The New Atheism Fizzles Out - Todd Strandberg - http://www.raptureready.com/rap16.html
About five years ago, atheists suddenly became very popular. So many books on the subject were on the bestsellers lists that the liberal media declared the age of New Atheism had come. The movement reached its zenith in March of 2012 with a huge Reason Rally in Washington DC.
As we fast-forward to 2014, things don't look so hot for atheism. There are no books on atheism on the charts. Last week, I went to the largest bookstore in Little Rock and I could only find one book on atheism on the shelves. What seems to have replaced them are books on paganism and witchcraft.
I've kept track of the leading atheists on YouTube by subscribing to their channel. Back in 2009, most of them were updated every few weeks. Today, I rarely get a notification that a new video has been posted.
It is very easy to see the problem with atheists: All they have is their opposition to Christianity. The top three books, The God Delusion and God Is Not Great and End of Faith, harp endlessly about the evils of the Bible. (After you post 50 videos on the Creationism/ Evolution debate it's hard to come up with original ideas.)
Some of the authors did try to follow-up their anti-God rants with books that attempt to make a religion out of the wonders of the universe. Rickard Dawkinks' book, The Greatest Show on Earth tried to present evolution as something to be worshipped. The new "COSMOS" series starring Neil deGrasse Tyson received huge coverage by being aired on several cable networks at the same time. It received poor ratings, probably because it had a very preachy tone. In one clip Tyson shows an image taken by the Voyager spacecraft. The earth is seen as a tiny blue dot, and somehow he expected the viewers to be impressed by our insignificant standing in the universe.
The hatred of God by atheists often reaches the level of absurdity. The National Secular Society and a site called Unbaptism.org are offering certificates to people who want to revoke their baptism. One of the certificates reads:
[Name] having at one time willingly submitted to the Rite of Christian Baptism and subsequently having realized my beliefs were in error, I hereby publicly revoke any and all implications of that Rite and renounce the church that carried it out. In the name of human reason, I reject all that church's creeds and all other such superstitions. I wish to be excluded henceforth from claims of church membership numbers based on past baptismal statistics.
A key problem with atheism is that it only works when attacking Christianity. This became clear when the liberal darlings Bill Maher and Sam Harris, pointed out the obvious errors of the Islamic faith. When these outspoken atheists pointed out the common view of Muslims, they were vilified in the press. Actor, Ben Affleck, said it is racist to speak so generally about Muslims. But that's like saying Catholicism is a race.
If Islam took over America-freedom of the press, women's right, homosexuality, the sale of alcohol and religious liberty would be banned. To explain the liberal media's weird defense of Islamic actions, I have to go back to a term I developed years ago: Demonomics - Views held by a group or person that defies any earthly rational. The only way this can be explained is through the influence of demonic sprits. Ephesians 6:12 says clearly:
"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
Atheism is doomed to fizzle out because world events are moving in the opposite direction. Bible prophecy warns that the Tribulation hour will see the rise of "great whore" religion that will join together all faiths. Since atheism is an empty shell, its members will be easily seduced by the coming harlot church.
"And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will show unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH" (Revelation 17:1-5).
