ISRAEL WATCH: 10.24.20 - The Enemy Never Sleeps

Israel Watch: The Enemy Never Sleeps - Jim Fletcher - www.thegodthatanswers.com We don't hear as much from the PLO ("PNA") these days. Not after the transformative work of Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump. They have sidelined the iconic terror group. The move of the US Embassy to Jerusalem, the recognition of the Golan Heights as Israeli, the cutting off of payments to PLO terrorists...all these things and much more have marginalized a group of killers that had been legitimized (even lionized) by Westerndiplomats. Arafat slept in the Lincoln Bedroom! Anyone that reads this space regularly knows, though, that I feel the Palestinian issue will be a major trigger of end-times events. They are not just going to go away. What is happening is that Trump and Bibi are keeping them at bay. But Western leaders are not leaders-for-life, as they are in the East, in the Middle East. After a few years, they will reappear, the terror chiefs, and we will be on tothe next "land for peace" deal. While Israel and America enjoy historically great leaders, Europe is in a death spiral, pandering to the Muslim invaders/immigrants. They continue to criticize Israel. Theycontinue to pass resolutions condemning Israeli sovereignty. And their friends in the Middle East keep on keeping on. Just this month, there has been a beehive of activity in Gaza and the PA Territories, attacking Israel physically and ideologically. "On October 8, 2020, a delegation of senior Hamas figures, including Musa Abu Marzouq, a member of the Hamas political bureau, and Husam Badran, arrived in Moscow for avisit lasting several days. The delegation met with a number of senior Russian officials, among the Mikhail Bogdanov, deputy foreign minister and presidential envoy to the Middle East. The Russians expressed support for the internal Palestinian reconciliation, saying that a successful reconciliation would help advance a resolution of the conflict. The Russians also expressed willingness to host a meeting of all the Palestinian organizations. Reportedly, the meeting with the Hamas delegation was the first step towardsa joint meeting of Hamas and Fatah with senior Russian government officials (al-Sharq al-Awsat, Hamas website, October 9, 2020)." Notice this meeting took place in Moscow! The Russians (and Turkey) are working mischief when it comes to Israel. Putin will always reach out to terrorists. He himself isa totalitarian. Israel watches warily. And within Israel, the bloodthirsty Palestinian Islamic Jihad is celebrating. "The PIJ marked its 33rd anniversary. The Hamas movement congratulated the PIJ and its leader, Ziyad al-Nakhalah, saying the organization played an important role in theliberation of Palestine. Hamas added that the military wings of both organizations, along with all the other organizations, were united in their struggle against Israel (Hamas website, October 5, 2020). Abu Muhammad, a member of the military council of the Jerusalem Brigades, the PIJ's military wing, claimed the military wing could inflict damage on Israel and would continueto develop its military capabilities (Filastin al-Yawm, October 6, 2020. Abu Hamza, spokesman for the PIJ's military wing, wrote a threatening open letter to Israel in which he said that in the next battle Israel's vital, sensitive sites would be targeted(Jerusalem Brigades website, October 6, 2020). Ziyad al-Nakhalah, PIJ leader, gave an online speech at the conference held to mark the organization's anniversary. "Among his themes were the following (al-Mayadeen, October 6, 2020): "A threat to Israel: He noted the commitment of his organization to jihad and 'resistance'] i.e., terrorism] saying that thanks to the 'resistance' the PIJ could attackIsrael's capital [i.e., Tel Aviv] and all its 'settlements' [i.e., cities, towns and communities]. He also said that the PIJ had proved it could attain new achievements and that Israel's targeted killings did not scare it. The internal Palestinian reconciliation: The PIJ had participated in the meeting of the organizations' leaders because it understood the will of the Palestinian people, but that did not mean they had abandoned their principles. He said the PIJ wanted to be part of the PLO but on the condition that the PLO would not recognize the State of Israel and would renege on all previous agreements signed with it. He also said theywould participate in PLO elections if they were held separately from the Palestinian Legislative Council elections. He said that at the present time the 'resistance' had to be the top priority (al-Mayadeen, October 6, 2020)." Palestine has been liberated? Sensitive sites will be targeted? No Israel recognition? What madness lies at the heart of the Palestinian leadership? No one has liberated Palestine except Israel! And if the Jewish sites "sensitive sites" were targeted? Thatenemy would cease to exist. Finally, we recognize Israel. God recognizes His people. They are engraved on the palms of His hands. My irritation with the PLO is with me too much. In fact, I should pray more (regularly) for these deluded people, both for their futile attempts to erase Israel and fortheir spiritual health. Pray that these people would recognize the Prince of Peace, before it is too late for them. Arab States look to Israel for Food Sustenance - www.jns.org Food security is emerging as a key area in which the United Arab Emirates is eager for Israeli expertise, investors in each country tell ISRAEL21c. The Gulf states import more than 90 percent of their food. This has long been a concern, but the issue intensified when pandemic-related transportation stoppages disruptedsupply for several months. The UAE now has a food security minister and Food Security Council. The Abraham Accords announced between Israel and the UAE on August 13-and with Bahrain a month later-give these countries access to promising food-supply solutions fromthe ground up. "The Gulf states see how we produce vegetables in the desert and are very impressed. This is essential to them and they seek companies that can deploy technologies tomorrow,"says Edouard Cukierman, chairman of Cukierman Investment House and managing partner at Catalyst Fund. He and senior partners of his Tel Aviv-based firm recently met with Hamed Ahmed Ali, CEO of Nasdaq Dubai and the local stock exchange, to discuss opportunities for Israelibusinesses. "One topic that came up again and again is food security," Cukierman tells ISRAEL21c. "They are ready to allocate a lot of funds to assuring their food supply." Established Israeli companies in fields such as precision agriculture and irrigation, seed treatment, desalination and solar energy can step swiftly into the welcoming UAElandscape and perhaps even partner with UAE ag-tech startups. "We have identified 200 companies that we think fit the food-security sector and we'll choose about 20 that have a major opportunity to deploy in the UAE," says Cukierman. He plans to introduce them at the first UAE version of his firm's GoforIsrael investment conferences, which normally happen in Tel Aviv, China and European countries suchas Switzerland. Abu Dhabi-based investor Ahmed Nasser Al Nowais confirms that producing food locally is a top priority. His country hopes to incorporate Israeli methods to do so economicallyand sustainably in a semiarid climate. "In our part of the world they are not focusing on agri-tech enough. I heard Israel has the best startup ecosystem and agri-tech is a big part of that," Al Nowais says. Cukierman learned that it's not only human food security at stake. The UAE's multimillion-dollar camel racing industry requires a million tons of ultra-premium feed annually. "They are looking for technology to help with that, and the head of our life-sciences division, Dr. Laurent Choppe, happens to be a veterinarian," Cukierman relates. Power in collaboration Ahmed Nasser Al Nowais tells ISRAEL21c that the Emiratis are "maybe even more excited than you guys" about the normalization agreement with Israel. "You have more excellent ideas than I ever saw from one country," he says. Coming from an investment family office, Al Nowais was an entrepreneur since age 16, and founded Annex Investments in 2017. His broad interests encompass sectors from automotiveto fitness, tourism and telecom. Annex has worked with VCs in Germany, India and Silicon Valley. In addition to Israeli agricultural technologies, he is also looking at health-tech, ed-tech, cybersecurity and machine learning. Al Nowais chairs the events committee of the new nonprofit, government-supported Emirates Angels Investors Association, which signed a partnership deal with Tel Aviv Capitalinvestment bank and co-hosted an online investor summit on September 22 with Jerusalem-based OurCrowd. "We're excited about this historic moment for the region, and to expand a community of peaceful coexistence and, most importantly, build a powerful engine of economic andcultural exchange," Emirates Angels Chairman Masaood Al Masaood told the multinational audience of about 1,000. About 2,000 people registered for a follow-up event, "UAE Tech Investment Landscape: Introduction for the Israeli Ecosystem," broadcast from Abu Dhabi on October 13. Emirati investors and entrepreneurs talked about opportunities for collaboration in what Sabah al-Binali, OurCrowd's new Venture Partner and Head of Gulf Region, calledthe "friendly business environment" of the UAE. Collaboration is power Al Nowais tells ISRAEL21c: "The three main objectives of the Emirates Angels Investors Association are to educate angel investors on opportunities and risks; collaboratewith incubators and accelerators in the UAE and around the world; and provide [vetted] startups to these angel investors. In a year or two, we want to be a safe place for angel investors to come to the UAE." He says mentoring and professional networking are just as vital for startups as financing. "It's important to get people to meet and share knowledge and experience. I believe in connecting and collaborating," says Al Nowais. He expects this will be easy to accomplishwith Israelis. "I think you have the best ecosystem because you collaborate together, even if you have differences. I think this is the power." Building gadgets and bridges together Last February, just before Covid hit the Middle East-and well before the Abraham Accords-Jerusalem-based serial entrepreneur and PICO Venture Partners cofounder and managingpartner Elie Wurtman visited the UAE and Bahrain. UAE investor Ibrahim Ajami had publicly invited Israelis to invest in his country and spurred similar invitations from leaders in other Gulf states. On October 18, Wurtman flew to the UAE on a historic direct flight from Tel Aviv with a delegation led by U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Steve Mnuchin. (A second group, led by Israel National Security Council head Meir Ben-Shabbat, flew directly to Bahrain to sign a joint communique and eight MoUs regarding future cooperation.) Wurtman wrote in an English-language Dubai newspaper that he was impressed by the UAE government's Ministry of Possibilities founded in 2019, and sees many opportunitiesfor Israeli water, desert agriculture and solar technologies, among others. More than that, he tells ISRAEL21c, "I am most passionate about collaborating around education and creating an exchange between Israeli and Emirati youth to engage in theworld of possibilities, innovation and creating a better future for all in the region." Next year, Wurtman plans to bring 20 young ambassadors from his PICO Kids initiative-founded in 2012 to provide informal education in STEEM (science, technology, engineering, entrepreneurship and math) to multi-ethnic Jerusalem fourth- to ninth-graders-to meet the next generation of entrepreneurs in the UAE. "They will build gadgets-and bridges-together. They will meet courageous investors like Ibrahim Ajami, eat hummus together, play backgammon or X-Box, and collectively workto solve some of the region's most pressing problems." Robo-taxis, security doors, COVID-19 fighters News of joint UAE-Israeli projects and investments has been swirling as thick as a sandstorm. Deals already happening under the radar were revealed, and many new collaborationsannounced. An online platform, the UAE-Israel List, was created "to enable like-minded companies and organizations in the UAE and Israel to start networking and build friendship, peaceand understanding through advancement of business." And it's not only business; it's also research and culture. This far from comprehensive list demonstrates the diversity of activity, not counting the area of food securityalready mentioned: •Israel's Mobileye signed a partnership with UAE-based Al Habtoor Group to deploy a fleet of self-driving robo-taxis in Dubai by the end of 2022. •Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries and TeraGroup signed agreements with UAE companies concerning Covid-19 research and solution development. •The diamond exchanges in Israel and Dubai will open offices in one another's countries to promote mutual trade. •APEX National Investment (UAE) and Sheba Medical Center (Israel) signed a strategic partnership regarding research, technology and medical tourism. •Israel's Mul-T-Lock Group is opening a Dubai subsidiary. •The Weizmann Institute of Science (Israel) and Mohamed bin Zayed University (UAE) will collaborate on artificial intelligence research. •Dubai-based private equity fund KEN Investments and Barker and Booth Commercial Agency each made their first Israeli investments-KEN in Salaryo and B&B in Fintica, both fintechstartups. •Arab-Israeli soccer player Dia Saba signed a three-year contract with Dubai-based soccer club Al-Nasr SC. •Dr. Uri Pollak from Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem and Dr. Kesava Ramakrishnan from Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi co-hosted "The Future of PediatricCardiac Critical Care" webinar for 400 physicians and nurses from 35 countries on October 1. •The UAE's Etihad Airways launched a Hebrew-language website for customers interested in the direct Tel Aviv-Abu Dhabi route. •The Israel Export Institute signed a joint agreement with the Dubai World Trade Centre Authority to facilitate the participation of Israeli exhibitors in large-scale exhibitionsby year-end. •The Abu Dhabi Film Commission and the Israel Film Fund will establish joint training and development programs for Emirati and Israeli filmmakers in partnership with the JerusalemSam Spiegel Film & Television School. •URE Universal of Ramat Gan partnered with the UAE's Hamad Bin Khalifa Department of Projects to launch an IoT home healthcare kit, HBKiCare, for the UAE and Middle East regionalmarkets. •OurCrowd signed a memorandum of understanding with UAE-based Phoenix business development company, and appointed Emirati investor Sabah al-Binalias as its venture partnerfor the Gulf region. Edouard Cukierman notes that the UAE is a business hub for the Gulf countries, like Singapore is for Asia. The Emirates has advanced education and healthcare systems, andwomen are active in the business community. "This trip to the UAE was the most impressive business trip I've ever made," Cukierman says. "Not only for the magnitude of opportunity but also because we have much incommon in our culture, climate and regional geography." Israeli Lawmakers Look to Bring all Visiting Foreign Dignitaries onto Temple Mount - Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz - https://www.israel365news.com/159898/israeli-lawmakers-look-to-bring-all-visiting-foreign-dignitaries-onto-temple-mount/ "I will bring them to My sacred mount And let them rejoice in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices Shall be welcome on My mizbayach; For My House shall be called A house of prayer for all peoples." Isaiah 56:7 (The Israel BibleTM) For the first time, a lobbying group met in the Knesset to discuss the subject of the Temple Mount. The meeting came at a pivotal time, when the futureof the site expressed by Solomon and predicted by prophecy as a House of Prayer for all Nations stands in the balance, closer than ever to being established. TEMPLE MOUNT LOBBY MEETS IN KNESSET On Tuesday, a lobby for strengthening the status of the Temple Mount, led by MK Ariel Kellner and MK May Golan of the Likud, was launched in the Knesset. The incident involving the UAE delegation was raised at the beginning of the meeting by Dor Harlap, head of Hazon Leumi (national vision), an NGO focused on educating college students and youngsters. "We are in historical days," Harlap said. "Between the plague of the corona that affects the whole world and the Abraham Accords that establish peacebetween us, the State of Israel and the Arab states." "This week we watched as a delegation of tourists from the Gulf who sought to ascend and pray on the Temple Mount but were met with violence and insultsby the Waqf(Muslim authority) who feel like the masters of the Temple Mount. This reality is pushing us to exercise our sovereignty over the Temple Mount even by force." "Unfortunately the State of Israel tried to ignore the Temple Mount as the holiest place for us with sayings like 'What do I need this Vatican' byMoshe Dayan. Unfortunately, weaknesses in the exercise of sovereignty by the government and police lead us to a dynamic where we do not actually own the mountain. I call on all of us to continue to lead Restoring sovereignty to the State of Israel and leadingmoves to strengthen Jewish identity on the mountain. " A suggestion was raised that visiting dignitaries be offered the opportunity to visit the Temple Mount. The Israeli Foreign Ministry has a set agendafor visiting dignitaries that includes Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum. In 2015, Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely added the Western Wall. Ariel Kallner, head of the newly formed lobby, led the discussion. "The visits by foreign dignitaries to the Temple Mount is intended to open up the subject of the importance of the site as having civil importanceto Israel," Gabi Osherenko, a political adviser to Kallner said. "This will express a political statement to the visiting dignitaries. The Temple Mount has national and historical significance to Israel in addition to the obvious religious significance." "There are currently no concrete plans of action however the lobby was necessary to raise up the issue of the Temple Mount above the theoretical level. "On a religious level, opening up discussion about the Temple Mount is important to all religions. Currently, the situation is run by the Muslim Authorityand we have seen that they do not allow religious equality to be expressed. They even prevent religious freedom of their fellow Muslims." Former MK and Temple Mount Activist Rabbi Yehudah Glick said: "We see that we have achieved big and positive changes, including the outlawing of theMorabiton and the Morabitat by Gilad Ardan. But there is still a long way to go." The Morabiton and Morabitot are Muslims paid by the Waqf to harass non-Muslims who visit the Temple Mount. Their activities were ruled illegal by theIsraeli High Court. "It is unacceptable that a delegation from the United Arab Emirates is insulted on the Temple Mount," Rabbi Glick said to the gathering. "This situationmust pass from the world. We must demand that the relevant parties continue to act on the issue. " The head of the Shin Bet (internal security service) and former chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Avi Dichter, said: "We mustact on the Temple Mount not by the right of force but by the right of our rights to the site. We must not accept a situation in which the name of 'Al-Aqsa Mosque' is applied to the entire Temple Mount. The Muslims are turning the entire Temple Mount into al-Aqsa.On the other hand, it is unacceptable that the Jews visiting the Temple Mount should be called 'crazy.' It is unacceptable that the only Jewish symbol on the Temple Mount is a police station, and even that stands without the Israeli flag. It is incumbent uponus to relate to the Temple Mount as a holy place for Jews and to ensure that the Temple Mount remains in our hands." Dichter was, in fact, relating to a deceitful policy initiated by the Palestinians and perpetuated by the mainstream media which refers to the entireTemple Mount as Al-Aqsa which, until recently, referred to the silver-domed mosque at the southern end of the Temple Mount Compound. Dr. Mordechai Kedar, a senior lecturer in the Department of Arabic at Bar-Ilan University, explained that using the term 'AlAqsa' to refer to the entire Temple Mount is a recent phenomenon. "All throughout the Ottoman Empire and the Jordanian occupation of Jerusalem, Al Aqsa always and only referred to the grey domed mosque," Dr. Kedarexplained. "Cartography reflects politics. This is recorded on every map of the location ever made which identifies Al Aqsa as the mosque. The Temple Mount is labeled Mount Moriah because, before 1967, Jordan had no problem identifying the site with its Biblicalorigins." "This changed in 1967 when Rabbi Goren announced his intention to build a small synagogue in the northeast corner of the Temple Mount. The Waqf immediatelyobjected, claiming that this was part of Al Aqsa. This was to incite the entire Arab world against the Jews praying on the Temple Mount." "Jerusalem and the Temple Mount are at the epicenter of the Palestinian story," Dr. Kedar said. "Without Jerusalem and Al Aqsa, the Palestinian issuehas almost no meaning. It is like whiskers without a cat. This is why they keep repeating the allegation that the Jews have no connection to the Temple Mount or Jerusalem even though this flies in the face of all recorded history." UAE DELEGATION ABUSED ON THE TEMPLE MOUNT A delegation from the United Arab Emirates headed by Khadim Abdullah Al Dar'i, Vice Chairman and Founding Partner of Al-Dahra Agriculture, visitedIsrael last week. Al-Dahra Agriculture, a state-linked company that is a major exporter of animal feed and other essential food commodities, arrived in Israel at theinvitation of Netafim, a major Israeli irrigation technology firm. Netafim is expected to open a branch office in the UAE in cooperation with Al-Dahra. As part of their semi-official visit, on Thursday night the delegation consisting of nine men and one woman visited the Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount. While in the mosque, several Palestinians approached the delegation, insulting them with one Palestinian yelling, "Normalizers, rubbish," at the visiting dignitaries and another yelling for them to leave the site. One of the delegates tried to engage the Palestinians in dialogue who responded, "Emiratis are dogs...Get out!" PA DECRIES UAE DELEGATION'S VISIT Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh condemned the visit to Israel by the UAE delegates as a "free reward to the Israeli occupationto encourage it to confiscate more Palestinian land and build more settlements." Shtayyeh stated that the UAE delegates should have cleared the visit with the Palestinian "owners." "One ought to enter the gates of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by way of its owners, rather than through the gates of the occupation," Shtayyeh said ina statement on Monday. "It is sad to see some Arab delegations entering the compound through the Israeli gate, while worshippers are denied access to it to perform their prayers." Entrance to the site by Muslims has been limited as per pandemic restrictions. The Daily Sabah, a Turkish media, reported the event under the headline "Palestinians force UAE delegation to leave Al-Aqsa Mosque" which the newssource came in the wake of "Abu Dhabi's normalization deal with Tel Aviv, which is regarded by many as a betrayal of the Palestinians." This most recent incident comes after the Mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, issued a fatwa (religious proclamation) last month declaringthat Muslim citizens of the UAE will not be permitted to pray at al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Though the PA has an embassy in Abu Dhabi, the Palestinian foreign ministry recalled its ambassador in response to the Abraham Accords. UNIVERSAL PRAYER ON THE TEMPLE MOUNT: INTERNATIONAL LAW AND PROPHETIC VISION It should be emphasized that the right of the UAE delegation to pray at Al Aqsa was specifically declared in the US State Department's statement describingthe accords signed last month: "As set forth in the Vision for Peace, all Muslims who come in peace may visit and pray at the Al Aqsa Mosque, and Jerusalem's other holy sites shouldremain open for peaceful worshipers of all faiths." This multi-faith vision of the Temple Mount was also expressed in Trump's Middle East "Peace to Prosperity" plan which stated: "People of every faith should be permitted to pray on the Temple Mount/Haram al-Sharif, in a manner that is fully respectful to their religion, takinginto account the times of each religion's prayers and holidays, as well as other religious factors." Freedom of worship is also ensured by the United Nations' International standards on freedom of religion or belief which states in article 18 that"Everyone shall have the right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion. This right shall include freedom [...] either individually or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in worship, observance, practice, and teaching." In fact, when King Solomon dedicated the Temple, he specified that it should be a place of worship for foreigners. Oh, hear in Your heavenly abode and grant all that the foreigner asks You for. Thus all the peoples of the earth will know Your name and revere You,as does Your people Yisrael; and they will recognize that Your name is attached to this House that I have built. I Kings 8:43 This international nature of the site was prophesied to return in the Third Temple. I will bring them to My sacred mount And let them rejoice in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices Shall be welcome on My mizbayach; For My House shall be called A house of prayer for all peoples."
