The Writing on the Wall

The Writing on the Wall - Wendy Wippel - http://www.omegaletter.com/articles/articles.asp?ArticleID=7863

Headline, August 7: ''Vladimir Putin signs $20 billion agreement with Iran''. The treaty lets Russia dodge sanctions and helps Iran boost oil revenue and imports. Students of Scripture were quick to recognize its prophetic implications. But to really understand its significance, we need to hear not from Putin, but from another Vlad. Vladimir Zhirinovsky.

Zhirinovsky is founder and the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, and vice-chair of the DUMA.

And a colonel in the Russian Army.

Zhirinovsky's known as the "showman" of the Russian political landscape, espousing Russian pre-eminence and Kremlin propaganda in a no-holds barred fashion. He's also considered the Kremlin's mouthpiece, kind of a town crier for Putin's oppressive and/or aggressive Kremlin policies.

Don't get the wrong idea about his Liberal Democratic Party. He's not liberal, and he's definitely not democratic. He once asserted that "only fear makes people work" and he expresses, regularly, his repugnance towards all not ethnically Russian and the need for Russia to purge all such fellow countryman.

And that's his gentle side.

He's has also threatened to bomb Japan, take back Alaska, attack Germany and Kazakhstan and to blow radioactive waste over the Baltics.

Zhirinovsky also genuinely believes it's Russia's manifest destiny to re-create the Byzantine Empire, an aspiration that he outlined in his book, "The Final Thrust South". In that book, Zhirinovsky outlines his plan for Russia to rule all the land south of it, as far as both the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Russia has to do it, he says, for three reasons:
1.Russia wants to: "This may not be pleasant for those in Kabul, Teheran, and Ankara.... But the world will understand that if Russia needs it that means it's good."
2.Their army has nothing better to do: "The Russian army needs this. It will let our boys flex their muscles instead of sitting around the barracks. Armed forces are only born in combat operations. You cannot build an army in commissariats and barracks."
3.They need it to ensure their security and prosperity, and to bring peace to the world: "This will provide stability for Russia in our region and for the world... Our army will carry out this task. It will be a means for the nation as a whole to survive and a way to restore the Russian army. This would be a cleansing for all of us. The sound of Russian Orthodox Church bells on the shores of the Indian Ocean and Mediterranean Sea would ring out a message of brotherhood of the peoples, prosperity, calm, and an end to all military and ethnic conflicts for the residents of the region. It would be good for all of us, because everyone would be a winner. Only America would not be pleased, but she won't interfere." (Written way before the current administration was in office). "The alternative to the development of this situation is too grave for her if she interferes."  Russia will carry out what I have outlined. It will carry out its great historic mission and free the world of wars... "'Russia must quickly become a strong and powerful state; it must have expanses of open water on its maritime borders."

At one point Zhirinovsky waxes poetic about this vision, he cherishes for his homeland:

"Let Russia make its final "thrust" to the south. I can see the Russian soldiers gathering for the final expedition southward. I can see Russian commanders in Russian division and army headquarters, mapping out the route for the military formations and the endpoints of those routes. I see aircraft gathered in air bases around the southern regions of Russia. I see submarines surfacing near the coastline of the Indian Ocean and amphibious assault ships nearing the shore where Russian soldiers are already marching, armored infantry vehicles are on the move and great masses of tanks are rolling through. Russia will finally make her last military expedition."

He's all sentimental. But he finishes with a really chilling statement:

"There will never be another war from the South for Russia, and it has long since been impossible for war to come from the North. In the West they understand this."

"And in the East they will find out".

Zhirinovsky, long thought to be Putin's inevitable successor, absolutely intends to carry this vision out.

Just yesterday, Zhirinovsky threatened Poland and the Baltic States with carpet bombings, apparently for disagreeing with Russian policies in Ukraine:

"Whatever directives Barack Obama signs, they won't have any power. All questions of war and peace in general and in particular those relating to Ukraine will be solved by one person, the head of the Russian Federation," he said."  "The Baltic States and Poland are doomed," he said. "They will be wiped out. Nothing will remain there. The heads of these dwarf states should think who they are. Of course, nothing threatens America, because it is far, but Eastern European countries risk to be destroyed completely. This is their fault, because we cannot accept planes and missiles to be launched to Russia from their territories. We need to destroy them 30 minutes before the launch."

This is the man that apparently represents the future of Russian politics. A man that believes that Russia has defacto eminent domain over whatever territories it wants, and whose intent to annex Israel as part of the new Byzantine empire has been published.

In Iran, a country whose former leader, Ahmadinejad, regularly threatened Israel with destruction, we have a new president, Hassam Rouhani (initially reported to be a progressive) who has himself called Israel a "festering Zionist tumor and a wound on the Muslim world", calling for "Jerusalem to be 'liberated' from Israel".

And now, after millennia of mutual hatred, we have these two powers officially in bed with each other.  Just as prophesied in Ezekiel, before they decide mutually, and with help from their Arab neighbors, to finally do something about their mutual enemy, Israel.  In an event that the Bible describes as the Gog and Magog War.

Zhirinovsky describes his plan for Russian domination of pretty much the entire Eastern Hemisphere as the only way to escape the "Israeli trap." If you've read Ezekiel 38 and 39, you know that Israel doesn't really need to worry. God's got their back.

Zhirinovsky has also issued a prophecy: "When Russia rises, America falls".

We're living that... and you don't have to be Ezekiel (or Daniel) to read the writing on the wall.
