TRUMP WATCH: 8.22.20 - Reconciling the irreconcilable/FACT CHECKING THE DEM CONVENTION

Reconciling the irreconcilable - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden has said and done some racist things in the not so distant past, and his now running mate, Senator KamalaHarris (D-CA) was a most critical opponent-before she was chosen as Biden's Vice Presidential candidate. Now, she is saying that she didn't mean her racist claims about Biden. That it was just politics. We have to ask ourselves if that's how Democratic Partypoliticians view the issues they are promoting-just the game of politics. They are stirring up violence in the streets, demanding the defunding of law enforcement, allowing lawlessness to prevail over racial divisions and now their top candidate is sayingher racial accusations were just "politics." What gives? This was Harris during the July 31, 2019 Democratic Presidential debate: "When Vice President Biden was in the United States Senate working with segregationiststo oppose busing, which was the vehicle by which we would integrate America's public schools, had I been in the United States Senate at that time I would have been on the other side of the aisle." Harris was relentless pointing out ,"It was not only that, but you also worked with them to oppose busing...There was a little girl in California who was part of the second class to integrate her public schools and she was bussed to school every day. That little girl was me. So I will tell you that on this subject,it cannot be an intellectual debate. ...We have to take it seriously. Fast forward to August 16th on the CBS Late Show. Stephen Colbert asked Harris how she went from being a passionate opponent to becoming pals? Shelaughed off the question, saying it was a debate. Colbert replied, "So, you don't mean it?" Harris responded, "It was a debate. The whole evening, literally, it was a debate. It was called a debate. There were journalists covering the debate..." Harris's accusationsa year ago that Biden supported racism and worked in the Senate to continue the Jim Crow segregation laws against black Americans are extraordinarily serious, yet today she passes these off as just "a debate." How can any of us believe that either Biden orHarris are serious about ending racism and are only pandering for votes? I'm pretty sure the victims of the riots and looters in Portland, Seattle, Chicago and other places across the country don't think this is just "adebate." This is not just a game. Or is it? Are candidates for office sincere about their beliefs or are they just telling you what you want to hear? Proverbs 6:16-19 states, "These six things does the Lord hate; yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proudlook, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaks lies, and he that sows discord among brethren." Is it any surprise that Harris can laughoff Biden's racist actions as just "a debate," something only a year ago she said could not be part of an "intellectual debate," but had to be taken seriously based on principle? Couldn't watch it - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com 'Couldn't bring myself to watch the virtual Democratic National Party convention last night. 'Won't watch it again tonight. I knew already what itwas about: negativity and insults. The former first lady takes the camera and repeats her same old hypocritical mantra from the last campaign: "Going high is the only thing that works. Because when we go low, when we use those same tactics of degrading anddehumanizing others, we just become part of the ugly noise that's drowning out everything else." Then she blistered the current president and Americans using examples we have seen from her own party's actions. Does she think no one sees that she is claimingthe high ground, but is dehumanizing others in the process? Deadline.com pretty much summed up the evening: With a constant chorus decrying Donald Trump's corruption and incompetence in this era of racial divide, the fatal coronavirus crisis, and consequential economic collapse, the Biden team put their focus grouped playbook into practice tonight... If there was one noticeably out of tune note tonight, it was from Biden himself. In a moment seemingly directed to Trump'shardcore base, who will never vote for him anyway, the ex-Veep took a middle ground on police brutality and systemic racism that many of his own supporters and many Americans have abandoned in recent months." The one thing that stands out is how the democrats are attacking the President for the economy. Michele O said that the economy is in a shambles becauseof the poor handling of COVID 19. In reality, the President handled/is handling the COVID 19 crisis without the help of all those "smart" democrats that bring all the criticism, but absolutely no solutions. And every time the President wants to open up thecountry for business, it is democrat congressmen, governors, and mayors who fight any kind of reopening. My sources say that these democrats are intentionally trying to hold the economy down until after the election because they think Americans will vote Trumpout of office if the economy is bad enough. What I see in the Democratic Convention reports is just a continuation of the badmouthing that we have seen since before Trump took office. They justrun people down and present no viable solutions. Sad that they cannot look at America, the challenges, and be professional about offering alternatives. A whole lot of negative rhetoric going on. This is their idea of taking the high road because those Republicanswill take the low road. They accuse others of what they themselves do. As Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 1:9, "That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun." Fact checking the Dem convention - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com A fact check on some major claims by democrats at the Democratic National Convention reveals that they have a warped, nonfactual, and inaccurate worldviewon many things, and they are trying to use fear to garner votes. Nothing new. Your healthcare will be taken away if President Trump is reelected. Tax cuts only benefit the rich. Trump has disgraced the presidency. And just as a touch of the super hero syndrome, did you know that the previous Democratic administration actually eliminated the threat of a nuclear Iran and destroyed ISIS? If the convention had been filled with Pinocchios, it would take years to untangle the extended noses from the lies. Just saying. Former President Bill Clinton was a featured speaker, in the wake of the release of court documents alleging he was on Jeffrey Epstein's private island, where the sex offender is accused of traffickingunderage girls. Also, on Tuesday night, pictures surfaced of one of Epstein's alleged sex trafficking victims giving Clinton a neck massage during a stop in Africa on which Clinton traveled the infamous "Lolita Express." Clinton claimed Trump is disgracingthe office because "At a time like this, the Oval Office should be a command center. Instead, it's a storm center. There's only chaos. Just one thing never changes, his determination to deny responsibility and shift the blame." Accusing Trump of doing exactlywhat Clinton did. Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden claimed, without evidence, that Republicans voted to "gut" protections for patients with pre-existing conditions. As Breitbart reports: "Verdict: False. Republicanlegislation to replace Obamacare would not have "gutted" or eliminated pre-existing conditions." Biden claimed that "Trump was trying to rip away your coverage, the day you got your first chemo, Republicans voted to gut the ACA." The fact is neither Trumpnor congressional Republicans supported legislation that would remove the Affordable Care Act (ACA) protections for patients with pre-existing conditions. Trump introduced replacing socialist healthcare by saying the goal was to "ensure that Americans withpre-existing conditions have access to coverage." Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-PA) claimed that Trump's Tax Cuts and Jobs Act only benefitted the rich. In reality, over 80 percent of families with children received a tax cut, and the child tax credit wasdoubled. Former Secretary of State John Kerry claimed that Obama-Biden "eliminated the threat of an Iran with a nuclear weapon." This is a lie. Under the Iran nuclear deal, sanctions against Iran were dropped and Iran was sent billions in cash and assets inreturn for a temporary slowdown in Iran's nuclear weapons development. Kerry also falsely claimed that Obama-Biden eliminated ISIS when, in fact, ISIS gained a stronger foothold when Obama left Iraq. As in Jeremiah 9:5, "And they will deceive every one hisneighbor, and will not speak the truth; they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity." Christ or politics? - Bill Wilson- www.dailyjot.com There are so many people who have written and said they cannot stomach the way the National Democratic Convention speakers are portraying America. It seems, they say, thatevery darkness is being spoken of as something that is good; that everything they say their opponent is doing, they themselves have done or are doing. They say there is no one amng them that takes any responsibility for the chaos, disruption and obstructionthat has occurred over the past four years by Democratic leadership, yet is all blamed on the President and those who voted for him. After three nights, there is still no presentation of a vision for the future, except an angry America saying everyone's rightsare violated. In this post-truth world whee facts, truth, justice, injustice are all manipulated through sinister people with dark agendas and amplified without vetting across socialmedia and mass media, there is something to think about: What defines you? Are you defined by an issue, such as abortion, traditional marriage, social justice, or economics? Are you defined by political parties? Whatever defines you is where your influencewill be. If you are defined by politics, your passion will be imbedded in the political issues and candidates. In these days, if you are over-focused on politics and the news cycle, you likely may be defined by some notion of politics which will result ina whole lot of anxiety and not much satisfaction. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." Verse 20 says, "Now thenwe are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead be you reconciled to God." Ephesians 4:22-24 says, "That you put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitfullusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that you put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness." When yu are baptized in Christ, you are a new person, reconciled to God himself. Then are you not to be definedin Christ? If you look in the mirror and see a person defined in Christ, your influence will reflect that definition. Herein is where much of the "Church" has gotten off track. Itis not about the issues or self-improvement or the politics, it is about our mission as Christians. As Romans 12:21 says, "Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good." Christ gave us the Great Commission to make disciples, which we haven't seen muchof during the DNC convention. Part of the reason we are observing all the deceiving, accusing, and labeling, may be because we as Christians have not understood what defines us, and our influence has been thereby misplaced. Otherwise the politics wouldn'tinfluence the Christian, rather the Christian would influence the politics. Think about it.
