuclear arsenal while Putin flexes and struts on the stage of end times history.

Which brings us to the title of this commentary: "Rapture or WWIII."

My own studied and prayerfully considered opinion is that while threats (rumors) of war and even hostilities like we are witnessing from ISIL, Hamas, and occasionally other volatile players around the world will continue, there will be no world-rending war this side of the Rapture of the church. When the church is taken into Heaven by Jesus Christ, madness upon planet earth will likely be more the norm, rather than the exception. We can already see that trend developing, even at this late hour as the Lord of Heaven slowly, measurably, takes His Mighty Hand off the affairs of rebellious mankind.

When the Holy Spirit removes and sin is allowed to run wild, the notion of Mutually Assured Destruction will no longer inhibit the thinking of power mad dictators.

Undoubtedly, it will be threatened, all-out, nuclear war that will bring the false man of peace to his earthly throne. Antichrist will supposedly have the answers to stop the coming holocaust. But, he, of course, will ultimately throw fuel on that conflagration.

The true Prince of Peace--the Lord Jesus Christ--will then ride to the rescue.

This is to let our Rapture Ready Family know that Todd Strandberg, who, as many of you know, founded the Rapture Ready website in 1987, will undergo heart bypass surgery Monday, October 27, at 11 a.m. CDT.

Todd was diagnosed this past week with having some occluded blood vessels surrounding his heart, requiring bypass surgery. Please keep him and the Rapture Ready website in prayer.

We are Trusting the Lord to bring Todd through this trial in fine fashion. His age, at 49, is in his favor for complete recovery in the earliest possible time frame.

I will keep you advised of how things are progressing.

Again, please keep your prayers for Todd before the Throne.

Blessings to all,

God's 6000 year plan

God's 6000 year plan - Jeffrey Gante -  http://www.examiner.com/article/god-s-6000-year-plan

Is a 6000 year plan for earth true? Does that mean the end is near? Jesus and His apostles once told us to watch for signs of the end of the age and the coming of Christ. But people have been watching for centuries since the death and resurrection of Christ. Why should we be any closer now? What makes our generation so special?

Many Christians (myself included) believe that God does indeed have a 6000 year plan before bringing an end to normal human history by the second coming of Christ-plus a 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ on earth after that (Rev. 20:4-6). We come to that conclusion by interpreting scripture with scripture.

When we read Genesis chapter 1, we see that God created the sky, sun, moon, stars, sea, earth, grass, trees, vegetation, birds, sea creatures, land animals, and humans in 6 days. "Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day." (Genesis 1:31, NKJV) Then what did God do?

Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. - Genesis 2:1-3, NKJV

God rested on the 7th day after six days of incredible creations. We will see as we continue to examine scripture why that is significant to a 7000 year plan for humanity.

First let's see just how important it was to God to remember a time of rest in a couple of other situations.

8 "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. - Exodus 20:8-11, NKJV

1 And the Lord spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai, saying, 2 "Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: 'When you come into the land which I give you, then the land shall keep a sabbath to the Lord. 3 Six years you shall sow your field, and six years you shall prune your vineyard, and gather its fruit; 4 but in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath to the Lord. - Leviticus 25:1-4a, NKJV

God set a standard for Israel, built into their theocratic commandments, to work for 6 days of the week and then keep the 7th day as a sabbath day of rest to the Lord. He permanently put the week of creation in remembrance for them. He also deliberately symbolized the week of creation by giving them instructions for a 6-year period of work and a 1-year period of rest after they acquire their promised land, which they would later name Israel-as it still is today.

Now stay with me. We are building up to something.

One of the psalmists revealed a significant time-principle of God from a song of Moses:

For a thousand years in Your sight are like yesterday when it is past, and like a watch in the night. - Psalm 90:4, NKJV

God has made it a point to include in His divinely inspired Word (II Tim. 3:16: II Peter 1:20,21) that He considers one day the same as 1000 years (a millennium). The apostle Peter also supported that truth as He speaks of the judgment of God that is coming on the day of the Lord.

But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. - II Peter 3:7,8, NKJV

Why did Peter tell us not to forget about God's time-principle? Because it matters. What I believe Peter has just implied is this. I will paraphrase what I believe we can understand from his revelation. "God has a 6000 year plan, to equal the first 6 days of creation, before He will bring a final judgment upon the earth and unbelievers at the second coming of Christ (see Rev. 16; II Thes. 1:7-10)."

Then comes the 7th day of rest. Then comes the 7th millenium of rest. God prophesied of this final "day" of rest.

It shall come to pass in the day the Lord gives you rest from your sorrow, and from your fear and the hard bondage in which you were made to serve. - Isaiah 14:3, NKJV

8 "Do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, as in the day of trial in the wilderness,
9 when your fathers tested Me; They tried Me, though they saw My work. 10 For forty years I was grieved with that generation, and said, 'It is a people who go astray in their hearts, and they do not know My ways.' 11 So I swore in My wrath, 'They shall not enter My rest.'" Psalm 95:8-11, NKJV

God warned that many people will not enter that period of rest because of unbelief and rebellion. The writer of Hebrews also touches on the future rest God has promised.

1 Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. 2 For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. 3 For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: "So I swore in My wrath, 'They shall not enter My rest,'" although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: "And God rested on the seventh day from all His works"; 5 and again in this place: "They shall not enter My rest." 6 Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience, 7 again He designates a certain day, saying in David, "Today," after such a long time, as it has been said: "Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts." 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. 9 There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. 10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. 11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. - Hebrews 4:1-11, NKJV

That few verses really ties it together regarding God's promise of a future day of rest comparable to His rest on the seventh day. When we look at the other scriptures previous to that, specifically God's time-principle of "1000 years equals 1 day", we come to the conclusion that there is a 6000 year plan for mankind to be accomplished before the final millennium of rest. We know for a biblical fact that there will be a one-thousand year period after God's judgment comes on earth when Jesus Christ will reign on earth.

1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. ...Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. - Revelation 20:1-6a, NKJV

Of course there will be a time of rest if Satan is bound for 1000 years, no longer able to promote great evil upon earth. Of course there will be rest if Jesus Christ Himself is ruling supreme on earth for 1000 years. Dead saints who have been resurrected at Christ's second coming on the last day (of the 6000 year period, John 6:39,40), will actually be given positions of authority in the millennium.

The bottom line is this. Admittedly, it is speculation that God is operating on a 6000 year plan. But we do have a good biblical reason. We know that there is going to be a 1000 year period of rest to compare to God's 7th day of rest, so we believe there will also be a 6000 year period to equal the six days of creation.

That is why many Christians actually believe the end is near. Many of us believe that we are very near to the end of that 6000 year period. Why do we say that?

A Christian in the 16th century named Bishop James Ussher was able to estimate that there were 4004 years from the beginning of creation up to the time of Jesus' birth. He did so by piecing together geneologies from Genesis chapters 5 and 11, along with other events scattered throughout the Old Testament. His conclusions are very realistic to anyone who takes the Bible literally.

Of course we are now in the year 2014. It is common sense that God's timeline of 6000 years have not been kept perfectly aligned by the finite minds of mankind as we have organized calendars over time and in different nations since the life of Christ. We can't know just how close we are to the true end of six thousand years. But that is why Jesus told us to watch for signs of His coming.

8 Potential Disasters That Could Jolt Us Into an Awakening

8 Potential Disasters That Could Jolt Us Into an Awakening - Larry Tomczak - http://www.charismanews.com/opinion/heres-the-deal/45841-8-potential-disasters-that-could-jolt-us-into-an-awakening

The stillness of the morning calm was about to be shattered by a series of explosions that would alter the course of human history. The time: 7:50 a.m. The date: Sunday, December 7, 1941. The place: Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

More than 300 Japanese airplanes were swarming toward the harbor. Within a short time, the bombers damaged eight battleships, destroying three - including the USS Arizona, which sank with 1,102 sailors on board. The Hickam and Wheeler air bases lost 177 planes. More than 2,400 servicemen and women lost their lives. The infamous, surprise attack would launch an entire nation into World War II.

But was this disaster really a surprise?

While the Japanese warplanes were still almost an hour away, two American soldiers on a small island in the Pacific scanned their radar and saw dots begin to fill their screen, representing the first wave of more than 180 bomber planes. The men notified their supervisor who unfortunately was an inexperienced novice. He shrugged off the situation with a ho-hum, "Don't worry about it."

Twenty-nine years earlier, a gargantuan "unsinkable" ocean liner left her British port on her maiden voyage to New York. Just before midnight on April 14, 1912, the Titanic struck an iceberg. Two-and-a-half hours later, the "unsinkable" vessel slipped beneath the icy waters with most of her passengers.

Such a large loss of life also didn't have to be. At the time of the disaster, less than 20 miles away and in sight of each other, another ship, the Californian, sat stationary in the Atlantic Ocean. With the time and capacity to save multiple hundreds of the Titanic's victims, what happened?

Someone on the Californian, who should have known better, ignored the potential for danger and simply decided to turn off the radio that night contributing to the loss of 1,513 lives.

Here's the deal: Scripture exhorts us to "make the most of every opportunity" (Col. 4:5).  As strange as it may sound, I believe disaster is coming to our shores to help bring us back to God. Yet in the face of America's imminent judgment (although probably not the final one), multitudes go on with business as usual instead of readjusting priorities and better investing time to prepare for what's ahead.

Is it ultimately going to take a nightmarish calamity to jolt multitudes out of complacency and passivity in Christendom today? Remember what Jonathan Edwards in America's first Great Awakening said: The primary hindrance to revival is spiritual pride, and nothing obliterates this vice like being humbled and brought to new dependence on God alone amidst a disaster.

Remember Psalm 107:39, "Then their numbers decreased, and they were humbled by oppression, calamity and sorrow."

5 Places Where World War Three Could Break Out

5 Places Where World War Three Could Break Out - James Hardy - http://nationalinterest.org/feature/5-places-where-world-war-three-could-break-out-11487

It seems these days the world is literally on fire. Conflict continues on and off in Ukraine, there are tensions throughout the Asia-Pacific, Ebola is on the rampage, ISIS continues its bloody war of attrition throughout Syria, into Iraq and on and on. Yet, could something even worse be on the horizon-a conflict with more-severe global ramifications?

Before we begin this foray into the five places where World War Three could break out, I should note a few qualifiers and weasel words.

First off, what's World War Three? As illustrated by the Ukraine crisis and the Obama administration's struggle to define what is going on in Syria/Northern Iraq, "20th-Century Industrial War" is out of fashion and has been for some time.

Some of the predictions below envisage regime collapse that leads to war, while the specter of a terrorist WMD attack has the capacity to turn apocalyptic very quickly. That said, this might just be a phase: state-on-state violence will still be theoretically and practically possible as long as nation-states possess the means to expend blood and treasure.

That's why most of the predictions below examine the possibility of conventional strike and counterstrike between nations. No nuclear-armed power-whether it is the United States, China or Russia-would accept defeat to a peer competitor in conventional warfare without then inflicting the maximum penalty on its opponent.

That is one very good reason why World War Three as we know it is unlikely to happen; it is also why all of the possibilities mentioned below involve nuclear-armed-or potentially nuclear-armed-entities.

North Korea vs. the World:

News out of Pyongyang over the last several weeks that Kim Jong-un is feeling unwell has reminded people that Northeast Asia contains its very own brand of extremist Kool-Aid drinkers. The smart line on North Korea is that its "provocations," to use the accepted term, are graduated steps in a controlled game of escalation that Kim plays to receive concessions in the form of aid or economic largesse from the international community.

The current talks between North Korea and Japan over the longstanding abduction issue are just one particularly cruel variation on this, where Pyongyang is trying to leverage the political importance of the abductees in Japan at a moment where both sides are short of allies in Northeast Asia.

The "provocation" theory works fine until you realize that at the end of the day, North Korea is still developing a nuclear-weapons program and mobile systems to deliver atomic-tipped warheads. Meanwhile, South Korea is building its own deterrent in the form of the "kill chain," which ambitiously proposes knocking out Pyongyang's nuclear weapons before they can leave the ground. Throw in the fact that China appears to have lost patience-and more importantly, influence-in North Korea since the purging and execution of Jang Song Thaek, and the situation on the peninsula becomes a lot less predictable.

For sure, North Korea's behavior is grounded in the absolute logic of regime survival. But if Kim dies or can no longer ensure that the Pyongyang elite benefit from his rule, then all bets are off.

China vs. India (vs. Pakistan)

The border confrontation between India and China that was finally de-escalated on September 27 after nearly three weeks is the latest illustration of just how uneasy relations can be between these two massive neighbors. The recent arrival of a PLA Navy Type 039 submarine in Sri Lanka-China's westernmost foray with a submarine-is another sign that Delhi and Beijing's strategic priorities may clash.

Other than history and bloody-mindedness, there is no real reason why the two countries would be destined to go to war. China has concluded a number of successful negotiations with its land neighbors over border disputes-the Line of Actual Control is the only remaining dispute, in fact-and India has the strategic position and military power to exert regional supremacy over the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). The natural borders of the Himalayas and southeast Asia have created geographical spheres of influence that should keep both sides happy.

However, Beijing's "all-weather friendship" with Pakistan and its moves into the Indian Ocean threaten India's regional hegemony, while India's "Look East" policy is unwelcome to China because it allies Delhi with Vietnam and Japan. This kind of strategic competition-along with bad decisions at flashpoints such as Ladakh and Kashmir-could lead to escalation from which neither side could step away.

Middle East Imbroglio

The ongoing situation in the Middle East-whether it's the Islamic State, Iraq, Gaza, Syria, Iran, Israel, Lebanon or the fallout from the Arab Spring-is so perplexing, confusing, horrific and insurmountable that the only thing we can say in its favor is that at least it has not led to World War Three.

For this to happen, the nuclear balance in the region would have to go irrevocably out of kilter. One obvious way this could happen: Iran getting the bomb and in response, Israel using its "widely suspected unmentionables."

Another possibility deserving more scrutiny than it gets is whether the Saudis would upgrade their DF-3 ballistic missiles with DF-21s-something that is heavily rumored-or fit the older, less accurate DF-3s with nuclear warheads.

Another element of this scenario is the question of which way these missiles would be pointed-at Iran or Israel?

Other regional wildcards include the North Koreans helping out the Assad regime, or the Islamic State somehow capturing a previously unknown stockpile of fissile material and having the brainpower to weaponize it.

In this light, U.S. attempts to prevent Iran from getting the bomb make even more sense; why it is not equally scrutinizing Saudi Arabia's intentions in this area, less so.

Russia vs. NATO:

Before the air campaign against the Islamic State took over the news cycle, the biggest story of the year was what exactly was going to happen in east Ukraine. The shooting down of an airliner, multiple border violations by Russian troops and the annexation of Crimea had added up to force a major reevaluation by the West of its relationship with Vladimir Putin's Russia.

The speed and intelligence of the Russian campaign bodes ill for NATO and other multilateral organizations such as the EU, which have been hamstrung by a committee-led approach to decision making that slows down their response times.

In fairness to NATO, the alliance is aware of this and has made a number of attempts to bolster its position in eastern Europe. At the Wales summit in September, it began to work out of the details of a Readiness Action Plan that will include very rapid reaction forces and deploying pre-positioned equipment and supplies along its eastern frontier.

The new force will be in contrast to what IHS Jane's correspondent Brooks Tigner brilliantly described as "the distinctly un-rapid NATO Response Force (NRF), which currently needs months to deploy its full force of 20,000-plus troops and equipment."

NATO also needs to work out a way to win the information war, which Putin has managed as adeptly as any confrontations on the ground in Ukraine.

These tactical considerations aside, at the heart of the issue is NATO's eastward move, which Russia unsurprisingly opposes, and Moscow's assertion that it had the right to "protect" Russian-speaking minorities in other countries, which NATO would have to react to if member nations such as the Baltic states or Poland were threatened.

China vs. America (via Taiwan, Japan or the South China Sea)

Last and definitely not least, the biggest potential conflict of all. The threat of the "Thucydides Trap"-that of a rising power and a preeminent power ending up at war-has become a notable talking point in Sino-U.S. relations in recent years.

Some analysts argue that Thucydides' analysis of the Sparta-Athens relationship is a poor analogy for that between China and the United States.  However, it is undeniable that China's rise and military buildup changes the balance of power and dangerously affects enough points of friction in northeast Asia.

The most dangerous feature of these friction points is that they involve third parties: the South China Sea, Japan, Taiwan or North Korea could all spark a localized conflict that quickly gets out of hand. The most dangerous, in my view, are the territorial disputes that could be contested in the maritime sphere: that is, in waters and territories close to China that Beijing claims and would likely contest if the status quo changed against its interests.

First up is the potential for conflict between Japan and China over the Senkaku/Diaoyu islands, which are covered by the U.S.-Japan defense treaty, as U.S. deputy defense secretary Robert Work reiterated just recently.

Another potential flashpoint is the South China Sea, where the Philippines-another U.S. treaty ally-is increasingly alarmed by Chinese island building in the Spratly Islands. The United States has been more reticent about helping Manila out than it has been about jumping to Tokyo's defense, but both areas fall within what China calls its "core interests": code for something it's happy to fight for.

Probably the biggest unresolved "core interest," however, is Taiwan. The dramatic swinging of the military balance away from Taiwan and towards China has been one of the biggest changes to East Asian security in the past fifteen years.

Ian Easton of the Project 2049 Institute recently asserted that "contrary to reports, Taiwan has the capacity to deny air superiority to China, and it is likely to maintain this capability well into the future." That may be so, but in any contingency, that real issue would be the U.S. response. Washington's "abandonment" of Taiwan would have devastating consequences for its reputation as an alliance partner, and so would force it to come to the island's defense. In doing so, the U.S. military would find itself within range of Chinese systems that are specifically developed to deny this.

A direct hit on a U.S. aircraft carrier by China's DF-21D ASBM would take the situation to the next level, while any attack on U.S. bases in Japan would bring Tokyo into the war. What happened after that would depend on the appetite of both sides for ongoing conventional conflict-or whether leaders in either country would feel compelled to push the button.

15 'Signs of the Times' Indicating Judgment

The Bible warns us about saying "everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation" (1 Pet. 3:4) when judgment is at hand. We know that God is "patient not wanting anyone to perish" (v.9), but there comes a time when the gavel falls!

After Hurricane Katrina, I spoke with a former resident of Louisiana. He told me he grew up hearing warnings of levies breaking but folks simply tuned it out when nothing happened. This describes America today.

If you fell asleep like a Rip Van Winkle for 30 years and awoke today, imagine how shocked you would be at what happened to America.

1. Divorce: Increased from 4% to 51% in one generation.

2. Cohabitation: 65% of "altar-bound" singles live together, a euphemism for lifestyle fornication.

3. Abortion: 57 million unborn babies aborted, some with taxpayer funding and now part of socialized medicine.

4. Marijuana: Being legalized in several states.

5. Euthanasia and Infanticide: Being legalized under camouflage names.

6. Pornography: Rampant, graphic, just a "click away" on hand-held devices.

7. Homosexuality, lesbian and transgender lifestyles: Promoted even by our president along with gay marriage and homosexual ordinations.

8. Movies and music: Standards almost nonexistent with graphic nudity, profanity and blasphemy commonplace.

9. Out-of-wedlock births: 1st time in U.S history - more than 50%.

10. Sexually transmitted diseases: Over 110 million in our population infected.

11. Economic insanity: $18 trillion national debt; millions unemployed deriving benefits; $60 billion in annual Medicare fraud and waste.

12. Illegal immigration: Over 11 million and politicians pushing open borders and amnesty.

13. Political leaders: Corruption, incompetence and deception at all levels.

14. Radical Islam and terrorism: Exploding in regions of the world with an increasingly vulnerable America dismantling militarily and docile politicians calling it a "peaceful religion."

15. Should we add illiteracy... crime... catastrophic fatherlessness... human trafficking... adultery... profane comedians...an ignorant and low information populace? How about the ongoing erosion of our religious freedoms and secularism taking over society? And last but not least, how about a Laodicean, apostate church compromising and lacking the courage to address the defining issues of our day with clarity and conviction while defining success in terms of happy sermons, attendance, offerings, number of staff, programs and square footage?

Do we see the "handwriting on the wall" that we are at an unprecedented tipping point? Are we aware that America is rapidly spiraling into a lawless culture similar to Germany of a generation ago?

My wife and her parents are German and they will tell you an educated and civilized nation moved from democracy to dictatorship and then demise in less than six years! A once-thriving nation can have its heritage and faith so decimated that history records it as a tragic collapse.

Our Only  Hope for Turnaround is a Heaven-sent Awakening That May Require A Calamity to Jumpstart

As long as things continue to run somewhat smoothly on the surface, we have an amazing ability to cope and carry-on, all the while making flimsy excuses for compromise and a comfortable "Christianity."

* "I don't like what's happening in America on so many issues, but it's not      really affecting me or my family."

* "I prefer they not schedule soccer games on Sunday morning but I guess we can live with it. As a family we try to make it to church at least twice a month unless we need to catch up on our rest."

* "I wish our pastor would address these critical issues but his role model is Joel Osteen so he avoids controversy."

* "I grew up with Sunday school, Sunday evening and Wednesday evening services but times have changed and I guess we can get by with a brief Sunday service."

* "Our worship leader is gay, I think, and the primary singer is living with her boyfriend but it's probably best not to stir up problems."

* "I wish our church gave out voter guides so we knew where candidates stand but since we're in a building program, leadership said they don't want to jeopardize fundraising."
?"Our pastors tell us they don't put out any lawn signs for candidates or  speak about anything political because of separation of church and state."
?         "We got the evite for the citywide gathering to pray for transformation in our city but it's the same night of Dancing With the Stars finale and we just can't miss it."

"I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So because you are lukewarm - neither hot nor cold - I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked" (Rev. 3:15-17).

8 Potential Disasters to Awaken Us?

Will it take another stock market crash, severe financial recession or, God forbid, global economic collapse to get our attention?

Might it take a series of beheadings and coordinated Islamic terrorist attacks in malls and cities by ISIS supporters slipping through unprotected borders to wake us up?

Would a massive power outage shutting down computers and canceling NFL games nationwide strike fear into the hearts of citizens and sober us to the urgency of the hour?

How about an airborne Ebola virus outbreak and the "pestilences and diseases" (Matt. 24:7) Jesus predicted at the end of the age? Maybe a mass migration of infected Central Americans streaming through our porous Southern border?

Perhaps the beginning of war in the Middle East as Jerusalem is surrounded by enemies (Luke 21:20) and Iran launches the "bomb" on Israel causing catastrophic disruption in the Straits of Hormuz (where 20% of the total world's gas supply passes)? Recall the long gas lines of 1973?

Friends and family "handed over to be persecuted and put to death...hated by all nations because of Me" (Matt. 24:9)? Imagine us saying what a Chinese pastor, Huang Yizi, said this week upon being arrested in a government crackdown: "I am grateful to God for the opportunity to go to jail."

Perhaps the very real, dreaded, catastrophic EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) attack causing unimaginable devastation by paralyzing America as all power lines burn out and all goes dark instantly? USA Today stated: "Cities darken, food spoils and homes fall silent. Civilization collapses." Cause: One terrorist A-bomb or a severe solar storm.

Massive earthquake(s) as Jesus foretold (Matt. 24:7). Scientist Dr. Lucy Jones issued a dire warning on Oct. 15 to the L.A. City Council of the effects: "Infrastructure crippled; power grid and communications knocked out; water supply disrupted; 1,800 fatalities, 53,000 injured and ½ the buildings unusable." [Note: This is not the inevitable "Big One" set for San Francisco.]

                                 Awakening From Spiritual Coma

After the disaster of 9/11, people flocked to church buildings, prayer meetings mushroomed and streets were lined with marquees calling for God's blessing on America. We got our wake up call and people were motivated to seek the living God as atheists and the ACLU were silenced.

Unfortunately, we hit the snooze button and fell back asleep. African pastors gathering in D.C. stated it this way just a week ago: "America is in a spiritual coma!"

Providentially, the same week over 100 churches gathered at the Lincoln Memorial in our Nation's Capital to cry out to God for one thing - spiritual awakening in the United States of America.

In the time of Esther, things looked bleak and God's people were very discouraged at the prospect of a national disaster. But through prayer, fasting, seeking God and Spirit-led action, God intervened to save the day. "Who knows if you've come into the Kingdom for such a time as this?" (Esther 4:14) was spoken over one believer. As the clock is ticking, can you hear God issuing you and me the same challenge?

15 Signs That We Live During A Time Of Rampant Government Paranoia

15 Signs That We Live During A Time Of Rampant Government Paranoia - By Michael Snyder - http://endoftheamericandream.com/archives/15-signs-that-we-live-during-a-time-of-rampant-government-paranoia

How does it feel to live under a government that is getting even more paranoid with each passing day?  Yes, we live in a world that is becoming increasingly unstable, but that is no excuse for how ultra-paranoid the federal government has become.  Today, every single one of us is viewed as a "potential threat" by the government.  As a result, the government feels the need to intercept our emails, record our phone calls and track our expenditures.  But they aren't just spying on individuals.  The government keeps tabs on thousands of organizations all over the planet, it spies on our enemies and our allies, and it even spies on itself.  The American people are told that the emerging Big Brother police state is for our safety, but the truth is that it isn't there to protect us.  It is there to protect them.  Our government has become kind of like a crazy rich uncle that is constantly spying on everyone else in the family because he believes that they are "out to get him".  The following are 15 signs that we live during a time of rampant government paranoia...

#1 Former CBS News reporter Sharyl Attkisson says that the federal government was so concerned about her reporting on Benghazi, Fast and Furious and other Obama scandals that they hacked her computer, monitored every keystroke and even planted classified material in an apparent attempt to potentially frame her.

#2 The United States has become the nation of the "permanent emergency".  In fact, there has been at least one "state of emergency" in effect in this country since 1979.

#3 In America today, almost everyone is considered to be a criminal.  At this point, nearly one out of every three Americans has a file in the FBI's master criminal database.

#4 Most people don't realize this, but the FBI also systematically records talk radio programs.  The FBI says that it is looking for "potential evidence".

#5 In Wisconsin, 24 armed police officers are an armored military vehicle were recently sent to collect a civil judgment from a 75-year-old retiree.  It is being reported that officials feared that he might be "argumentative".

#6 According to guidelines that were recently made public, purchasing Amtrak train tickets with cash is considered to be "suspicious activity" and needs to be reported to the authorities.

#7 The IRS can now seize your bank accounts on suspicion alone.  If you are successful fighting the IRS in court, you might get your money back years later.

#8 Thousands of Americans have their mail spied on by the U.S. Postal Service.  If you are on "the list", all of your mail and packages are shown to a supervisor before they are delivered to you.

#9 Most people don't realize that the U.S. border is now considered to be a "Constitution-free zone" where officials can freely grab your computer and copy your hard drive.

#10 The feds have apparently become extremely concerned about what all of us are saying on the Internet.  In fact, they have even been caught manipulating discussions on Reddit and editing Wikipedia.

#11 The U.S. government has become so paranoid that it even spies on our European allies.  Needless to say, our allies over in Europe are quite upset about this but we continue to do it.

#12 To the government, each citizen is a "potential threat", and this justifies the militarization of our entire society.  The following is an excerpt from an excellent commentary by John Whitehead...

Just take a stroll through your city's downtown. Spend an afternoon in your local mall. Get in your car and drive to your parents' house. Catch the next flight to that business conference. While you're doing so, pay careful attention to how you and your fellow citizens are treated by government officials-the ones whose salaries you are paying.

You might walk past a police officer outfitted in tactical gear, holding an assault rifle, or drive past a police cruiser scanning license plates. There might be a surveillance camera on the street corner tracking your movements. At the airport, you may be put through your paces by government agents who will want to either pat you down or run scans of your body. And each time you make a call or send a text message, your communications will most likely be logged and filed. When you return home, you might find that government agents have been questioning your neighbors about you, as part of a "census" questionnaire. After you retire to sleep, you might find yourself awakened by a SWAT team crashing through your door (you'll later discover they were at the wrong address), and if you make the mistake of reaching for your eyeglasses, you might find yourself shot by a cop who felt threatened.

Is this the behavior of a government that respects you? One that looks upon you as having inviolate rights? One that regards you as its employer, its master, its purpose for being?

I don't think so. While this hyper-militarization of the government is being sold to the public as a means of preventing terrorism and maintaining national security, it is little more than a wolf in sheep's clothing. In fact, as I document in my book A Government of Wolves: The Emerging American Police State, what we are dealing with is a police state disguised as a benevolent democracy, a run-away government hyped up on its own power and afraid of its citizenry, whose policies are dictated more by paranoia than need.

#13 As our police departments have become militarized, SWAT team deployments have gone through the roof.  As I wrote about recently, there were only about 3,000 SWAT raids in the United States back in 1980.  But today, there are more than 80,000 SWAT raids per year in this country.

#14 The federal government is so paranoid that it is actually spying on itself.  The "Insider Threat Program" encourages federal employees to closely watch one another and to report any hint of suspicious activity...

The federal effort, called the Insider Threat Program, was launched in October 2011, and it certainly hasn't diminished since Edward Snowden disclosed details of the National Security Agency's domestic spying. As McClatchy reporters Marisa Taylor and Jonathan S. Landay have described, federal employees and contractors are encouraged to keep an eye on allegedly suspicious indicators in their co-workers' lives, from financial troubles to divorce. A brochure produced by the Defense Security Service, titled "INSIDER THREATS: Combating the ENEMY within your organization," sums up the spirit of the program: "It is better to have reported overzealously than never to have reported at all."

#15 Last, but certainly not least, there is the matter of the NSA constantly spying on all of us.  The NSA is monitoring and recording billions of our phone calls and emails, and most Americans don't seem to care.  But they should care.  I like how an article in the New York Post described what is happening to our society...

Through a combination of fear, cowardice, political opportunism and bureaucratic metastasis, the erstwhile land of the free has been transformed into a nation of closely watched subjects - a country of 300 million potential criminals, whose daily activities need constant monitoring.

Once the most secret of organizations, the NSA has become even more famous than the CIA, the public face of Big Brother himself. At its headquarters on Savage Road in Fort Meade, Md., its omnivorous Black Widow supercomputer hoovers up data both foreign and domestic, while its new $2 billion data center near Bluffdale, Utah - the highly classified Intelligence Community Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative Data Center - houses, well, just about everything. As James Bamford wrote in Wired magazine two years ago, as the center was being completed:

"Flowing through its servers and routers and stored in near-bottomless databases will be all forms of communication, including the complete contents of private e-mails, cellphone calls, and Google searches, as well as all sorts of personal data trails - parking receipts, travel itineraries, bookstore purchases, and other digital pocket litter."

So what do you think?

The First Born of the Dead -

The First Born of the Dead - By Pastor Mike Taylor - http://www.churchofgod-usa.org/1/post/2014/10/the-first-born-of-the-dead.html

Revelation 20: 4 "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection."

I have had emails wondering about what is the first resurrection and believing that the rising of the saints will not happen until after the tribulation has played out. They say "Those verses plainly teach that the FIRST resurrection (as in "dead in Christ rising" I Thess. 4:16) takes place AFTER the tribulation saints have resisted the mark of the Beast. How do you think you will be "raptured" before the mark of the Beast, when the Bible plainly says that the first resurrection is AFTER the mark"

People look to these passages and reason that the dead in Christ will not rise until the end of the Tribulation. But are they correct, or are they missing something? I have a dear sister, that I will call "Judy" and emails me all the time with her "proof" of a post tribulation coming of the Lord Jesus, who is adamant that the first resurrection will not take place until after Jesus returns, one time only, at the end of the tribulation. Is she right? Let's see.

THE BEGINNING OF THE FIRST RESURRECTION.

At first glance at the aforementioned scriptures, it would seem to the casual Bible reader that the first resurrection does take place after the tribulation, but we must take the whole of scripture and not take one verse, or a set of verses out of context, as the bible CANNOT contradict itself, as the Word of God supports itself no matter what verse you are reading. A better interpretation of the First Resurrection would be the interpretation of the "resurrection of the righteous"!

Matthew 27:52-53(KJV)

52 "And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many."

The Gospels chronicle the blessed event of the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. By these verses above, the saints who had died believing the promise of the coming of the Messiah were raised to life as well. They believed looking forward to that blessed event, even as we look backward at the completed event, but we both believed. These were saints who had fulfilled the years of their mortal life. As Jesus was the First Fruits of the resurrection, so were these people. Just as Jesus was on the earth for a full 40 days to witness to the masses of Jews that would believe His resurrection, so did these raised saints witness during these 40 days by their being raised to life. They witnessed to many during this time and so are we to believe that after they finished, they just died again? What witness would that be? No, I believe that Jesus took these saints with Him sometime during His days on earth after the resurrection, as Jesus and these resurrected saints were the beginning of the "First Resurrection". As Jesus entered into the heart of the earth, He removed those found in Paradise, as Paul spoke of:

Ephesians 4:8  "Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

4:9  (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

4:10  He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)"

But this was just the start of the resurrection of the righteous or the 1st resurrection...1st Corinthians:

23 "But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power."

If you understand the implication of the verses that speak of Jesus as the first fruit of those born of the dead, then you realize that Jesus also was part of the first resurrection. As with any harvest of fruit, as the term "first fruits", is important, as fruit is gathered in stages, not all at once of many a variety of agricultural products are harvested. So this harvest of God's people will come in stages, but all will be part of the 1st resurrection.

1st Colossians

18: "And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence."

There is no record of these raised saints in subsequent books of the bible, in Acts, or any of the epistles of Paul, that these people did anything but rise from the dead. They had no need to die again, as their sins had been forgiven, as they believed the promise that had just been fulfilled. As Jesus became a new creation with a new body that we will experience, so they also were part of that new creation. We don't know who they were, their names, or where or how far this miracle reached, but we do know that they came to life and were resurrected, just as our Lord was raised. If it was any other way, this fact would have been recorded to further the Gospel.

If we return to the verses in Revelation 20, then we must understand that this is the culmination of the resurrection of the righteous who are called collectively, the First Resurrection. Then if there is a collective series of resurrections, beginning with Jesus Christ, our Lord, then by implication, there must be others or a chronological order of events that will take place that will be called the First Resurrection, not just one.

THE TWO WITNESSES

Let's take a look at another resurrection. Let's look at the raising to life of the two witnesses. Revelation chapter 11:

7 "And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.

10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

11 And after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.

12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them,COME UP HITHER.  And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them."(emphasis mine)

These two prophets are unquestionably part of the first resurrection's company of believers. The assembly which makes up the first fruits harvest contains at least two other groups of believers. It is often overlooked that Rev. 20:4-5 speaks of these two distinct groups.

If you look at the verses in Revelation chapter 20, it shows one group that is sitting on thrones. They can't be angels, as angels are never given authority to rule or to judge. That blessing is given to only one group, and that is the Church. So these judging saints have been resurrected some time before those being resurrected here. The second group are those that were beheaded during the Tribulation period  (Revelation 6:10-11, and  7:9) and ends the chronological order of events called the First Resurrection, or the resurrection of the righteous. They were killed for their faithfulness to Christ, the beheaded faithful are blessed because they have a part (literally, to experience along with others) in the first resurrection. Only by spiritualizing this passage and ignoring the textual details can this group be made to represent all believers of all the ages. John clearly intends a smaller group, every single one of them beheaded. Obviously, not all Christians raised to life will have this detail of being beheaded.

Of the first group, if we go back to Revelation chapter 4, I believe you can grasp who these resurrected saints are and when they were resurrected.

4 "And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold."

These are the symbols of the resurrected saints, called the Church who are part of God's government on the earth. They are not angels, as previously mentioned, but glorified saints before God's throne sitting on thrones with crowns on their heads. (see Lk. 22:30, Rev. 3:21 & I Cor. 6:2-3).

Those sitting on these thrones could not be there, unless Jesus had resurrected them to life before this time. This is confirmed by Matt. 16:27 and Jesus' words found in Rev. 22:12 where He declares, "And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to His work."

As I have preached many times, the tribulation is designed for two things and two things only. First is the refining of Israel as silver is refined in the fire. It will be the most terrible tribulation that will fall upon those who have rejected their Messiah for 2000 years, save for a few who have been shown mercy and their eyes opened to the truth of their Savior. The second truth of the Tribulation is to purge and destroy all who are in direct rebellion against God's Laws, and the blasphemy against God's only Son, Jesus Christ, the Lord. It makes no sense for God to inflict this level of His Holy wrath upon His own bride, as Jesus has paid the price for our sins, and we have no need to be converted to Christ, as that blessing has been accomplished at the cross for all eternity. That would smack of purgatory, or being refined further, as Jesus and His blood just wasn't enough. Was it enough? You know the answer to that one...Yes, it was enough and when He said it was finished, my brethren, indeed it was. No need to refine the church further, as they have been redeemed at the cross.

Rev. 4:4 and 5:8-10 reveal that the Church will have received their reward of crowns before Jesus Christ initiates the Tribulation Period with the breaking of the first seal in Rev. 6:1.

6 "And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see."

This is the beginning of God's wrath, so to begin God's wrath, the church must be removed, as Paul wrote under  the Holy Spirit's  inspiration, "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ", 1stThessalonians 5:9.

1st Peter 5:4 reveals that these crowns could not have been issued to believers unless Jesus Christ had already been seen by them at the gathering of His church to life "...when the Chief Shepherd appears.v.4 "And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away."

A SIDE POINT

One point that makes obvious sense, and would make no sense if  the opposite conclusion were true, which is this. If there is ONLY one resurrection at the end of the Tribulation and Jesus returns and destroys all rebellion with the sword of His mouth, then those raised will be spirit beings with new bodies, and those who are wicked will be destroyed. Matthew chapter 13 confirms this:

49 "So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,

50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."

My question is....who will go into the Kingdom Age being mortal to repopulate the earth? See the problem? There will be no one. A better explanation is that Jesus is not coming back to change all into spirit beings, as that has been done earlier. What He is coming back for is to set up His Kingdom. Those who survive the tribulation will go into the Kingdom Age being mortal but have accepted Jesus Christ as Savior during the tribulation, but escaped martyrdom and will repopulate the earth. Those who have died, not accepting the mark of the beast, will be raised to life and will comprise the fulfillment of the first resurrection and receive their new bodies, the same as with Jesus Christ and the saints raised with Him, the first fruits of the two witnesses and the redemption of the His body, the Church approximately 7 years prior.

TWO DIFFERENT TRUMPET CALLS

Another point that is made right along with the verses that began this sermon, is that the trumpets in 1st Thessalonians, is the same trumpet blown by the 7th angel in Revelation 11:15. There is a misconception that these are the same trumpets blown. The biggest reason that I can find is they announce two different events. The one that Paul writes  in 1st Thessalonians is followed by nothing but sheer joy. We have been redeemed from the earth. Each in his own order:

1st Thesslonians 16 "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words."

Now compare this with the trumpet that is blown by the 7th angel that is erroneously thought to be the last trump that Paul speaks of and the third woe: Revelation chapter 11,

"And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned."

In subsequent verses, we see the third woe being enacted upon a rebellious earth and it's inhabitants. Bowl judgment after bowl judgment is poured out of the fierceness of the wrath of Almighty God. How fast? We don't know, but when it comes it is NOT a trumpet to signal joy, but a signal of unspeakable horror, violent death, and suffering beyond any of our imaginations. They are two trumpets blown, but separated by some amount of time. One trumpet  for joy and "rapture" and the last one of death and destruction are their plain, distinct differences. Got that? Good, let's move on.

THE SECOND RESURRECTION

The nature of the second resurrection is brought forth in Revelation, which depicts the unrighteous dead being released from the power of death for the purpose of a final judgment,

"And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell [Hades, the grave] delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works...And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire" (Revelation 20.13,15 KJV bible).

This is called the Great White Throne Judgment and the books will be opened. (Daniel 7:10). What books will there be? We know that there is what the bible calls a "book of life". Someone asked me what the difference was in the "Lamb's book of Life, and the "book of life" mentioned in the bible at several places. The book of life, in my belief, is the written history of every human being that has ever been born and chronicles how their life was lived, either for God or in sin by following Satan's temptations and lies. The Lamb's book of Life are those names that have been re-written at the moment of salvation and accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Master of their life. Those whose names are not written in this book or the Lamb's book of Life will be cast out and thrown into a great inferno and will be in torment forever, called the Lake of Fire. What are the other books? I believe they are the books of your Bible, God's Holy Word. By God's Word, each man and woman will be judged who are raised in the 2nd resurrection.. Those who have been resurrected unto life in this chronological order of the 1st resurrection will have their name in the book of life. Judgment will be passed on the wicked as not being found in this Lamb's book of life at this final resurrection, as the righteous have been rewarded before this time for they have been covered by the blood sacrifice of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

WHICH RESSURECTION FOR YOU?

What each of us have to decide is, which resurrection will you be involved with? Obviously, the first resurrection is the one that any sane person would choose if they were convinced of the penalty imposed for not following the clear message of the Books of your Bible. Many will be deceived. Many will revel in their unrighteousness. Many will follow the god of this world, Satan, the devil to their own destruction. What about you? Will you choose life, or will you choose death? Eternal death awaits for the resurrected wicked raised at the 2nd resurrection, BUT life eternal awaits those who are part of the 1st resurrection. It is promised : 1st Corinthians,

51" Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?"

Whether we live or whether we die, we will meet the Lord in the air, at His coming for His Bride. Where will you be? Will you be in the first resurrection? How do you obtain life through the first resurrection? John 3:16-17,

"for God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosover believeth in Him, has ever lasting life. God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life."
