Test for impeachment - Bill Wilson -
The Constitution states in Article II Section 4: The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors. Let us examine together the accusations leveled by President Donald Trump's former attorney and fixer Michael Cohen and determine with common sense if the building blocks of impeachment laid out in his testimony to the House Committee on Oversight and Reform meet the impeachment requirements. Granted "high Crimes and Misdemeanors" lends a fairly broad booth to land charges, but the context of Section 4 centers on "high" Crimes and Misdemeanors, not minor ones.
Cohen said: "I am ashamed because I know what Mr. Trump is. He is a racist. He is a conman. He is a cheat." These are opinions, not impeachable offenses. No doubt that many presidents, some of them beloved by their electorate, were racists, conmen and cheats. Cohen said Trump, "knew that Roger Stone was talking with Julian Assange about a WikiLeaks drop of Democratic National Committee emails." WikiLeaks did America a favor by showing the truth about the Democratic Party and its nefarious dealings, hypocrisy, and disdain for the people it says it represents. Knowing about it and being excited for its release is not an impeachable offense. Let us remember that the very same Democratic Party, its sitting president and its nominated candidate for president paid to fabricate a dossier to damage Trump. At least WikiLeaks was genuine and true.
Cohen said he was providing: "A copy of a check Mr. Trump wrote from his personal bank account - after he became president - to reimburse me for the hush money payments I made to cover up his affair with an adult film star and prevent damage to his campaign." That check could have been written for any of Cohen services. Federal prosecutors say this could be an impeachable offense because it might be considered an illegal contribution to benefit Trump's campaign. This is a stretch, but it could happen. Keep in mind, however, that it is not a crime to write personal checks to pay someone to keep silent who is not an employee of the government. Notwithstanding, this is the rack where the impeachment hat will be hung.
The other accusations in Cohen's testimony about a Trump hotel business deal (that didn't materialize) in Russia, Trump not wanting his grades and SAT scores revealed, his financial dealings, and his funneling money to have his portrait be the highest auction bid are very minor-especially compared with Hillary Clinton having a "pay for access" scheme to enrich the Clinton Foundation when she was Secretary of State. Bottom line: Trump is probably not the example of ethics and morals that best suit the office he holds, but these themes being used to remove him from office reveal that his accusers are far less examples of the same. As Christ said in Mark 7:6, "Well has Isaiah prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me." Hypocrisy abounds hiding the cocoon of truth.

There is a new communistic party arising out of the Democratic Party under the guise of Democratic Socialists. Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) is the current leading contender for the Democratic Party presidential nomination. He is a communist disguised as something more acceptable to Americans-a progressive or a Democratic Socialist. He is joined by a younger member of his political persuasion, who is also making national headlines, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). Joining them are Democratic Presidential hopefuls Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), who lied about having Native American heritage, and Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA)-all communists disguised as Democrats.
This Democratic Party shift from being the moderate to liberal party in America to outright socialist and communist is the Hegelian Dialectic at its best. The Dialectic is how communists move masses of people toward their brand of politics. It relies on creating a mental conflict of an antithesis to the current thesis and then moving masses of people to a new synthesis. The current thesis (though it is changing) is a Republic built on capitalism. The antithesis is a communistic utopia of "green" programs redistributing wealth so everyone has free everything provided by the government. The synthesis is designed to move Americans toward a communistic system, where government replaces God.
Sanders, Ocasio-Cortez, Warren, Harris and even the immediate past president and Hillary Clinton all have been moving the Democratic Party toward communism for years. It is shocking that these people are essentially "coming out" with their communistic programs to the public in the belief that a large percentage of Americans are in support. The idea is to get the majority believing that the government can provide such services, that it is the moral thing to do, and that America, with all its wealth, can become the greatest communistic (call it what you want-progressive, socialist, green, etc.) experiment in history. But what lies beneath the propaganda is death, poverty, and destruction-ask people in Argentina, Cuba, Nicaragua, China, many Islamic nations. They have misery in common whilst dictators enrich themselves.
The Communist Manifesto says, "But communism abolishes eternal truths, it abolishes all religion, and all morality, instead of constituting them on a new basis; it therefore acts in contradiction to all past historical experience." Other linchpins of communism are enumerated in the Manifesto: 1) Abolition of property ownership, 2) a heavy progressive income tax, 3) abolition of all rights of inheritance, 4) confiscation of property, 5) centralization of credit, 6) centralization of transportation, 7) centrally planned economy, 8) obligation to work, 9) abolishing distinction between towns and country, and 10) a free education for children. Exodus 20:3 says, "Thou shalt have no other god's before me." When government replaces God, bad things happen. Beware of the New Communist Party disguised as the Old Democratic Party.

The newly-elected Democratic Party controlled House of Representatives is rolling out their first public testimony with the ostensible intent to reveal the "truth" about President Donald Trump. Everyone knows that the goal, however, is to remove the President, as has been the Party's intent since before he was sworn into office. Giving it their best shot, Trump's former lawyer and "fixer" Michael Cohen is taking the stand before the Committee on Oversight and Reform. His prepared testimony has been released to the public. It reads like a Democratic campaign commercial, attacking Trump with perceptions, hearsay, and the revelation of no new details, but repackaging them for greater impact.
Cohen begins his prepared testimony by stating: "I am ashamed that I chose to take part in concealing Mr. Trump's illicit acts rather than listening to my own conscience. I am ashamed because I know what Mr. Trump is. He is a racist. He is a conman. He is a cheat. He was a presidential candidate who knew that Roger Stone was talking with Julian Assange about a WikiLeaks drop of Democratic National Committee emails. I will explain each in a few moments. I am providing the Committee today with several documents. These include: A copy of a check Mr. Trump wrote from his personal bank account - after he became president - to reimburse me for the hush money payments I made to cover up his affair with an adult film star and prevent damage to his campaign;
"Copies of financial statements for 2011 - 2013 that he gave to such institutions as Deutsche Bank; A copy of an article with Mr. Trump's handwriting on it that reported on the auction of a portrait of himself - he arranged for the bidder ahead of time and then reimbursed the bidder from the account of his non-profit charitable foundation, with the picture now hanging in one of his country clubs; and Copies of letters I wrote at Mr. Trump's direction that threatened his high school, colleges, and the College Board not to release his grades or SAT scores. I hope my appearance here today, my guilty plea, and my work with law enforcement agencies are steps along a path of redemption that will restore faith in me and help this country understand our president better." Cohen goes on to give an "insiders' view of the details of each of the topics he lays out.
Certainly, the next few days of testimony and questioning will focus on all the things that the Democrats believe Trump did that were unethical or what they believe to be illegal. It will be amplified by the news media. Amidst all the grandstanding, there may be some truth. If what Cohen says is even partially true, it is damaging to Trump, but it is not anything we already didn't know. Underlying this circus show is the very fact that Trump was not the choice of the Democrats or the establishment Republicans, and they are using every means to remove him from office. Beware of what you read and hear for as written in Isaiah 59:14, "justice is turned back, and righteousness stands afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter." A little bit of truth makes a better lie and deception from an evil word tips the scales of justice.
Deeper State of Depravity - Terry James -
It is not the Deep State of governmental cabals I wish to examine here. It is the deeper state of depravity into which America has entered that demands to be addressed.
That being said, the former matter, like the latter, is part of the same depraved nature of man. It is rebellion against the Creator that is moving the nation and world ever downward toward the abyss where sin will be incarcerated for all eternity.
We witness daily all the madness and say with a shake of the head: "It's just insanity."
We have seen it in the political realm. The party of the ideological left continues to seemingly self-destruct. They do things that make no sense from the perspective of what under the norms of times just past would seem rational. For example, New York City leaders, desperately in need of revenue to fund their "progressive" giveaways, let a 29-year-old, first-term congresswoman-who most often speaks like a teenager-cause $27 billion in taxes from Amazon to be lost. The company instead moved to another state. The neophyte politician, who has an economics degree from Boston University or one of those schools, thought the city was going to give $3 billion to the company to come to the city.
But that wasn't the case. The company would have paid $30 billion annually to the city, with the city government agreeing to give the company a $3 billion tax break, meaning they would pay $27 billion.
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez convinced her constituency and hundreds of thousands of other "progressives" that they didn't want their city paying $3 billion to Amazon, because one of their key hatreds in their ideology is hatred for the rich. Donald Trump, after all, is a billionaire...
This hatred could not be contained, even though Amazon leadership is totally left on the ideological spectrum in every sense of the anti-Trump political war.
In addition to the lost $27 billion in tax revenue annually, New York City lost what would have amounted to 25,000 jobs. The top officials in Ms. Cortez's party hierarchy aren't happy about this matter.
So, as we say here in the South, they cut off their noses to spite their faces.
It shows the growing spiritual dementia, I think. It is an ever-deeper state of depravity into which this generation is descending.
Other symptoms of this dementia-malady can be seen in the same political party in which Ms. Cortez is considered the up-and-coming darling. For example, more than 70 percent of all Americans, which includes those strongly in favor of abortion, say they are against after-birth infanticide. And, infanticide is exactly what a growing number of progressively run states are proposing following in the footsteps of New York City's decision to let just-born infants die if they were intended for abortion but continue to live after the birth. Despite this large percentage against such horrendous action, the Democrat Party continues to expand the attempted legalization of this infanticide. Other states continue to attempt to pass laws allowing this satanic practice.

The genuine madness continues to rage. The Apostle Paul's spiritual truth as given in Romans chapter 1 is coming to pass every day before our eyes and ears. Turning from God leads to reprobate (upside-down and evil) thinking and action. A stunning example of this is manifest in a recent news story.
A group of grandmothers in Maine is causing quite a stir for a little group they've formed "GRR!" which advocates for their children and grandchildren to have the right to abort any further progeny
According to LifeNews.com, GRR!, or "Grandmothers for Reproductive Rights," seeks to "educate women at the local level about the pro-abortion agenda, and encourage women to speak with their local government officials about supporting abortion and other reproductive health issues."
About 40 grandmothers participate in GRR!, according to a report. ("Pro-Abort Grandmas in Maine Form Group to Promote Aborting Grandkids," By ISRAEL WIRE, Rapture Ready News Feb 16, 2019)
Just the acronym for the "grandmas" organization alone should clue us. "GRR!" They are obviously angry at someone or something. Paul indicated the anger of this rebellious generation at the end of the age would be directed toward the Creator of all things. This prophecy has proven true. It seems that more than half of the U.S. is growling forth their hatred like an angry bear just out of hibernation.
We recall one of Paul's key "perilous times" prophecies in 2 Timothy, chapter 3. He foretold that people will be without "natural affection." For those grandmas and grandpas reading this, does this make a profound statement as you think of your love for your grandkids?
America and the world are moving swiftly down the road of Sodom and Gomorrah-like depravity. When the Church and the restraining power residing within Christ's Body goes to the Lord Jesus when He calls, that movement will become an instant free-fall into the Tribulation abyss.
Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
National emergencies and tyranny - Bill Wilson -
Democratic Party leftist primary presidential candidates Julian Castro (former HUD Secretary under the previous president), and Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) both would call national emergencies over climate change and gun violence if elected. Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) also said that gun violence was a national emergency. Senator Corey Booker (D-NJ) indicated he would consider declaring a national emergency on gun violence if elected. Democrats see the national emergency declared by President Donald Trump to protect national security by building a wall on the nation's border with Mexico as a precedent to banning guns, taxing for climate change and student debt.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) warned on February 14 that a president using the National Emergencies Act for such things as building a border wall would be a forerunner for a Democratic president to use the act for political reasons. Pelosi said, "You want to talk about a national emergency? Let's talk about today, the one year anniversary of another manifestation of the epidemic of gun violence in America. That's a national emergency...A Democratic president can declare emergencies as well. So, the precedent that the President is setting here is something that should be met with great unease and dismay by the Republicans."
Castro told MSNBC's "Hardball" on Monday that he wouldn't hesitate to declare a national emergency on gun violence and climate change. Castro said, "If I take office on January 20, 2021, that I will come into office with a strong belief that climate change is a national emergency, that the fact that so many people in this country die because of gun violence, that is a national emergency." The intent of the National Emergencies Act is to allow a president to call a national emergency when the nation's security is in jeopardy. It has checks and balances in it for Congress to act. The language of the Act, however, is ambiguous enough that these communists in the Democratic Party could well make the case for confiscating guns or outrageous taxes for the unproven and fraudulent concept of "climate change."
The idea that our national security is compromised by gun violence is a stretch. The ownership of guns as guaranteed by the 2ndAmendment is protection against the very thing these leftists want to do-take over the government, or as Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) says, "complete that (political) revolution," meaning wealth redistribution by an iron-fisted dictator. Do not be lulled into thinking these people's esoteric ideas are grand because they also have one thing in common-they disdain true Christianity. Given the option of national emergencies, religious freedom would be among the first to go as it is the biggest threat to communism's tyranny. Every socialist and communist nation shuts down religious free speech. As Christ said in John 8:32 of those who are his disciples, "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Romans 13:1-3 says, "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resists the power, resists the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Will you then not be afraid of the power? Do that which is good, and you shall have praise of the same." This is an interesting passage because it has been open to interpretation in many ways. Facing unjust leaders who were repressing the apostles from religious free speech in Acts 5:29, Peter and the other apostles said, "We ought to obey God rather than men." So what gives?
We must obey God over men. We also must understand that government is necessary to protect people from evil. In America, we give up a little liberty for this protection. George Washington explained in his 1796 farewell speech that respect for authority and compliance with its laws are enjoined by the fundamental maxims of true liberty. He said, "The very idea of the power and the right of the people to establish government presupposed the duty of every individual to obey the established government." He said, "All obstructions to the execution of the laws, all combinations and associations, under whatever plausible character, with the real design to direct, control, counteract, or awe the regular deliberation and action of the constituted authorities, are destructive of this fundamental principle, and of fatal tendency."
He said these obstructions "serve to organize faction, to give it an artificial and extraordinary force; to put, in the place of the delegated will of the nation the will of a party, often a small but artful and enterprising minority of the community; and, according to the alternate triumphs of different parties, to make the public administration the mirror of the ill-concerted and incongruous projects of faction, rather than the organ of consistent and wholesome plans digested by common counsels and modified by mutual interests." Let's fast forward to today's Congress where the Democrats are trying to force socialist measures on Republicans, and are trying to silence moderate Democrats who oppose this extreme socialism.
Politico reports that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) held a meeting with House Democrats to not allow Republicans to use procedural votes to water down or hinder the progressive (interpret: communist) agenda. It appears that moderate Democrats have voted with Republicans to add common sense provisions to a gun control bill and an anti-Semitism bill. Politico says Pelosi, echoing her communist comrade Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), told reporters that she thinks Democrats should simply vote against the GOP motions, saying to do so otherwise gives Republicans "leverage." In a time where America faces tremendous challenges, this is an example of obstructionism and how faction is so destructive to liberty. They are doing exactly what Washington warned against. They are like the Sadducees in Acts. Who do we obey?
