Dear Friend of Creation Moments,
As we approach the end of 2019, we see a lot of stories reviewing the “History of the Year”.
But consider this. The Bible not only gives us accurate “Earth History” and “Human History”, but it also gives us plenty of “History in Advance”!
It does this, for example, with the famous Christmas prophecies. Seven hundred years before the virgin birth of Jesus in the manger in Bethlehem, Isaiah prophesied that “a virgin shall conceive and bear a Son and shall call his name Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14). And the prophet Micah wrote that the Messiah would come out of Bethlehem (Micah 5:2), so that the chief priests and scribes could pinpoint that fact for the wicked king Herod as he deceptively tried to get the wise men to find the baby Jesus for him (Matthew 2:1-8).
Biblical prophecy is, indeed, amazingly precise! As we see in Isaiah 9:6, “For unto us a child is born” (His humanity, born as a human baby), “unto us a Son is given” (His divinity, ‘God the Son’ given by God).
The Bible is capable of foretelling the future with perfect precision, and describes a God who has the power to circumvent natural processes – as creationists know, for example, by speaking things into existence (Genesis 1; Psalm 33:6-9; Hebrews 11:3).
