As always, I will begin with my predictions from last January (2018) to see what I got right, what I got wrong, and what has yet to happen. I do not have a crystal ball, nor do I claim any extraordinary insight into world events. I only watch trends and try to put the pieces together in a logical, sequential order.

 

2018 Predictions

 

HITS:

 

• John McCain to retire this year due to medical reasons
• Rex Tillerson is replaced with Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State.
• John Bolton is brought back to be the Ambassador to the United Nations (personal wish) National Security Advisor
• Mueller is trying to keep this collusion investigation going through to 2018 where the Democrats hope to take back either the house or the senate. He then will hand over what he has to them (at least this is the plan)
• The Swamp begins to drain
• Pres. Trump mulls over serious Afghanistan withdrawal plan
• Russian support to Iran and North Korea continues
• Israel-Cyprus-Greece energy triangle-making strides, but staying under the radar

 

MISSES:

 

• Nancy Pelosi retires from politics (although if she doesn't get speaker of the house, this still may happen)
• GEN (RET) David Petraeus joins ranks with the administration
• Blue Sky Option #4 (although, I still hold a high degree of skepticism regarding North Korea's true intentions here).
• Merkle loses her reelection (although she has announced her impending withdrawal from politics)
• Natural disasters- tons of flooding, lots of earthquakes, but the main focus this past year was again, on hurricanes and wildfires.
• Any Black Swan-type event

 

TBD:

 

• US divorcing the UN- we have already quit the defunct and corrupt UN Human Rights Council, the Compact on Human Migration, and Paris Climate Agreement. Expect further distancing from the United Nations the longer Pres. Trump stays in office
• Saudi Arab Spring-although you can see the undercurrents stirring, nothing has materialized as of yet
• The whole Russia Collusion scandal falls apart and takes a dramatic swing to the left, on to Clinton, her cronies, and the Uranium One, and Benghazi/FBI/email scandals

 

2019 Predictions

 

US Affairs

 

• 2020 Democratic Presidential Candidates begin their run
• President Trump gets another Supreme Court pick
• Robert Mueller officially ends his Russian Collusion investigation with zero credible evidence against President Trump over collusion or obstruction
• Media continue to push obstruction/collusion narrative despite actual evidence
• Pres. Trump and Congress continue to clash over border wall, and the government shuts down. Only military and key functions remain open
• A Democratically controlled congress unsuccessfully attempts to impeach Trump
• Pres. Trump declassifies the entire investigation in retaliation (payback against the Democrats)
• Pres. Trump declassifies all the information on extraterrestrial activity (payback against deep state)
• Pres. Trump instructs SECDEF to begin pulling out of Afghanistan (payback against establishment hawks). This is a reiteration of last year's prediction.
• The congressional impeachment effort fails to clear the Republican-controlled Senate, and a new Republican investigation is launched into the 2014-2016 Democratic Party collusion in retaliation
• If Trump's Middle East peace plan is revealed, expect a major economic downturn
• If Trump's Middle East peace plan is not revealed, expect continued economic growth, or at the least, economic status quo

 

Asia Affairs

 

• South China Seas military flare up between US and China
• Chinese military aggression against Taiwan continues to sour relations between US and China
• North / South Korea continue normalization between the two countries. This is going to end badly for South Korea

 

European Affairs

 

• Pres. Trump opens permanent military base in Poland in reaction to increased Russian aggression in Ukraine/Baltic states and Caribbean base
• Germany's Angela Merkel steps down from office
• France's "yellow vest" protests spread to Germany and the Netherlands, clashing over immigration and high taxes
• The Union of the Mediterranean (UfM) gains traction due to the rising success of the Israel/Greece/Cyrus energy triumvirate.
• The EU Army (Defence Force) continues to materialize as US/EU relations continue to strain
• BREXIT continues to stall out even after Boris is brought in as PM
• France's Macron introduces his own (EU approved) Israel-Palestinian Peace Plan
• The Paris Climate Accord falls apart as France essentially abandons it
• EU Defence Force (EU Army) begins to materialize. They begin pillaging NATO for officers and soldiers.
• EU seeks damage control and continental unity through re-imagining of revived Roman Empire

 

Russian Affairs

 

• Russia/Turkey/Iran continues to be isolated and marginalized economically and politically, further pushing them toward a Ezekiel 38 coalition
• Russia continues military buildup in Libya, Syria, and other Mediterranean locations (noted this in October 2018 before US pull out of Syria)
• With the fracturing and transitioning of NATO, Russia begins efforts to reclaim the Baltic states of Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania

 

African Affairs

 

• Ebola (and other hemorrhagic-type fevers) continue to plague central Africa
• Geopolitical tensions flare up between Egypt and Ethiopia over their Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam project
• South Africa continues to drive white Africans from the country through the governments illegal land grabs and escalating violence
• US continues proxy war (against Russia/China/Iran/Turkey) in eastern Africa
• US military footprint in Africa increases

 

Israel

 

• Israel conducts major, strategic strikes in Iran/Syria (see Isaiah 17)
• Bibi Netanyahu remains Prime Minister...barely
• Errant missile strike from Hamas hits the Temple Mount, destroying the Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa Mosque
• Major push to rebuild the Third Temple ensues while Trump and Netanyahu remain in office

 

Supernatural Affairs

 

• Major governmental UFO declassification program begins after irrefutable evidence emerges, this coincides with Pres. Trump's desire to hit back at the deep state
• Paganism continues its resurgence in Europe and the United States as more political leaders identify as Pagan
• People began to self-identify as 'non-human'

 

Technology

 

• AI machines begin to replace more and more human worker
• Breakthrough technology emerges in aerospace flight
• Cryptocurrency continues to grow in size and significance
• AI driven automation effects on job markets (taking human jobs) becomes major political issue for 2020

 

Summary: The General Trends

 

2019 will be a watershed year for President Trump as the gloves finally come off. He recognizes that neither the Deep State, nor the media, will quit their subversive efforts regardless of what he does. The Trump Administration will continue to operate at a breakneck speed, largely sending out mixed signals to friend and foe alike. This is not done due to infighting or confusion, but rather, to keep everyone off their game. In terms of military affairs, the US is going to make some dramatic shifts that realign our forces in a strategic manner befitting the changing geopolitical and technological landscape (we are still largely operating under a 1990s/2000s construct).

 

While Trump's recent decision to pull out of Syria and Afghanistan are breaking with the status-quo many military establishment-types and Republicans are comfortable with, these are both unwinnable situations. I anticipate major prophetic tremors throughout the Middle East as the US pulls out of Syria, and realigns efforts elsewhere. This could very well be the year Damascus is destroyed. The Israelis have largely not had to worry about too much Russian/Turkish/Iranian build up in Syria so long as US forces were still on the ground. This is no longer the case.

 

I would expect the Israelis to be provoked at some point in the summer in which they will target Damascus (Isaiah 17) with grim finality. This of course, sets the stage for Ezekiel 38. The Iranians and Turks will seek revenge for this attack, while the Russians are eyeing the natural gas fields off the coast and in the Golan Heights. So long as the US remains the world's superpower (pre-Rapture), they will build their forces but not attack. I expect Ezekiel 38-39 to come in the gap of time between the Rapture and the official start of the 70th Week of Daniel.

 

I am loathe to try to predict major calamities happening at specific locations, as I have routinely gotten these wrong. However, I will say that given the rise in the major/minor earthquake activity along the ring of fire in places like Alaska, Malaysia, and Japan, I expect that the US West Coast is long overdue for major seismic activity. If the California wildfires of 2018 didn't do their jobs in moving many good and decent people from California, this next round of seismic activity (judgment) could be the start of the collapse of California. Another place to keep an eye on is the New Madrid Fault Line that has also recently become active. See here for a more complete list of places to keep an eye on.

 

Again, 2019 will be an increasingly a High-Rapture-Watch year as prophetic events continue to increase with frequency and intensity. Do not be discouraged because the world continues to embrace the spirit of Antichrist. The Bible said it would be this way; primarily, that things would increasingly deteriorate during the final generation. Live with abandon concerning Christ. This world and the things therein, are passing away. Live every day as if it could be your last. Keep your heart, mind, and soul fixed on Christ, and keep looking up.

Part I

 

We use the word "convergence" to express the urgency of the prophetic hour. That is, those who think and write about Bible prophecy from the Pre-Trib perspective use the term in trying to forewarn that Christ's call to His Church looks to be very near.

 

The year 2018 drew into focus the convergence of issues and events that we believe have immediate prophetic significance. I hope to file through some of these things, with a bit of conjecture as to where it is all leading, prophetically speaking.

 

I, of course, cannot foretell the future precisely in terms of exact timing. Neither can anyone who draws breath upon this planet that is prophetically destined for judgment. However, following God's Word on things to come, combined with careful analysis of the above-mentioned issues and events, and with prayer and Holy Spirit guidance, one can discern the direction the world is taking toward its date with supreme justice. And with the level of wickedness we witnessed developing throughout 2018 and seeming to increase hourly, the need for the date with justice dispensed by the True Supreme Court is becoming ever more understandable.

 

We will begin looking at what the year 2019 might portend by considering the number 2 signal of how near we are to Christ calling His Church to Himself. That sign is Israel.

 

Yes. I say the number 2 signal is Israel.

 

This is a departure from what we Pre-Tribbers have until the year just past considered the number 1 signal of where we are on God's prophetic timeline. The year 2018 has, I believe, brought most of us to the point that Israel might have to take second place in our eschatological outlook. Explanation is forthcoming in a future commentary of the series...

 

Things happening in and around Israel are shaping in a profound way. The latest development is President Donald J. Trump's seemingly flabbergasting decision to remove US military forces and some diplomatic influences from Syria and possibly from Afghanistan. Many believe this will leave the Jewish state vulnerable to hostile forces gathering to its north.

 

The American president said of such criticisms: "Israel is capable of taking care of itself."

 

The rather strange thing about the ostensibly flippant remark is that, as far as I can determine, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has had little to say. It is if this has long been understood to be a course of action that is acceptable to the Israeli government. There is little doubt among those who truly understand the military power structure status in that region that Israel can indeed "take care of itself," if it comes down to that necessity.

 

Any assault that might possibly be lethal to Israel's continued existence would bring nuclear holocaust and utter devastation to all involved. Israel's enemies, whether speaking of the many terrorist entities who hate the Jews, Syria, Iran, or even Russia-none harbors any realistic desire to join such an attack while Israel possesses the ability to destroy them in return. There will be no such attack against Israel-as long as their nuclear capability is in place.

 

With that as an absolute, so far as I'm convinced the present military stand-off exists, I believe strongly that we have definitely seen a shift that will lead to the Ezekiel 38-39 scenario. America's withdrawal from the region is right in line with how the Gog-Magog prophecy should be shaping at this late, prophetic hour.

 

Israel will grow increasingly to be the number 1 troublemaker in geopolitical thinking. Zechariah chapter 12 is materializing an hour at a time through our headline news.

 

The volatility-the danger of all-out nuclear conflict involving the Jewish state-and America's withdrawal are setting the stage for the great peace broker-Antichrist- to "disarm" the situation...disarm Israel, that is. I believe he will do this through satanic subterfuge, setting the stage for the now-gathering coalition-the Gog-Magog forces. These are certain to strike at Israel, once Israel has agreed to that Isaiah 28:15-18 covenant of false peace made with death and hell.

 

I believe 2019 will see Israel make some startling breakthroughs in several areas of significance involving geophysical resource discoveries and technology. These, I conjecture, will add to the "spoil" the prophesied leader called "Gog" will one day, perhaps very soon, consider in having his "evil thought."

 

Before that "evil thought" can come into that demonically possessed leader's mind, something eternally profound must take place: Jesus Christ's call (see Revelation 4:1) to all born-again believers (see Romans 10: 9-10) will be heard by those who belong to God's family. You don't want to miss that call!

A New Year's Day Politico headline encapsulated the dread filling the political world: "Yes, 2019 Is the Year You Were Worrying About."

 

Markets are rattled by a looming trade war with China, a Fed that seems determined to relegate prosperity to America's rear-view mirror, and a level of instability in Washington rivaled in American history only by the run-up to the Civil War.... Any of these things could translate into a full-blown recession.... Meanwhile, the rest of the world remains dependent on the teetering American economy for their prosperity.

 

The North Korea denuclearization deal seems to be falling apart before it even begins.... China is building weapons designed to destroy US aircraft carriers.... The overall buildup of the Chinese military is one of the largest ever undertaken. It includes a heavy emphasis on space weapons and the destruction of the digital infrastructure that America and the West depend on for their very survival.... Russia remains a nuclear superpower, and its President, Vladimir Putin, seems determined to build a new generation of exotic superweapons.

 

In Washington, a power base entrenched for generations is intent on bringing down this President. They may or may not have legitimate legal arguments against him. We will see as reports finally surface in 2019. But instability in Washington - with fault on both sides - was the hallmark of 2018 and looks to grow even worse in the new year.

 

Bible prophecy is being fulfilled in dramatic, even spectacular ways. That's good news because it means that the return of Jesus is getting closer. But the Bible makes it clear that the buildup to Christ's return will be anything but pleasant. At some point, those of us who are in Christ will be raptured out of here. But between now and the rapture, difficulties will increase. America's power and influence may be destroyed even sooner than we had imagined.

 

What about you? What about your family, neighbors, and friends? What about your church and community? What happens now? What happens to you and those you love?

 

Here's the thing to remember. Psalm 23 still applies. "The Lord is my shepherd." He's still my shepherd, even in the end times. "I shall not want." He still provides for my needs even in economic hard times. "He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake."

 

It's all still true. And if things become extremely bad, remember verses 4-6. "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life."

 

I don't know what will happen in 2019. But I know goodness and mercy will follow me. And if you're in Christ, they will follow you, too. I believe we will continue to see a fulfillment of the general trends laid out in scripture. Yet, even with that, Jesus said there would be an ebb and flow like with the labor pains of childbirth. That means we can't make precise, year-by-year predictions.

 

But if you are in Christ, I know a great deal about your future. The big one is this. You're headed for heaven! The 23rd Psalm ends with an eternal beginning. "And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
