Mercer Island, Washington is contemplating on signing an interlocal agreement with King County to install fingerprint identification systems in police cars that are designed to improve efficiency. The new $1,150 mobile ID devices are designed to help police officers identify suspects in the field that are lying about their names or other key information. Remote searches are able to provide an ID response in less than two minutes.

Australia Prepares for World War III
The Abbott Government, the federal executive Government of Australia is reviving its $8.5 billion Air Warfare Destroyer Program (AWD). A looming World War III has been widely reported since the annexation of Crimea by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The AWD is designed to protect personnel against missiles and other attacks launched by enemy aircraft.

Irish Vote for Palestinian Statehood
Israel has slammed the decision of the Irish parliament to adopt a non-binding resolution supporting an independent Palestinian state. Foreign ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon accused the Irish parliament of giving voice to "statements of hatred and anti-Semitism directed at Israel of genocide. The Foreign Minister said Ireland is considering early recognition of Palestinian statehood as a possible tactic for kick-starting Middle East peace talks.

U.S. for International Religious Freedom
Rabbi David Saperstein has become the first Jew to represent the United States as ambassador at large for international religious freedom, the first non-Christian to hold the post. After earning 61 Senate votes in his favor, Saperstein will begin work at the State Department. The ambassador travels the world making the case for minorities facing persecution or discrimination.

PA Wants to Prosecute Israel
The Palestinian Authority's (PA) UN envoy, Riyad Mansour, told member-states of the International Criminal Court (ICC) that the Palestinians plan to join the ICC "at an appropriate time." It is the court where the Palestinian people desire to seek justice for the war crimes and crimes against humanity being perpetrated against them by Israel, the occupying power, in the occupied Palestinian territory, including east Jerusalem," he charged.

Kerry Declines Veto Guarantee
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said he would not guarantee the U.S. will veto unilateral Palestinian actions at the United Nations. Jordan and France have publicly declared their intentions to move forward with resolutions that would set a UN-mandated timeline for Israel's withdrawal from the West Bank, without approval or consultation with Jerusalem. The Palestinian Authority has said that it plans to submit its own resolution.
