Flawless and Lawless - J.L. Robb -

When I was twenty, I was flawless. And really, really smart. I definitely knew more than my parents and their friends, often wondering where they got such strange ideas, like: No drinking, no smoking, no sex until marriage, stay married, think about your future and play later. I was like the prodigal's son in too many ways.
When you don't believe in God, it's easy to be flawless. When you do believe in God, you find many flaws.
Jewish Law clearly spelled out what God considers flaws and not-flaws, only no one at the time could follow the 600+ laws, flawlessly. Some thought otherwise, the flawless, like the Pharisees and Sadducees.
As a rule, people do not like to follow rules.
Leviticus 20, the sexual rules chapter, starts out with a warning to the Israelites that they are not to sacrifice their children to Molek, described as "the detestable god of the Ammonites."
Sacrifice to Molek, aka Molech, Moloch and Chemosh, was addressed in Leviticus 20 because of all the sexual rituals included in the worship of this particular rock. God did not like His chosen sacrificing their children to anything, much less a graven image; and His rules were much different than their desires, much like today.
King David became smitten with Bathsheba while her husband was fighting in the war. In no time, David had gone from almost flawless to a covetous adulterer.
In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war, David sent Joab out with the king's men and the whole Israelite army. They destroyed the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. But David remained in Jerusalem.
One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful, and David sent someone to find out about her. The man said, "She is Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite." 2 Samuel 11:1-3 NIV
King David was described as a man after God's own heart.
After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: 'I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.' Acts 13:22 NIV
Only David did not do everything God wanted him to do, and it was all because of arguably, man's weakest link and strongest drive. Sex.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if there were no abortions? Yet the world aborts about 35,000,000 babies each year. The United States is responsible for nearly two million of those each year. And the media doesn't bat an eye.
Some of our churches and synagogues preach loudly about the sin of homosexuality but say little about the sin of murder, or the sin of adultery.
"You shall not murder." Exodus 20:13 NIV
"You shall not commit adultery." Exodus 20:14 NIV
The media does bat an eye at some things though, even if little, aborted babies wield no influence.
Kristan Gray, a Christian author, posted an interesting entry today on social media, from LifeNews.com:
There are 9,322 species of plants protected by law.
Not humans.
93 birds are protected under the Endangered Species Act.
But not humans.
Reptiles, amphibians and fish constitute over 200 of the species federally protected by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
But not humans.
More than 200 invertebrates (animals without a backbone) are federally protected. They include oyster mussels, white abalones, armored snails, American burying and delta green ground beetle, several species of butterflies, pomace flies, spruce fir moss spiders, cave crayfish, fairy shrimp and elkhorn coral.
A type of flies is federally protected.
Flies.
But not humans.
The media is always concerned about important stuff, like the snail darter; but unborn pandas are more important than unborn children.
This list could go on-and-on. Some folk care more about baby pandas and whales than baby human beings. An eagle is shot and the populace is shocked and abhorred, yet we don't bat an eye at millions of aborted children. Isn't this similar to sacrificing children to Molek?
The West, once the bastion of Christianity, has become more flawed than ever. The United States is following in the footsteps of Europe.
It is heroic to have sex-change surgery, but go ahead and throw the baby out with the bathwater.
It is progressive and open-minded to think two men marrying is somehow normal behavior, but do not mention God or Jesus Christ in the public school system or square. Two men marrying is good; mentioning God is bad.
We reason: It is not a loss of life when an abortion occurs, it is simply the elimination of some dividing cells.
News Flash: Cells wouldn't be dividing if they were not alive; and that life would be human in the case of human abortion. Flawed.
North Carolina is in the news since Governor Cuomo of New York has banned "non-essential" travel to the Tar Heel State. The N.Y. governor is upset because North Carolina decided that men who want to be women cannot go to the Lady's Room and have to go to the Men's Room, since they are male.
How would you like your sixteen-year-old daughter using the restroom with a man in the next stall? This is a concern that should really not even be an issue. Not many years ago, transgenderism was called insanity. Now you get a Vanity Fair cover. Flawed.
If surgical techniques continue to advance into the realm of abnormality, will they be able to make us a cocker spaniel? Is a line ever to be drawn?
What about Richard Hernandez in Arizona? According to the Daily Mail in an April 5 article, Richard is now 55-year-old Eva Tiamet Medussa. Eva, after extensive surgery is now a transgender dragon lady. Her nose and ears have been removed and horns implanted onto her fully tattooed face. Flawed.
The ancient Jewish prophets had a lot to say about a future event called, among other things, the time of Jacob's trouble. We also know it as the Tribulation and the Last Days. The reason this event is to occur is because of man's defiance of and lack of faith in God and the Messiah that He sent to save us from ourselves. Our total destruction had already been planned once; but God loved Noah, thankfully.
One of the predictions about the Last Days is that it will be like it was in the time of Noah. At that time people were killing their children for stone deities and sex reigned. Sound familiar?
It's easy to be flawless when we think God is a myth, and the rules are few if any. But as a Christian, I discover new personal flaws daily. I pray every day that the Good Lord will take care of my flaws, because it doesn't look like I'm going to.
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV
I pray for the flawless. They are usually the most flawed.
