Lawlessness Spreading Across the Land By Hal Lindsey For several years, we heard that millennials wanted to live in big cities. Sociologists said this trend would change everything. But, as with so many things, 2020 turned that trend on its head. Suddenly, Americans of all ages can't get to the suburbs and ruralareas fast enough. The move to the cities was made possible by dramatically lowering the crime rate in those cities. But now, urban crime is rising so fast it makes your head spin. A recent article in The Hill said, "An estimated quarter of a million New York residents will move upstate for good, while another 2 million could permanently move out of the state. More than 16,000 New York residents have already relocated to suburban Connecticut.The preliminary figures show New York is also losing citizens to rural New England and Florida in significant numbers." The housing boom in San Francisco seems to have finally gone bust-at least for now. Real estate prices there have dropped by more than 50%. It's still an expensive place to buy a home, but can you imagine how people feel who bought houses in that area onlya few months ago? The crisis in these cities comes in part from the coronavirus. But it is being exacerbated by the rise in violent crime. If you have been a regular viewer of my television programs through the years, you've heard me speak many times about the crucial role ofthe "thin blue line" of police in our communities. That line stands between us and the law of the jungle. That's especially true in times of crisis. Yet many cities are defunding, even dismantling their police departments. In New York, they have decided to take a billion dollars out of the police budget. Los Angeles wants to defund police to the tune of 250 milliondollars. In Minneapolis, they say they intend to dismantle their police department altogether. That means erasing the thin blue line. You can be sure that the elites in those cities will have all the security they need. But the poor and the middle class willbecome increasingly vulnerable. The Bible foretold that the time near the return of Christ would be marked by lawlessness. In Luke 17:26-30, Jesus compared those days to the times of Noah and Lot. Genesis 6:11 tells us that in the time of Noah, "The earth was corrupt in the sight of God,and the earth was filled with violence." That sounds like today-rampant violence and corruption. Lot lived in a time and place of violent mobs. In both stories, we see that people lacked empathy, and thought mostly of themselves and their pleasures. Several places in the Bible warn us that the endtimes will be times of "lawlessness." That, along with so many other signs, seems to be describing our day. Along with lawlessness, we're seeing an assault on the nuclear family. One organization being highly funded by corporate America plainly says on their website, "We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure." But the family structure is not "Western-prescribed," it is God-prescribed. It is the foundation of civilization. Notice how all these things are an attack on civilization itself. The judicial system and police are under fire. The concept of family is under fire. The educational system has been largely co-opted by people who hate God and the things of God. I could go onand on about the God-appointed institutions meant to protect us, that are now under siege. But if your hope is in Jesus Christ, know that He will never let you down. His promises remain true, even in times of trouble. And He has His people still on this earth for a distinct purpose. He's not through with us. He's not through with you! City after city is reporting a huge spike in the murder rate. In Chicago, at least 89 people were shot over the Fourth of July weekend, with 17 of them dying, including seven-year-old Natalie Wallace in Austin, a suburb of Chicago. The child was playing outside her grandparent's home when three suspects got out of a white van and fired around 20 shots, with the seven-year-old getting caught up in the incident. She suffereda gunshot wound to the forehead and was pronounced dead later that day. During a press conference, the child's father, Nathan Wallace, said: "It is sad you hear this on the news every day a child getting killed, somebody getting killed, but you don't think aboutit until it's your own." Chicago has seen a shocking rise in gun violence over the last month, and on 31 May, the city recorded its most violent day since in six decades; 25 people were killed and 85 were woundedby gunfire. This year, at least 350 people have been killed in the city, and since 20 June, nine children have died after being caught up in shootings. The leftist Mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio, has done everything he can to weaken and demoralize the city's Police Department. De Blasio promised to strip away a billion dollars from thepolice budget, and he disbanded a plainclothes unit of approximately 600 officers. In the last few weeks, the number of shootings was about three times greater than during the same time period in 2019. The lack of manpower on the street level makes it much harder to tackle rising felony crimes, and the growing number of illegal guns pouring into the neighborhoods adds to the problem. Commissioner Dermot Shea, during a recent interview, was asked about the reason for high crime levels. "It's bail reform. It's COVID. It's emptying out prisons," he said, noting that "one of the most frustrating pieces right now is a criminal justice system that is just not working. And I'mcalling on Albany to fix it. Fix it now." "I met with the five district attorneys of New York City last week on this issue. We have thousands and thousands of cases backlogged," said Shea. The liberal media have been instrumental in degrading the effectiveness of law enforcement. Any mistakes the police make are highlighted by this cabal of evil. It amazes me that the Americanpeople have allowed this madness to reach a point where the press is cheering on lawless thugs that seek to destroy our nation. CNN's Chris Cuomo sided with the mob during a contentious interview with Mark McCloskey, the man who went viral for brandishing a gun alongside his wife as the couple protected their homefrom protesters. The couple told police the protesters broke a gate to get onto the private street in St. Louis, and the pair say they only retrieved their firearms when they spotted "multiple" people who were already armed. Cuomo began the interview by asking McCloskey what it feels like to have become the "face of political resistance to the Black Lives Matter movement." McCloskey shot back that it was a "completelyridiculous" statement and said he was simply protecting his home. "I'm not the face of anything opposed to the Black Lives Matter movement; I was a person scared for my life," he said. "I was a victim of a mob that came through the gate; I didn't care whatcolor they were." If the so-called Black Lives Matter protesters had murdered the McCloskeys, it's unlikely that CNN would have reported their deaths. Just like the black people who get murdered every day inour major cities, the only deaths that matter are those that fit the liberal agenda. The left welcomes the lawlessness because they see it as helping the Democratic ticket in the upcoming election. Being an appeaser to this type of mob is like someone who feeds a crocodile - hoping it will eat him last. The McCloskeys were for Black Lives Matter until its followers invaded their property. This climate of lawlessness is the perfect setting for the rise of the antichrist. To have someone who will appear to be the ultimate savior of mankind, you need a problem for him to solve. ".... Wild-eyed actress Alyssa Milano, for example, tweeted "We need a National shut down now. Printcash. Give people UBI (Universal Basic Income) until we get this pandemic under control." This so-called "pandemic" is more out of control because of media-fear mongering and leftist socialist hijacking than the threat of the virus. Extreme leftists and DemocraticParty leadership are using COVID 19 to expand government, implement socialism, and institutionalize methods, such as mail-in voting, to maintain socialist power in the years to come. The fear factor is a tremendous lever to pry open the gates of tyranny. There are several dangerous components placing America on the path toward communism. First, is the threat to free speech and the exercise of religion. Somehow the minionsof satan have gained some faux moral high ground in demonizing anyone who disagrees with them. If you support President Trump, for example, you are labeled a racist, a bigot, a homophobe, Islamaphobe, xenophobe, misogynist or some other word that makes itsound like you have an incurable disease. When, in fact, in most cases these people are accusing others of exactly what they are. Look at the centuries-long history the Democratic Party has with respect to racism and oppressing black people. It's undeniable. Another dangerous component building the highway to tyranny is fear. The government, deep state, media, and leftists have used fear to advance their horribly destructiveideas. For example, think about how many conflicting reports there are on how deadly COVID 19 is, how fast or slow it spreads, how terrible it is to be infected, the concern of what will happen to you if you are infected, and will you be forced to have a government-mandatedvaccine. All these fear factors make the majority compliant in interrupting their lives and shutting down any contact with anyone. This is an obvious step toward tyranny. The government issuing payments to everyone impacted by COVID 19 is also a precedentof socialism. It uses fear to advance evil. Yes, evil. Socialism/communism is evil. It replaces God with government. It requires tyranny. It causes hunger. It deconstructs society. Itpits citizens against citizens. It uses fear to control. It is a darkness, a deep darkness. But as 1 Thessalonians 5:5-11 says concerning the Day of the Lord, "You are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor ofdarkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others...But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our LordJesus Christ...Therefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also you do." Be wise and circumspect in all you do, and know you need not fear if you have Christ.
