'The Hal Lindsey Report': 9.18.15

'The Hal Lindsey Report'   On this program a few weeks ago, I discussed the Russian-Iranian led coalition of nations described in Ezekiel 38. Since that time, something mind-boggling has taken place. The Russian military is moving troops, heavy armor, fighter jets, anti-aircraft batteries, missiles, and Navy ships to Syria.

The Russians have had military cooperation with Syria for a long time, but the present operation is beyond anything Russia has ever done in the Middle East.

At first, the Russians denied that any extra men or materiel was going to Syria, but that's S.O.P. for them.

Now, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has finally admitted to some limited military presence in Syria. But he says Russia is there only to fight ISIS, not bolster Syrian strongman Bashar al-Assad.

Of course, assisting Syria's beleaguered army to defeat his enemies will certainly bolster Assad's chances of hanging on to power.

There's no doubt that Russian president Vladimir Putin also sees this as an opportunity to extend Russia's influence into the oil rich Middle East. And, of course, it's a chance to support Russia's other ally in the region: Iran.

In Bible prophecy, Russia and Iran are known as Magog and Persia.

Syria sits on Israel's northeast border. Folks, this puts Magog's army next door to Israel.

I do not believe this is the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38, yet. But it strongly foreshadows it. The pieces are falling into place before our eyes.

The alliances of the end times are being formed right now.

One of the gravest of the many crises facing the world right now is the explosion of refugee movements. The Bible says that as we near the end times persecution of Christians, lawlessness, and false prophets would rise.

Those conditions are exploding around the world. And each of them causes the flight of refugees.

Even the rise of false prophets. A false prophet is someone who claims to speak for the one true God, but does not.

Did you ever consider that every one of the Islamic figures wreaking havoc in the world today, such as Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS, and Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram, are spiritual leaders who raise their armies and conduct their bloodthirsty campaigns on Islamic religious teachings?

Each of these false prophets (and there are many more) is responsible for the dislocation of thousands, and, in some cases, millions of refugees. Just as the Bible predicted.

In the refugee crisis, radical Islam is the primary problem and it is being largely ignored. Even worse, radical Islam is spreading along with the millions of refugees throughout the world.

Now that the Iran nuclear deal has been ramrodded through the Senate on technical procedural grounds, the New York Times has declared that it will be "a legacy-defining foreign policy achievement" for President Obama. But what kind of legacy will it be?

It has already triggered a nuclear arms race among the Middle Eastern nations who feel threatened by Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons. And since Iran makes no secret of its desire to use a nuclear weapon to "wipe Israel from the map," the war that it portends will be part of Obama's "legacy-defining... achievement."

To help win back the countries who feel the United States sold them down the river, Obama has promised to increase their military aid. In other words, he's admitting that he has to further arm the countries of that already heavily-armed region because we cannot trust Iran. The same Iran to which he just gave carte blanche to pursue a nuclear capability. And $150 billion with which to do it!

Finally, believe it or not, many media pundits and some liberal politicians in Israel have been hammering Israel for not accepting Syrian refugees.

They don't see -- or maybe they do -- that taking in thousands of Syrians will pose a major threat to Israel's national security. Every jihadist in the region will be trying to find a place in that line.

Knesset Member Ze'ev Elkin says they are willing to compromise Israel's security for "one minute of favor" with the world's media.

That's a terribly high price to pay for something completely worthless.
