Hal Lindsey : 6.13.20

June 12th, 2020

This week on Hal Lindsey Presents, our journey through Revelation takes us to the 18th chapter. And what a riveting story it tells!

The last seven years before the return of Jesus can be seen in great detail through much of Revelation. In chapter 17, we saw the ascendance of a religious system that had its origins on the Plains of Shinar (modern day Iraq) with the building of the Tower of Babel. When God scattered the people from that area, they took that awful religion with them. It carried over to the great Gentile nations prophesied by Daniel, starting with Babylon and carrying through to Rome.

When the Roman Empire is revived in the last days, the old religion will gain ascendancy over the world again - though not for long. This should not surprise those of us alive today. In fact, even in just the last few days, we have seen the old religion stirring across the world.

In chapter 18, we see how the religious system ties to the economic system of the last days.

In Revelation 18:7-8, Babylon "says in her heart, 'I sit as a queen and I am not a widow, and will never see mourning.' For this reason in one day her plagues will come, pestilence and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; for the Lord God who judges her is strong."

Now look at Isaiah 47. According to verse 1, God is speaking here to the "daughter of Babylon." In verse 6, He says, "I was angry with My people, I profaned My heritage, And gave them into your hand. You did not show mercy to them, On the aged you made your yoke very heavy. Yet you said, 'I shall be a queen forever.'

On this week's program we will look at several ways these scriptures and others tie together. I will also give you some Old Testament scriptures that describe Armageddon and the events leading to it.

It's fascinating to see how 21st century world leaders seem bent on getting the world aligned just right for these terrible events.
