AMERICA IN CRISIS: 8.26.23 - Disasters Hitting The United States

We Have Reached The Stage Where There Is Literally No Pause Between Major Disasters Hitting The United States- by Michael Snyder - http://endoftheamericandream.com/we-have-reached-the-stage-where-there-is-literally-no-pause-between-major-disasters-hitting-the-united-states/ It is just one thing after another. When times were normal in this country, there would be a major disaster every once in a while, but now we have reached a stage where thereis literally no pause between them. Authorities are still trying to assess the damage from the historic wildfires that we just witnessed in Hawaii. We are being told that they were the deadliest wildfires in the entire history of our country, and now suddenlymore wildfires are burning tens of thousands of acres in western portions of the state of Washington. At the same time, the state of California is bracing for an extremely rare disaster. According to AccuWeather, the impact that Hilary is going to have onthe state “has the potential to be an extraordinary event”… AccuWeather meteorologists say that a life-threatening flooding disaster is unfolding in some of the desert areas and mountains in Southern California to southern Nevada, where more than a year’s worth of rain could fall. “The impact from Hilary has the potential to be an extraordinary event, one that is rare and unprecedented,” AccuWeather Director of Forecasting Operations Dan DePodwin said. This is not something that happens every day. In fact, if Hilary is still considered to be a tropical storm when it hits California, it will be the first time this century that something like this has happened… If Hilary is still categorized as a tropical storm over California, that would be the first time that happened in almost 26 years, since the former Hurricane Nora trackednear the Colorado River in California as a tropical storm in Sept. 1997. Norman and Kathleen, in 1978 and 1976, respectively, brought impacts to Southern California, but neither officially made landfall as a tropical storm. There were only two times landfalls happened prior to 1950, including a Sept. 1939 tropical storm in the L.A. Basin and an Oct. 2, 1858 hurricane, which tracked from SanDiego to Long Beach. But no matter how it is categorized, everyone agrees that that there is going to be an extremely unusual amount of rain. In fact, meteorologists are warning that we are likely to see “dangerous to catastrophic” flooding… Historic Hilary − downgraded from a hurricane to a tropical storm but still carrying the potential for “dangerous to catastrophic” flooding − made landfall in the Mexicanpeninsula of Baja California on Sunday while churning north toward the U.S. Hilary was 115 miles south-southeast of San Diego when the National Hurricane Center released its latest update at 2 p.m. Pacific Time, warning of “catastrophic and life-threateningflooding likely over Baja California and portions of the Southwestern U.S. through Monday.” The flooding has already begun in some areas of California as I write this article. Authorities are warning that extremely heavy rainfall will trigger landslides and mudslides, and this is especially true in areas that have recently experienced wildfires. High winds will be an issue as well. San Diego County has already seen gusts of up to 84 mph, and Yuma, Arizona has already seen gusts of up to 62 mph. California Governor Gavin Newsom has officially declared a state of emergency, and Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo has done the same. This crisis is going to play out over several days, and it is going to hit a population that is largely unprepared for such a storm. Once residents of southern California began to realize what was about to hit them, thousands upon thousands of people descended upon local grocery stores to stock up on neededsupplies… But panic buying has set in and some supermarket shelves in San Diego and Los Angeles were stripped bare of essentials such as water and tinned food. Videos of people panic buying at grocery stores started emerge from California, with one tweet making jest of the ‘essentials’ being bought by people in Los Angeles. ‘A sign you’re in LA and not the southeast US during hurricane / tropical storm preparation: WHITE BREAD is left at Trader Joe’s!!! Focaccia – all gone!!! But even duringstorm prep, Angelenos ain’t bringing home the white bread!’ the post read with a picture of empty shelves and around seven loaves of white bread. Of course those that had prepared ahead of time didn’t need to battle the crowds. Something else just happened that is very important for me to mention. On Sunday afternoon, a magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck near Ojai, California… As Southern California braced for a highly unusual summer storm Sunday afternoon, residents were struck by a much more familiar phenomenon: a magnitude 5.1 earthquake, accordingto the US Geological Survey. The epicenter of the quake was in Ojai, between Santa Barbara and Ventura, and it occurred along the Sisar fault, USGS data showed. Studies have shown that large amounts of water can stir up fault lines. Personally, I believe that we have now reached a point where the people of California should be extremely concerned about the possibility of the arrival of “the Big One”, and this is something that I discussed on my Substack a few days ago. Speaking of major disasters, authorities are still recovering dead bodies that were killed during the recent wildfires in Hawaii. The official death toll currently stands at 111, but local residents are saying that the real death toll is at least four times higher… Maui authorities are dramatically underplaying the number of people known to have died in the inferno that ripped through Lahaina last week – with locals telling DailyMail.comthat the actual death toll is at least 480 and that morgues had run out of body bags. The figure is quadruple that of the official number of 111 – and some of the relatives of the victims have been left to uncover the remains of their loved ones themselvesdue to the glacial progress of the search and recovery operation. I don’t think that any of us will soon forget the images of the destruction in Hawaii. But now brand new headlines about devastating wildfires are crying for our attention. In Washington, raging wildfires are ripping across the western portion of the state at a pace that is absolutely breathtaking… Terrifying wildfires which have so-far killed one person are continuing to tear across Washington state with more than 20,000 acres burned this weekend. The entire North Western state remains under an alert, while the largest parkland area – Mount Spokane State Park – has been closed off to the public as firefighters battleto contain the inferno. In Spokane County, east Washington, the largest wildfire has razed 10,892 acres of land, destroying nearly 200 buildings and killing at least one person in its wake as thousandsevacuated the danger zone. Sadly, this is how it is going to be now. There is just going to be one thing after another, and most people will have absolutely no idea why any of this is happening. ------------------------------- Chicago citizens beg gangs to stop shootings - BillWilson www.dailyjot.com Gun control means begging criminals not to shoot unarmed people, like women, children and old folk. Thats what its come to in one of the most gun controlled cities in thenation. Native Sons, a Chicago nonprofit, has asked the gangs there to only conduct their shootings from 9:00 pm to 9:00 am. Tatiana Atkins, co-founder of Native Sons told CWBChicago that Our goal is to approach our citys gun violence problem strategicallyand not all at once. Things didnt become this way overnight, and change wont happen overnight. Translated: The toughest gun control laws in America have only emboldened gang violence and now we have to politely ask gangs for daily ceasefires. Atkins said If people know that after a certain hour, the likelihood of them being shot by an unknown and unprovoked assailant are at a higher risk, they will be less likelyto be out and about, and they may become more proactive with the supervision of their children. So she went to gang members trying to get them to limit their shootings to certain hours of the night. She says, At the end of the day, five-year-olds are beingkilled by gun violence, 14-year-olds are being killed by gun violence, 78-year-olds are being killed by gun violence, pregnant women are being killed by gun violence, young boys with bright futures are being killed by gun violence, fathers are being killedby gun violence, and this shouldnt be happening, Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris once again made the false claim that gun violence is the leading cause of death of the children in Americaits not, motor vehicledeaths areShe said August 11 that gun violence was a form of a disease that is the number one killer of children. Then she went on to call for more gun control in the form of an assault weapons ban, universal background checks, and red flag lawsall threeare failing in her home state of California as well as in the gang-ridden death climate of Chicago, also run by gun-banning Democrats. Facts are that gun control only puts guns in the hands of those who dont care about the lawin the Midwest we call themcriminals, not spreaders of some gun disease. The Vice President and her political party have pushed disarming the American citizenry for decades only to prove their esoteric dream of a utopian state free of gun violenceis turning places like Chicago into a living nightmare. You see, both Atkins, though probably well-meaning, and Harris and her ilk are delusional. Its really not gun violence. Its criminals and gangs shooting people. They are going to find guns no matterhow stringent the controls. What needs to be done is doing away with the gangs and criminals. Guns arent violent, people are. Psalm 7:9 says, Oh let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the just. Lying about child death rates and begginggangs to stop their shootings during daylight hours wont stop the wicked. Thinking it will is, say it with meStupidocrisy. ------------------------------- Americans No Longer Have Faith in Our Major Institutions, And So Is the Collapse of Our Civilization Inevitable?- by Michael Snyder - http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/americans-no-longer-have-faith-in-our-major-institutions-and-so-is-the-collapse-of-our-civilization-inevitable/ If the American people have lost faith in almost all of our major institutions, how is our civilization going to survive? If any collective effort is going to work, peoplehave to believe in that effort. That is true whether we are talking about a sports team, a business partnership, a romantic relationship or a nation as a whole. When people stop believing, it is just a matter of time before failure arrives, and at this pointthe American people simply do not believe in those that are currently running our society. In fact, a recent Gallup survey discovered that faith in our major institutions has dropped to depressingly low levels. The survey asked people if they have a greatdeal or quite a lot of confidence in a long list of prominent institutions, and these were the results •Small business: 65 percent •The military: 60 percent •The police: 43 percent •The medical system: 34 percent •The church or organized religion: 32 percent •The U.S. Supreme Court: 27 percent •Banks: 26 percent •The public schools: 26 percent •The presidency: 26 percent •Large technology companies: 26 percent •Organized labor: 25 percent •Newspapers: 18 percent •The criminal justice system: 17 percent •Television news: 14 percent •Big business: 14 percent •Congress: 8 percent For nine of those major institutions that Gallup has been tracking since 1979, the average score has dropped from 48 percent to 26 percent over that time. And Gallup says that confidence in almost every institution is currently at or near all-time lows Most of the institutions rated this year are within three points of their all-time-low confidence score, including four that are at or tied with their record low. These arethe police, public schools, large technology companies and big business. Only four institutions have a confidence score significantly above their historical low: the military, small business, organized labor and banks. However, the lows for theseinstitutions were recorded more than a decade ago, while the recent trend for each has been downward. Of course the truth is that most of our major institutions fully deserve these low scores. Our federal government, our schools, our medical system, our major corporations and the mainstream media have all become beacons of corruption and incompetence in recent years. Everywhere you look, society is breaking down and things are getting worse. Let me give you one small example. In New York City, the rat problem has become so severe that they have just held their very first Anti-Rat Day of Action As New York City gets tough on its rodent problem, the first Anti-Rat Day of Action was held Saturday in Harlem. City agencies, including the sanitation department, teamed up to show and tell people how to keep rats out of the community. The citys first rat czar was also on hand to provide times. If you live in a city that needs to appoint a rat czar, you should probably consider moving. According to one resident, there are rats the size of Crocs running around all over the place Weve had rats the size of Crocs just running up and down the street. Like a Croc shoe? A average size eight, running up and down the street, Harlem resident Ruth McDanielssaid. Harlem is part of one of four mitigation zones in the city that will get additional funding to help combat rats. Yuck! Once upon a time, Americas shiny new cities were the envy of the entire world. But now our major cities have degenerated into rotting, decaying hellholes. For instance, just consider what has happened to St. Louis In 1950, St. Louis was the eighth-largest city in the United States, with a population of 856,796. Today, that number has fallen to less than 300,000, a drop of some 65 percent.Major employers Anheuser-Busch, McDonnell-Douglas, TWA, Southwestern Bell and Ralston Purina have dramatically reduced their presence or left altogether. St. Louis is consistently ranked one of the most dangerous cities in the country. One in five peoplelive in poverty. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department has the highest rate of police killings per capita of the 100 largest police departments in the nation according to a 2021 report. Prisoners in the citys squalid jails, where 47 people died incustody between 2009 and 2019, complain of water being shut off from their cells for hours and guards routinely pepper-spraying inmates, including those on suicide watch. The citys crumbling infrastructure, hundreds of gutted and abandoned buildings, emptyfactories, vacant warehouses and impoverished neighborhoods replicate the ruins of other post-industrial American cities, the classic signposts of a civilization in terminal decline. I wish that I could tell you that St. Louis was an exception. But it isnt. All over America, cities are descending into chaos, and violence is out of control. One particularly disturbing incident in Oakland has made a lot of headlines in recent days Shocking video has emerged of a woman being pistol-whipped and dragged across gravel by two thugs in Democrat-led Oakland as the city grapples with a surging crime wave. The attack happened on Wednesday August 16, 6.15pm on International Boulevard, and left the unidentified woman with severe injuries, police investigating in the East Bay citysaid. Conditions in Oakland just continue to get worse and worse, and at this point things are so bad that some local business owners are comparing conditions in the city to theVietnam War This latest incident is an example of violent crime running rampant across the Dem-led city, with business owners now comparing the area to a battleground akin to wartimeVietnam. Its become so severe that the citys police force are also warning residents to secure their homes while theyre inside. This is our country now. You might want to get used to it, because things arent going to turn around any time soon. In the early days of our country, Americans made the Protestant work ethic famous all over the world. Our forefathers worked insanely hard, and they passed down a truly great society to us. But now we dont want to put in that same level of work. Instead, we just keep getting lazier and lazier. If a new bill that was just introduced in Pennsylvania becomes law, any business that has at least 500 workers will be forced to reduce their work week from 40 to 32 hoursa week When those rare 3-day weekends pop up on the work schedule, its an office-wide celebration! Well, what if that was every week? A new bill to create a four-day work week is about to be introduced in the Pennsylvania legislature. It would require businesses with more than 500 employees to reduce their work week from 40 to 32 hours a week. However, less work hours will not mean less pay! Doesnt that sound great? Hey, I have an idea. Lets just not work at all and see how that turns out. Sadly, we are even passing on our laziness to our kids. In Portland, teachers will soon be banned from giving zeroes to kids that cheat or fail to do their assignments Portland Public Schools is workshopping new equitable grading practices that bar teachers from assigning zeros to students who cheat or fail to turn in assignments. The districts initiative aims to address racial disparities and inequities in grading and instruction, a journey that the district began during the pandemic, a handoutreviewed by the Washington Free Beacon says. Grading for equity, the handout states, includes eliminating zeros as a gradeeven when a student cheats or fails to turn in a test or assignment. It also calls for no penalties for late work and no grades forboth homework and non-academic factors, such as participation, attendance, effort, attitude, [and] behavior. Are you kidding me? If this keeps up, how will we compete with the rest of the world? The truth is that we wont. Our society is crumbling right in front of our eyes, and unless we find a way to turn things around we wont last much longer. But at this point most Americans simply do not have any motivation to make this country a better place. Most of them would rather sit on their sofas stuffing Cheetos into their faces as they watch Netflix. ---------------------------------------------------------- The threatened Democracy - Bill Wilson www.dailyjot.com From nearly every court case about election fraud in Democrat-controlled states to the infamous January 6 Committee to the indictments against former President Donald Trumpto the indictments against alternative electors, democracy is under attack. But its not what you think it is. This kind of democracy is not democracy of the majority rule, it is democracy of the agenda rule and it is the ultimate end game of democracytyranny. The Democrats have their own brand of democracy. Yes, it is wrapped in the American flag and apple pie, but it is as dark and dangerous to this country as any hostile nation because it is undermining the Constitutional Republic from within. How many times to you hear Democratic leadership such as Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Chuck Schumer, etc., etc., play the This is a threat to Democracy card?Every time somebody like Trump comes against a Democratic Party agenda item they make this claim. If you question child grooming of sexual perversion by the LGBTQ+ community, its a threat to democracy. If you stand up for Second Amendment rights, its a threatto democracy. If you are pro-life, conservative, or conservative Christian, you are akin to a terrorist. If you use the CDCs and FDAs own information to question the governments mandates and actions on COVID, you are a threat to democracy. It never ends. In a Democrats eyes, a threat to democracy is anything that questions the Democratic Party agenda. It has nothing to do with democracy. It has everything to do with a brand.Think about all the attacks on those who come against the brand. They have tried Donald Trump for impeachment on made up charges; they have impeached Trump for influence peddling when it was Biden who was doing the pay for influence scheme; they have accusedTrump of election chicanery; and anyone who questions the integrity of the election is considered an insurrectionistanyone. If you do not tow the line, pick up the rope and pull, for the brand and the agenda, you are a threat to democracy and must be dealtwith as such. The real threat is to the brand of the Democratic party, which supports immorality and lawlessness. You must comply with the tyranny or face the bullying, name calling, andlabeling that accuses you of doing exactly what they are doing. The American Ideal has been hijacked. The administrative state, statism, is so vast and powerful that we dare not question its authority. The government, in the Democratic leaderships eyes, isgod. As true Christians we know that we are to have no other gods before God Almighty. The Democratic Party and the administrative state mocks God. Galatians 6:7 says, Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. Question is: how long will Americans allow themselves to be mocked by a tyrannical, immoral mob that elevates itself above the highest authority? -----------------------------
