Signs were gathering in Washington and the Middle East Tuesday, June 26 that the Trump administration was preparing
a substantial military operation against the Syrian army and Bashar Assad's allies, such as the foreign pro-Iranian Shiite militias and Hezbollah. Some US military sources suggested that an American preemptive strike was in store in the coming hours to prevent

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said Monday night that the US "has identified potential preparations for another chemical weapons attack by the
Assad regime that would likely result in the mass murder of civilians, including innocent children." He said the activities were similar to preparations taken before an April 2017 attack that killed dozens of men, women and children, and warned that if "Mr.
Assad conducts another mass murder attack using chemical weapons, he and his military will pay a heavy price."
On April 4, the Syrians launched a chemical weapons attack, which killed 87 people, including 30 children, following which the Trump administration fired
scores of Tomahawk missiles against a Syrian air base.
The US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley then further stoked the tensions by declaring on Twitter that any chemical weapons attack by Bashar-Assad's
Syrian government "will be blamed on Assad but also on Russia and Iran who support him killing his own people."
Haley's tweet ended with the cliffhanger: "Stay tuned for more tomorrow."

"From now on, in areas where Russian aviation performs combat missions in the skies of Syria, any airborne objects found west of the Euphrates River,

That warning was intended to mark a red line against US flights crossing through central and western Syria. Posted at Latakia, on Syrian's Mediterranean coast

First I must preface this week's commentary. Those who have read my articles and books over many years-I prayerfully hope-know that I am not one who speculates
wildly on what God's Word has to say on any matter. The Lord knows that my overwhelming desire is to say no more and no less than what He wants me to say in any given instance.
Likewise, discernment is among the most important things that must be possessed by as well as employed by any writer who endeavors to put forth what the
Holy Spirit urges him or her to write. More specifically, it is imperative that truth from the mind of God be at the center of each and every biblical examination and analysis exploring the issues and events of our times. My prayer is that I never violate
this rubric.
With that said, I want to consider a most unusual matter involving the all but totally unexpected rise to presidential power of Donald J. Trump. I say
"all but totally unexpected" because there were hundreds of thousands of us-if not millions-who knew the 2016 presidential election could well go in the direction opposite of what the politicos and pundits were saying. We knew that 2 Chronicles 7:14 was still
in effect. The Lord could, if it was within His holy will, turn America in a different direction in answer to His people's prayers.
Those prayers were answered in a spectacular way. In that regard, now is time to continue praying that the Lord will restrain the evil that is attempting
at every level of culture, society, and government to undo that election.
The effort of the combined, globalist cabal to bring down the Trump presidency should be obvious even to the casual observer, it seems to me.
It is equally obvious that Mr. Trump is not president of the United States because he is a godly man. But that he is God's man for this critical hour
cannot, in my estimation, be denied. He is in that position, the most powerful in the world, because the God of Heaven put him there. He is in office for some divine purpose. I believe we are about to be witness to that purpose over the coming weeks, months,
and perhaps years.
Now to get to the factor that caused me to ask that you remember my fidelity to handling God's Word with great care over my years of writing commentaries
and books. This isn't meant to simply convince you of how faithful Terry James is. It is to remind you that I'm not one with a history of kooky dissection of our times by using God's Word to create sensationalism in any form-i.e., the things I'm about to consider
here will take the reader's sense of credulity perhaps to its limits. Please bear with me, nonetheless.
It was July of 2016. Someone with whom I'm an occasional email correspondent sent me a link to a website. It was a link to a cybercast program of True
News.
I rarely ever listen to programs, unless they are recommended by trusted friends and associates. This is partly because my time to do so is limited, and,
admittedly, I have listened to some that are speculative beyond the pale.
I listened to this particular program. It was, at that time in July, almost four months until the presidential election of November 8, 2016. The program
host and cohost were interviewing a retired fireman named Mark Taylor. Mr. Taylor went through a most fascinating story of a "vision" he said the Lord had given him. He said he could think of no other word to call it than a "vision."
Taylor laid out his "vision" that gave details of how Donald Trump would become president. The details included the fact that the very foundations of
hell would come against him. This force include the mainstream news media, entertainment media, and the entire globalist cabal, as I recall.
I filed that cybercast program, thinking I would be checking back to see how wrong this "visionary" had been. I subconsciously hoped he was right, but
could not, of course, bring myself to believe in such sensationalism.
Here is a brief excerpt of what I wrote to my emailer-friend upon receiving the link to Mr. Taylor's "vision":

Sorry if that disappoints you, and if it seems hypocritical based upon my own reports of the visit to the periphery of Heaven when my heart stopped those
three times on good Friday of 2011.
I'm for Trump over Hillary. There's no way this nation can survive such a government as she would bring upon us, with Obama having already set in motion
our spiral downward. So, I certainly want him to win the election. (Although, I'm, sadly, very skeptical that the nation will turn around regardless of who becomes president.)

Remember the vitriol over President Donald Trump "banning" Muslims from entry into the US? The Supreme Court has ruled that the President is well within
the law to scrutinize and ban entry of persons with no legitimate connection (by family, academic, or job related) because "the balance tips in favor of the Government's compelling need to provide for the Nation's security. The Court appeared to be street
smart as well spelling out that "a nonprofit group devoted to immigration issues may not contact foreign nationals from the designated countries, add them to client lists, and then secure their entry by claiming injury from the exclusion." The Court will reconsider
the ban in October.
Justice Clarence Thomas wrote the opinion for the unanimous decision. He said, "Today's compromise will burden executive officials with the task of deciding-on
peril of contempt- whether individuals from the six affected nations who wish to enter the United States have a sufficient connection to a person or entity in this country...The compromise also will invite a flood of litigation until this case is finally resolved
on the merits, as parties and courts struggle to determine what exactly constitutes a "bona fide relationship," who precisely has a "credible claim" to that relationship, and whether the claimed relationship was formed "simply to avoid �2(c)" of Executive
Order No. 13780, ante, at 11, 12."
Thomas also cautioned that the lawsuits emanating from the SCOTUS decision will go back to the courts whose decisions were overturned, "And litigation
of the factual and legal issues that are likely to arise will presumably be directed to the two District Courts whose initial orders in these cases this Court has now- unanimously-found sufficiently questionable to be stayed as to the vast majority of the
people potentially affected." In other words, the leftists judges on the Fourth and Ninth Circuit Courts will further muddy the legal waters by entertaining the litigation that attempts to define a "bona fide relationship" that would allow entry to the country
from Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Somalia, Libya, Syria, and Yemen.
The rising tide of immigration and refugees coming from terrorist sponsoring nations has been cut in half since President Trump took office. The interest
of national security overrides the lunacy of the left whose insistence that people who are not citizens of the US have the right to come here even if they threaten our personal safety, and the reasonable vetting of immigrants and refugees is a violation of
their rights. As the Lord said in Leviticus 24:22, "You shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country." If the stranger comes illegally or intends to not abide by our laws, that stranger should not be allowed to come
