Come on down for the new game in the nation's capitol--the Impeachment Game--hosted by Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA), produced by Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and sponsored by the Democratic Party. The goal of the game is to remove the President from office using the most outrageous false claim. Contestants are summoned by the Democratic leadership to appear in secret tribunals. The host gathers information to leak to the media, and spins the Wheel of Deception, which lands on the act the sponsor actually did, for which the president will be accused. All television networks will carry the Impeachment Game live every day, all day, until the public demands removal of the President or the ratings crash.

 

Just to spice things up, the producer of the show rewrote the rules to mimic the Constitution's impeachment process. It is real enough to make the American public think it is the same, but there are some subtle changes. Pelosi modeled the game off of old communist and socialist dictator coups where secret tribunals were established to accuse and convict people of false acts that could be considered high crimes and misdemeanors. The game has a social twist to it, where the audience must discern what is real. The audience is polled daily to decide which false accusation is gaining the most momentum to remove the president.

 

The game also provides for Defenders of the president. The Defenders must navigate the rules which are controlled by the producer and are written as the game continues to prevent exposing what is discussed in the secret tribunals, of which no Defender is allowed to attend. Defenders of the president are not allowed to call witnesses to expose the deeds the sponsors committed, but are used to accuse the president. Defenders also must navigate public opinion after being labeled continuously as bigots, homophobes, Islamophobes, misogynists, xenophobes, racists, having toxic manhood, benefactors of white privilege, capitalists, Christians, or other slurs the sponsor believes to be derogatory.

 

Contestants are summoned to testify before the secret tribunal, knowing that everything they say will be twisted when it is leaked to the news media. Contestants choosing not to testify, will be allowed to select consequences, such as going to jail, being fined large sums of money, or simply having their reputations ruined. Another group in the game is Complicit Participants. Complicit Participants are those who watch the Impeachment Game, but do nothing about it. The sponsor believes this group of people will ultimately determine whether the game is successful at removing the president. Hollywood is promoting the Impeachment Game as a blockbuster television hit, sure to demonstrate a social phenomena depicting a new normal for America. The game slogan is from Matthew 24:4: "Take heed that no man deceives you."

The Democratic Party's path to impeachment has taken some criticism for its secrecy. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff defended his secretive, behind closed doors approach to the impeachment by likening this phase of the investigation to a "grand jury."" Schiff told CBS's "Face the Nation" on Sunday, "We want to make sure that we meet the needs of the investigation and not give the president or his legal minions the opportunity to tailor their testimony and in some cases fabricate testimony to suit their interests." But the impeachment path is looking more like the pattern of a third-world country coup.

 

Congressmen Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and John Garamendi (D-CA) have confirmed that Democrats are discussing jailing those who refuse to testify against the president. Tlaib told Deadline Detroit that there were serious conversations taking place in the Democratic Caucus about the logistics of "detaining' someone if they refused to testify. In a CNN interview, Garamendi said, "I think it's time to call in the sergeant-at-arms and march them off to our little jail, which we do happen to have. Let them sit there and cool off for a while." House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has inferred that she wants to keep the investigation tight and simple so that Americans can understand what they are doing. Translated: control the narrative.

Agbeti says, "Coup plotters in the US may build up widespread dissension to culminate with an election, then they open up old wounds! Highly powerful plans that the coup plotters in the US are using and will repeatedly use are fake events or fake flags, including fake news! What could likely be responsible for the "big day" for a coup in the US? The enemies of state currently are clearly making it impossible for Trump to govern. This means government machinery may grind to PLANNED halts. Trump may be declared unfit to rule, there will be calls for his impeachment, fake pollsters will continue to churn out unscientific research findings on his unpopularity and image ratings."

 

The Democrats desire to keep the proceedings of their investigation secret. They can call who they want to testify and control the narrative with the news media because they are the mouthpiece of impeachment. The facts can be manipulated to sway public opinion because all the news surrounding it comes from a central source with distributed talking points. In a nation where transparency is valued, all this inquiry is done in the dark. Similar to the Song of Moses in Deuteronomy 32:28-29, Americans appear as "a nation without common sense, utterly lacking in discernment. O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!" Impeachment is a political reflection of public opinion. We cannot be silent about the things done in secret. Speak up.

Smokescreening, the false pretense of friendship toward Israel, is a common practice. Practitioners include US Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, former US president Barack Obama, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

 

There is also a mirror phenomenon in which Israeli leaders identify smokescreeners as friends, as when Israeli president Reuven Rivlin called German president Frank-Walter Steinmeier a "true friend of Israel."

 

Smokescreening is a widespread activity in both politics and society, yet it is mainly looked at as an individual hypocrisy rather than analyzed as a systematic phenomenon. Israel is regularly subjected to smokescreening.

 

Sanders is a super-smokescreener. He claims he is 100 percent pro-Israel and says Israel has every right in the world to exist in peace and security and not be subjected to terrorist attacks. He also says the US must be more "evenhanded" in how it approaches the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

 

He implies, but does not state outright, that the US should avert its eyes from genocide-promoting Hamas, the largest Palestinian Islamist movement, and from Palestinian terror attacks supported by financial rewards from the Palestinian Authority.

 

Sanders has said, "It's not antisemitic to criticize Israel for electing a right-winger like Netanyahu," and has called Netanyahu's government "racist." Yet he does not address the racism in large parts of Palestinian society. Mahmoud Abbas, president of the Palestinian Authority (PA), is an extreme racist. He has pledged that there will be no Israelis in the prospective Palestinian state, saying, "In a final resolution, we would not see the presence of a single Israeli -- civilian or soldier -- on our lands." Sanders is silent on this.

 

Sanders has said that the Palestinians deserve to be treated with "dignity and respect." He does not explain how people who are 93 percent antisemitic, according to a 2014 global study conducted by the ADL, merit that dignity and respect. Sanders' smokescreening of Israel warrants a full article of its own.

 

Another major smokescreener toward Israel is Barack Obama. While president of the US, he visited Israel in March 2013. He said at the Jerusalem Convention Center, "I bring with me the support of the American people, and the friendship that binds us together." He added, "As the president of a country that you can count on as your greatest friend, I am confident that you can help us find the promise in the days that lie ahead."

 

In that same Jerusalem speech, Obama openly bent the truth. He said, "But while I know you have had differences with the Palestinian Authority, I believe that you do have a true partner in President Abbas and Prime Minister Fayyad. Over the last few years, they have built institutions and maintained security on the West Bank in ways that few would have imagined a decade ago. So many Palestinians -- including young people -- have rejected violence as a means of achieving their aspirations." A few months later, Abbas would push Fayyad out.

 

In 2008, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Abbas discussed a peace agreement. Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat, who was present at the negotiations, told PA TV that Olmert accepted all the PA's demands. He even offered Abbas a little more than the full area of the West Bank. Erekat said he told Abbas to accept the extremely generous proposal, but Abbas rejected it.

 

In December 2016, in one of his last acts as president, Obama had the US abstain from voting on a major anti-Israel UN Security Council motion. The proposal demanded an immediate halt to all settlement construction in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

 

Through the abstention, Obama enabled the measure to pass. Donald Trump had already been elected president and would be installed a few weeks later. Trump had made it clear that he opposed the resolution and notified the White House, to no avail.

 

American law expert Alan Dershowitz said the former president told him he would always protect Israel, yet he believes Obama hurt the Jewish state with the abstention. He said, "President Obama's decision on the way out to allow the United Nations to condemn Israel for occupying the Western Wall, the holiest place in Judaism, the Jewish Quarter, Hebrew University, the Hadassah Hospital bypass road, was abominable."

 

In Europe, German politicians are among the foremost smokescreeners in regard to friendship with Israel. In view of the genocide of six million Jews in the grandfather generation, some leading Germans feel they cannot easily express negative opinions about Israel. A fully researched article about smokescreening by Germans, including leading individuals, is needed.

 

German politicians often appear to feel the need to pretend that their country is an almost unconditional friend of Israel. German Chancellor Angela Merkel, a Christian Democrat, has said Israel's security is part of Germany's national ethos.

 

The reality is far from that. As head of the German government, Merkel leads German policymaking. The German daily Bild pointed out that Berlin regularly sides with Israel's enemies at the UN. In November 2018, of 21 UN General Assembly resolutions against Israel, 16 were supported by Germany; it abstained on four.

 

Merkel is also a smokescreener as far as the fight against antisemitism is concerned. Despite significant German right- and left-wing antisemitism, she has welcomed far more than a million refugees since 2015 -- many from the Arab world. The percentage of antisemites among these immigrants is much higher than that of the indigenous population.

 

There are probably more prominent smokescreeners of friendship toward Israel in the other German government party, the socialists (SPD). A current example is Foreign Minster Heiko Maas. He has often said Auschwitz inspired him to go into politics, yet many German votes against Israel in the UN General Assembly have taken place under his authority.

 

Rabbi Abraham Cooper, the Associate Dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, has attacked Maas' behavior frontally: "Before he invokes Auschwitz again, he should go back and reread history. We expected much more from Foreign Minister Maas. Unfortunately, we find him on the wrong side of the tracks of the existential threats that Israel is facing every day. "

 

Cooper added, "With all due respect, it is time for the German foreign minister to drop his assertion that it was the lessons of Auschwitz that propelled him into public life. He clearly has not applied any of the lessons to the current situation. Instead of weakening the tyrannical, genocidal regime in Tehran, he is doing everything to strengthen Iran. His instructions to the German UN ambassador are not those of a friend of a Jewish state."

 

The "mirror" or "reverse" phenomenon also exists. Some Israeli leaders make the huge mistake of calling people who are smokescreeners "friends." President Reuven Rivlin called German socialist president Frank-Walter Steinmeier "a true friend of Israel" during his visit to the Jewish state in 2017. While FM, Steinmeier was responsible for a flood of German condemnations of Israel at the UN.

 

More recently, Steinmeier "congratulated the Iranian government cordially on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the revolution, also in the name of my fellow country citizens." The daily Tagesspiegel wondered whether one had to remind Steinmeier that "Iran is a sponsor of international terrorism, threatens Israel with destruction, denies the Holocaust, oppresses women, executes homosexuals, and punishes religious conversions with death."

 

The paper concluded: "The moral compass that should guide the words of a president of the German republic has in this case greatly failed." To put the congratulation of the Iranian government in even more perspective: When Donald Trump was elected US president in November 2016, Steinmeier, then FM, explicitly said he would not congratulate him.

 

Israeli leaders have found many ways to express gushing praise for people who are far from friendly toward Israel. When Shimon Peres, then Israel's president, visited Norway in 2014, he stated nonsensically, "Norway is the pearl of humanity, built on human values, and seeks to keep people equal and free."

 

A report, published in 2012 by the Norwegian Center for Studies of the Holocaust and Religious Minorities and paid for by the government, found that 38 percent of Norwegians believe Israel acts toward the Palestinians as the Nazis behaved toward the Jews. The tiny Norwegian Jewish community has suffered from substantial antisemitism in the country supposedly "built on human values."

While many in the pro-Israel community have been decrying President Trump's decision to withdraw US troops in northern Syria to make way for a Turkish invasion, Guy Bechor, one of Israel's most respected Middle East experts says that ironically, Israel stands to benefit significantly from the move in an interview on Channel 13's Morning Show.

 

In the interview, Dr. Bechor argues that most pundits in Israel don't understand what's really going on regarding the whole Trump/Kurd saga and that many of them are biased because they hate President Trump. "If Erdogan would have invaded Syria and killed US troops, they would have said that he dragged the US into an unnecessary war" Bechor explains "He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't".

 

 

Bechor then went on to explain that the balance of power between Sunni states like Turkey has been offset by Shiite powers like Iran. "But what Trump did was impose sanctions to weaken Iran, thus weakening the Shiites. However, there is no one to fight on the ground to stop those same Shiites. Then Erdogan told Trump that he is entering Syria as a Sunni power and to send thousands of Sunni soldiers inside."

 

Those troops he noted, are the Turkish backed Syrian Rebels.

 

This presented a great opportunity for Trump Bechor added. That's because the decision to withdraw troops in Syria kills two birds with one stone. On the one hand, Trump is "evacuating the US troops, which was (Trump's) campaign promise. I am also injecting a Sunni force into Syria that will challenge (Syria's Shiite affiliated leader)

Assad."

And since Syria is Iran's client state Iran is very concerned by the move noted Bechor adding that the Islamic Republic even announced that they will fight Erdogan's forces.

 

This means that Iranian proxies like Hezbollah are going to have to refocus their efforts to fight the Turkey's Sunni forces in the North which is "good for Israel" he explained.

 

Regarding the Kurds, Bechor reminded the show's host, Avri Gilad, that the Kurds in northern Syria are currently colluding with Assad and that the Kurds always flee when the going get tough.

 

"As Napoleon once said: 'Never interfere with an enemy while he's in the process of destroying himself.'. Why get interfere?" he concluded.

There are those who adamantly support President Donald Trump's move to allow Turkey to invade the area in Syria held by the Kurds. There are those who just as passionately oppose the move. Christians who support the president seem to be among those with very strong opinions one way or the other. Irrespective of how you feel about the foreign policy decision, as Christians we have a standard that we are to hold to-that is the Holy Scriptures. So often, the Bible is used to justify one political decision over another, yet it may not be applied consistently across all politicians. The foreign policy decision by the president is an example of this back and forth of Biblical applications.

 

The Kurds are a widely hated people. The Iranians don't like them. The Turks don't like them. The Syrians don't like them. The Turks believe them to be terrorists and a threat to the Turkish government, and want them destroyed. The Kurds, however, are great fighters. With assistance from the United States over the years, the Kurds played a large roll in fighting ISIS. They depended on US backing. The president's decision to pull troops off the border with Turkey was not as consequential as his policy decision to conditionally allow Turkey to invade the Syrian border. Turkey, however, didn't comply with the conditions and even began bombing US positions. This is the true Turkey of the foreign policy decision.

 

The president's decision had several results-both good and bad. It withdrew US troops from harms way (sort of); It left all the warring parties and enemies there to fight among themselves; It may have assisted Israel's security by creating a diversion on the Northern border; It further destabilized the area; It put US nuclear weapons in Turkey in danger; It turned our backs on US allies; It resulted in ISIS prisoners escaping; It endangered lives of Christians and Kurds to suffer extreme violence; It put the remaining US troops in harms way; and because Turkey didn't hold to its agreement, the president is now faced with undoing what he did, and Congress overwhelmingly (both parties) oppose his action.

 

Christian support of the president's decision appears to rely on two Biblical principles: Romans 13:1 that "The powers that be are ordained of God," and since Turkey is an end time player, Trump's decision hastens Christ's return. Criticism of President Trump is met with strong resistance and even hostility among many Christians. Criticism of the previous president was met with strong support among the same Christians. If the standard against criticism is that all leaders are established by God, then all leaders should be exempt from criticism. Are we to have it both ways? Let's not mock God. Decisions can be either bad or good, irrespective of the leader. As to hastening the return of Christ, God will have his way on his own time. We cannot stop the march of prophecy, we just don't want to be marching with the evil side no matter the political party.
