Iran, Russia, Syria, and Iraq Forming a Joint Military Task Force War Room - Geoffrey Grider - http://www.nowtheendbegins.com/blog/?p=36223
A senior Iranian military leader warned this weekend that "all U.S. military bases in the Middle East are within the range of" Iran's missiles and emphasized that the Islamic Republic will continue to break international bans on the construction of ballistic missiles.
"For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:" Psalm 83:5 (KJV)
EDITOR'S NOTE: Everyone has been so focused ISIS as the creator of the Islamic caliphate, when in reality it looks like that caliphate will be Iran, Russia, Syria and Iraq. Russia has effectively squeezed America out of the picture, forming alliances all across the Middle East. How blinded has America become? So blind that the Ayatollah can declare they have missiles pointed at America, as they do in this story, and Obama is still able to sell the Iranian Nuclear Deal to a dead, asleep American public. Prepare for impact in 3..2..1..
.
Much of this missile work, like the details of Iran's advanced arsenal, remains secret, according to Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force.
Hajizadeh dismissed the threat of military action by the United States, warning that all U.S. assets and allies are in range of Iran's current missile arsenal, according to comments made Sunday in Tehran and recorded by Iran's state-controlled Fars News Agency.
The threats of attack on the United States were issued as Iran unveiled new high-tech torpedoes and the formation of a joint war room along with Russia, Syria, and Iraq.
"Some of the threats by the U.S. are aimed at appeasing the Zionists, while others are for the purpose of domestic consumption (in the U.S.), but what is important is that they are aware of and acknowledge our capabilities and deterrence power," Hajizadeh was quoted as saying.
"We do not feel any need to increase the range of our missiles and (our perceived enemy) targets are fully within the range of our missiles," he added.
Iran will not slow down the research and construction of advanced missiles, the IRGC leader said, despite international bans on such action.
"We do not see any restriction for our missiles and the IRGC's preparedness and missile drills are conducted without a halt and according to our annual time-table, but only some of them are publicized through the media," Hajizadeh said.
The comments echo those of IRGC Navy Commander Ali Fadavi, who warned last month that "the U.S. knows the damages of any war and firing bullets in the Persian Gulf."
"The U.S. is obedient and passive in the Persian Gulf and we impose our sovereignty right in the Persian Gulf very powerfully," Fadavi said.
The Pentagon confirmed last month that Iranian warships confront the U.S. Navy on a "daily basis." Iran's renewed war rhetoric and anti-U.S. posturing comes amid reports that Iran and Russia have taken the lead in Syria, where both countries are working to bolster the embattled President Bashar al-Assad.
A senior Iranian official disclosed over the weekend that Iran, Russia, Syrian, and Iraq are working on forming a joint war room to coordinate operations in the region.
The "information exchange center" would be the first step in formalizing a joint operations center to coordinate military efforts in Syria and elsewhere, according to political adviser to Iraq Mohsen Hakim, head of the country's Islamic Supreme Council.
"The information center has been formed some days ago after six months of discussions," Hakim was quoted as telling Fars. Information obtained by this operations center would be disseminated to officials from each participating country, according to Hakim, including the Russian and Syrian armies.
"Hakim underlined that the information center can be a preliminary step to set up a joint operations room or Centcom," Fars reported.
Syrian officials have welcomed Iran and Russia's military assistance in campaign against terrorism. "Syria welcomes Iran and Russia's military partnership in fight against the ISIL in Syria and assumes the efforts made by these countries as legal, distant from the double-standards and in line with safeguarding our national security," Jamal Rabe'eh, a senior Syrian legislator, told FNA in September.
Meanwhile, Iran unveiled a new high-tech torpedo that it claims can hit targets both in and out of the water. The technology for the missile has been borrowed from the Russians, according to Iranian officials who spoke to Fars.
Will Russian Military Build Up In Middle East Lead To Gog/Magog War? - By Kade Hawkins -

Russia has carried out its first air strikes in Syria shortly after receiving an official request of help from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and approval from the Russian parliament authorizing Vladimir Putin to send military troops into Syria.
Similar to the slow mission creep in the Ukraine, Russia's rapid deployment to Syria for the first time in three decades is a far cry from the earlier excuse that Russia was only providing weapons and training to help the Syrian government army combat ISIS.
Russia has sent more than two dozen fighter aircraft, attack helicopters, surface-to-air missile defense systems and hundreds of troops to its only naval facility outside the former Soviet Union in the Syrian port of Tartus. However, new satellite images suggest two new military bases may be in the works to host Russian troops which suggest a much-expanded presence.
Russia has defended her actions as part of its national interests (Russia claims hundreds of its citizens are in Syria helping ISIS and could return home as a threat) and that it would only use its air force to strike ISIS. This is already being contradicted by the French Defense Minister who claims that the Russian strikes were in the Western part of the country where ISIS militants are not based and new reports suggest that the air strikes hit an area primarily held by anti-Assad rebels who are backed by the Central Intelligence Agency.
Russia has as much motivation to hit other rebel groups as it does ISIS in order to keep Assad in power and keep US supported groups from expanding their influence and reach. Syria's main Western-backed opposition leader, Khaled Khoja, president of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, has already called Russia's military involvement in the region an "invasion".
These actions will have important repercussions for US policy in Syria and may present the US with no other option but to include Assad in any final political settlement. US allies Jordan and Turkey who were considering their own coordinated actions with the US to set up a buffer and no-fly zones in Syria to protect their borders will no doubt take a step back due to any increased tension with Russia.
Perhaps most worrisome for the US is a conflict of unintended consequences. Despite talks of coordination between the US and Russia, the way in which Russia warned the US of the air strikes and the US response seems to portray the exact opposite. A three-star Russian general was sent to the US embassy in Baghdad one hour before the attacks to give notice and warn the Americans to stay out of Syrian airspace. However, the US declined to change any of their missions and proceeded as usual.
The potential for an accidental exchange of fire will grow as each side vies to assert its authority in the region.
Israel is also greatly concerned that Russian actions will endanger its ability to strike Hezbollah targets in Syria and Lebanon who frequently use the conflict to transfer arms from Iran. However, like the US, Israel's defense Minister has stressed Israel's right to freedom of action over Syrian airspace when it felt its national security interests were threatened, including a specific warning that Israel will not tolerate Iranian troops near its border.
The scenarios for this crisis to spiral out of control are numerous and some Bible prophecy experts believe could be setting the stage for two important prophecies found in the Bible.
In Ezekiel 38, the prophet Ezekiel warned of a future war known as the war of "Gog and Magog" in which the people of Magog and their leader Gog will lead a coalition of nations (including Persia/Iran) to attack Israel.
Many Bible teachers believe historical records point to Russia as the descendants of the people of Magog which would seem to confirm Ezekiel's warning that this invasion would be led from the people of the "far north." Russia is the farthest country directly north of Israel. Prophecy scholars watch with fascination as Russia returns to the Middle East after a thirty-year absence and the positioning of its troops ever closer to Israel.
The 2nd prophecy is found in Isaiah 17 in which the prophet Isaiah warns that in the end times Damascus (the capital of Syria) would become a ruinous heap, never to be inhabited again (which suggests chemical or even nuclear confrontation).
Both of these Biblical prophecies appear to have just hit the fast forward button.
The Moscow-Washington-Tehran Axis of Evil - By Cliff Kincaid - http://www.newswithviews.com/Kincaid/cliff941.htm
The conventional wisdom is that Vladimir Putin has blindsided Barack Obama in the Middle East, catching the U.S. off-guard. It's another Obama "failure," we're told. "Obama administration scrambles as Russia attempts to seize initiative in Syria," is how a Washington Post headline described it. A popular cartoon shows Putin kicking sand in the faces of Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry on a beach.
The conventional wisdom is driven by the notion that Obama has the best of intentions but that he's been outmaneuvered. What if his intention all along has been to remake the Middle East to the advantage of Moscow and its client state Iran? What if he knows exactly what he's doing? Too many commentators refuse to consider that Obama is deliberately working against U.S. interests and in favor of the enemies of the U.S. and Israel.
In his U.N. address, Obama said, "As President of the United States, I am mindful of the dangers that we face; they cross my desk every morning. I lead the strongest military that the world has ever known, and I will never hesitate to protect my country or our allies, unilaterally and by force where necessary."
This is laughable. We still have a strong military, but the inevitable conclusion from what's recently transpired is that he doesn't want to protect the interests of the U.S. or its allies in the Middle East. This is not a "failure," but a deliberate policy.
The trouble with conventional wisdom is the assumption that Obama sees things the way most Americans do. In order to understand Obama's Middle East policy, it is necessary to consult alternative sources of news and information and analysis. That includes communist news sources.
A fascinating analysis appears in the newspaper of the Socialist Workers Party, The Militant, one of the oldest and most influential publications among the left. You may remember the old photos which surfaced of Lee Harvey Oswald selling copies of The Militant before he killed the American president.
The headline over The Militant story by Maggie Trowe caught my eye: "'Reset' with US allows Moscow to send arms, troops to Syria." It was not about Hillary Clinton's reset with Moscow years ago, but a more recent one.
Here's how her story began: "Moscow's rapid military buildup in Syria is a result of the 'reset' in relations forged with the Russian and Iranian governments by the Barack Obama administration. The deal-reshaping alliances and conditions from Syria, Iran and the rest of the Middle East to Ukraine and surrounding region-is the cornerstone of U.S. imperialism's efforts to establish a new order in the Mideast, but from a much weaker position than when the now-disintegrating order was imposed after World Wars I and II."
Of course, the idea that "U.S. imperialism" is served by giving the advantage to Russia and Iran is ludicrous. Nevertheless, it does appear that a "reset" of the kind described in this article has in fact taken place. The author writes about Washington's "strategic shift to Iran and Russia" and the "downgrading" of relations with Israel and Saudi Arabia. She notes that Moscow "seeks more influence and control of the country [Syria] and its Mediterranean ports and a stronger political hand in Mideast politics." Iran "has sent Revolutionary Guard Quds forces to help prop up Assad, and collaborates with Moscow on operations in Syria," she notes.
It is sometimes necessary to reject the conventional wisdom and instead analyze developments from the point of view of the Marxists, who understand Obama's way of thinking. They pretend that Obama is a pawn of the "imperialists" but their analysis also makes sense from a traditional pro-American perspective. Those who accept the evidence that Obama has a Marxist perspective on the world have to consider that his policy is designed to help Moscow and Tehran achieve hegemony in the region.
At the same time, the paper reported, "Since Secretary of State John Kerry's congenial visit with Putin in May, it has become clear that Washington would accept Moscow's influence over its 'near abroad' in Ukraine and the Baltics, in exchange for help to nail down the nuclear deal with Tehran." Hence, Obama has put his stamp of approval on Russian aggression in Europe and the Middle East. This analysis, though coming from a Marxist newspaper, fits the facts on the ground. It means that more Russian aggression can be expected in Europe.
The wildcard is Israel and it looks like the Israeli government is being increasingly isolated, not only by Obama but by Putin. The story notes that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Putin in Moscow on September 21, saying his concern was to "prevent misunderstandings" between Israeli and Russian troops, since Israel has carried out airstrikes in Syrian territory targeting weapons being transported to the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon.
Some reports indicated that Israel had set up a joint mechanism with the Russian military to coordinate their operations in Syria.
However, the Russian leader reportedly told Obama during their U.N. meeting that he opposes Israeli attacks in Syria. The Israeli newspaper Haaretz ran a story that Russia intends to "Clip Israel's Wings Over [the] Syrian Skies." The paper added that Putin's remarks to Obama showed that despite Netanyahu's meeting with Putin in Moscow, "Russia intends to create new facts on the ground in Syria that will include restricting Israel's freedom of movement in Syrian skies."
It hardly seems to be the case that Obama has been outsmarted in the Middle East, or that Putin and Obama don't like each other. Instead, it appears that Obama is working hand-in-glove with Putin to isolate Israel and that Obama is perfectly content to let the former KGB colonel take the lead.
Israel has always been seen by most U.N. members as the real problem in the region. Obama is the first U.S. President to see Israel in that same manner and to act accordingly. This is why Putin has not caught Obama off-guard in the least. They clearly see eye-to-eye on Israel and Iran.
Don't forget that Obama actually telephoned Putin to thank him for his part in the nuclear deal with Iran. The White House issued a statement saying, "The President thanked President Putin for Russia's important role in achieving this milestone, the culmination of nearly 20 months of intense negotiations."
Building off the Iran nuclear deal, it looks like the plan is for Russia and the United States to force Israel to embrace a U.N. plan for a nuclear-free Middle East. That would mean Israel giving up control of its defensive nuclear weapons to the world body. Iran will be able to claim it has already made a deal to prohibit its own nuclear weapons development.
Such a scheme was outlined back in 2005 in an article by Mohamed Elbaradei, the director-general at the time of the U.N.'s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). That's the same body that is now supposed to guarantee Iranian compliance with the terms of the nuclear deal signed by Russia and the U.S.
Elbaradei argued there would have to be "a dialogue on regional security as part of the peace process," to be followed by an agreement "to make the Middle East a nuclear-weapons-free zone."
The "dialogue" appears to be taking place now, mostly under the authority and auspices of the Russian government, with President Obama playing a secondary role.
The obvious danger is that Israel would be forced to comply with the plan for a "nuclear-weapons-free-zone," while Iran would cheat and develop nuclear weapons anyway.
Netanyahu told the U.N. that "Israel deeply appreciates President Obama's willingness to bolster our security, help Israel maintain its qualitative military edge and help Israel confront the enormous challenges we face."
This must be his hope. But he must know that Israel's security is slipping and that the survival of his country is in grave danger in the face of this Moscow-Washington-Tehran axis.
Before Putin further consolidates his military position in the Middle East and Iran makes more progress in nuclear weapons development, Netanyahu will have to launch a preemptive strike on the Islamic state. "Israel will not allow Iran to break in, to sneak in or to walk in to the nuclear weapons club," the Israeli Prime Minister said.
In launching such a strike before the end of Obama's second presidential term, Israel would bring down the wrath of the world, led by Russia and the U.S., on the Jewish state.
Bully on the Block - By Hal Lindsey - http://www.hallindsey.com/ww-10-2-2015/
Early Wednesday morning, the United States Embassy in Syria received a surprise visitor - a Russian three-star general carrying a message. Pentagon spokesman John Kirby explained. "A Russian official in Baghdad this morning informed U.S. Embassy personnel that Russian military aircraft would begin flying anti-ISIL missions today over Syria. He further requested that U.S. aircraft avoid Syrian airspace during these missions."
The U.S. refused to comply and went on with air missions already planned. The Russians went on with their mission, too. Now, two superpowers are flying sorties over the same country at the same time. The escalating danger is obvious.
Russia claims to be in Syria to help defeat ISIS, but their real purpose is to prop up Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, and further ingratiate themselves with Assad's powerful ally in the region - Iran. Wednesday's air strikes prove it. They attacked an area north of the city of Homs in Western Syria. ISIS is generally located in the northern and eastern part of Syria.
CNN's Elise Labott reports that "a senior U.S. administration official" told her Wednesday's air strike "has no strategic purpose" in regard to ISIS.
However, it does have strategic purpose in terms of helping Assad. The Los Angeles Times reports, "While Russia announced that the raids targeted Islamic State, the area reportedly hit is a stronghold of other rebel groups, including some affiliated with the U.S.-backed Free Syrian Army." In other words, the raids have nothing to do with ISIS, but everything to do with battling the Free Syrian Army and others threatening Assad.
According to CNN, the senior administration official speaking to them "said the U.S. had no intention of preventing the strikes."
President Obama met face-to-face with Putin the day before the attacks. Did he at least warn Putin not to hit "the U.S.-backed Free Syrian Army"? If so, Putin must have absolutely no concerns about Obama following through.
When Fox News broke the story that Russia was asking the U.S. to keep its planes out of Syria during their operation, it added this telling line. "The Russian demand also mirrors one made by Turkey this past July, when Ankara asked U.S. planes to fly only in airspace south of Mosul, Iraq. In that case, 24 Turkish jets bombed Kurdish positions, catching the U.S. off guard."
Turkey's assault on the Kurds may have caught the U.S. off guard (though it shouldn't have), but Russia's action in Syria surely did not. It has been obvious since the beginning of their arms buildup in Syria that the Russians were gearing up for something more than a campaign against ISIS.
NATO's top General, Philip Breedlove, told the press what can be seen at Russian installations in Syria. "We see some very sophisticated air defenses going into those airfields. We see some very sophisticated air-to-air aircraft [fighters] going into these airfields. I have not seen ISIL flying any airplanes that require SA-15s or SA-22s [Russian missiles]. I have not seen ISIL flying any airplanes that require sophisticated air-to-air capabilities. I'm looking at the capabilities and the capacities that are being created and I determine from that what might be their intent. These very sophisticated air defense capabilities are not about ISIL. They're about something else."
On CNN, Christiane Amanpour played a clip of the general making those remarks, then said, "That could not be clearer. What Russia is doing is not going after ISIS. Russia is going in to prop up Assad."
While her conclusion is accurate, she's missing something crucial. The general said, "These very sophisticated air defense capabilities are not about ISIL. They're about something else."
What else could those air defense capabilities be for? They have guns aimed at the sky even though ISIS has no presence in the sky. They have fighter aircraft ready, not to bomb ISIS, but to attack other aircraft. Yet ISIS has no air force.
There is a sixty nation coalition supposedly fighting ISIS under the leadership of the United States. But the Russians did not warn other members of the coalition about the attacks. For instance, France recently started flying sorties in Syria, but got no warning.
Russia specifically warned two nations - the United States and Israel. That's who they're thinking about. Those are the nations that rule the skies in that region. With their action Wednesday, Russia announced to those two powers that there's a new kid on the block... and he's a bit of a bully.
Meanwhile, ties between key members of the Ezekiel 38 coalition keep growing stronger, and commitments deeper.
