According to numerous media reports, an outline of the Biden plan has been prepared by Hady Amr, the deputy assistant secretary for Israeli and Palestinian Affairs. Amrworked on the same issues during the Obama administration. So, it's hardly surprising that the plan he has drafted reflects the same positions that were taken when Barack Obama was president and Joe Biden was vice president. The central theme of Biden's Israeli-Palestinian policy in the short term, according to the Amr memo, will be a series of rewards to be given to the Palestinian Authority,even though the P.A. has done absolutely nothing to merit any of them. Despite the P.A.'s financial support for terrorists, harboring of fugitive terrorists, constant anti-Jewish incitement and unrelenting anti-American propaganda, the Bidenadministration intends to "reset the U.S. relationship with the Palestinian people and leadership" by: - Sending the P.A. at least $15 million monthly ($180 million annually) as "humanitarian assistance," starting in "late March or early April." - Soon expanding that P.A. aid package to include "a full range of economic, security and humanitarian assistance," including funds for the corrupt, pro-terrorist UNRWAagency. By "security" aid, Amr undoubtedly means the pro-terrorist, de facto army that the P.A. calls its "security services." - Resuming diplomatic contacts with P.A. officials by reopening the PLO embassy in Washington, D.C., and using the old (but still functioning) American consulate in Jerusalemas a de facto embassy to the Palestinians. - Inviting the United Nations and the Quartet, both of which are militantly pro-Palestinian, to "engage" in the diplomatic process. - Resuming "country of origin labeling," which means declaring that goods made in much of Jerusalem, as well as Judea, Samaria and the Golan Heights, will be forced to carry"Made in Palestine" labels since the Biden administration has decided that all those areas belong to the Palestinian Arabs. In return, the Biden administration intends to make two laughably inadequate "demands" of the P.A. First, it will seek "to obtain a Palestinian commitment" to stop payingterrorists, which will probably be as genuine and durable as all the previous P.A. commitments to stop aiding terrorists. Second, Biden will "emphasize to the P.A." the need for "reductions of arrests of bloggers and dissidents." What a joke! The P.A. won't even be expected to stop arrestingdissidents; it just has to arrest a few less. What's most important, however, is the end goal of the Biden plan. Amr's draft says that all of the above steps are "a means to advance the prospects of a negotiated two-statesolution ... based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed land swaps." In plain English, that means a sovereign "State of Palestine" in all, or nearly all, of Judea and Samaria, and the Gaza Strip (and part of Jerusalem). The "land swaps" phrasecan be disregarded. It's nonsense; obviously, if Israel and the P.A. ever wanted to "swap land"--which they don't--they don't need a plan by U.S. President Joe Biden to do it. The plan is, put simply, the "Nine-Miles Wide Plan." It has to be. Because any Palestinian state has to include the third-largest P.A. city, Tulkarm, and the fifth-largestP.A. city, Qalqilya. The P.A. is not going to make those cities part of Israel. So, they will be part of "Palestine." Tulkarm and Qalqilya are nine miles from the Mediterranean Sea. Israel won't even be as wide as Washington, D.C.--or the Bronx, N.Y. One terrifying anecdote from 1967 tells you all you need to know about the dangers of Biden's "Nine-Miles Wide Plan." Any diseases that are in there, it�s being kept in there, like a petri dish. The smell is overwhelming�One or two agents are left to control 300 to 500 people during a shift. No agent wants to report physical or sexual assaults between the aliensbecause they�ll get blamed for �letting it happen.� Biden has undermined the national security and general welfare of this nation. I can tell you right now that the way Biden is hiding from the public is a MAJOR red flag. Something's not right!" What Jackson, a member of Congress from Texas, is saying is serious. This is the United States of America, not some banana republic. This is no time for a secret palace guard. We were humiliated last week in Alaska, on our soil, when Biden administration diplomats met with a top Chinese delegation. There was no one in leadership available to size up the situation and send them home packing with a firm rebuke from the commander inchief. Events are spiraling out of control. No one can pretend they don't see it. The president has cognitive shortcomings. Have we seen another president who is confused about who actually commands the post? Is it Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris, whom he has referred to several times as "President Harris." The fall outside Air Force One was unlike the late President Gerald Ford's comic stumble a generation ago. No one doubted Ford was prepared to execute the oath of the most important office in the world. There was no comparison to President Donald J. Come on," Biden said last September. One the other hand, there was nothing funny about Joe Biden's fall "up" the steps to Air Force One. It made us wince. It's time to stop pretending that everything is all right with Joe Biden. Everything is not all right. He's 78 now � older than any other president. As Dr. Jackson has said, candidly, "Something's not right!" What's happening is very wrong. And it's not Joe Biden's fault alone. Who choreographed the 2020 campaign of secrecy? Who kept Biden stashed away, in hiding, for weeks at time � every word utteredput in his mouth through a teleprompter. Still he had problems, lost his place, couldn't tell where he was. White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield wrote on Twitter after the stiarway incident, saying Biden "is fine," addingthat the fall was "nothing more than a misstep on the stairs." One the contrary, it was one of the worst falls I've ever seen a president suffer. It was more than one misstep on the stairs. It was a series of missteps. The president can be seen holding the railing, but doesn't seem to be in control of his feet as he stumbles and is then unable to recover his balance. Jackson, who said in February 2020 that Biden "might need" to endure cognitive testing, was the White House physician from 2013-2018 under both President Obama and President Trump. Worst of all, Biden is surrounded by crises right now, crises of his own making. The biggest one is at the border, where the president has been told he has no obligation to follow the law of the land. Unfortunately, there's no good outcome from this mess. Half the country doesn't think Harris is up to the job, that she is unprepared, is unstable herself and way too radical by nature. That's what the Democrats were obviously counting upon. The Executive Order imposed a series of sanctions against Iran in response to its support for international terrorism, its efforts to undermine the Middle East peace processbetween Israel and the Palestinians, and its acquisition of nuclear weapons. Last week, the White House announced that the "national emergency" must continue beyond March 15, 2021. It quoted President Joe Biden as saying that Iran's actions continueto pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the US. Iran, he added, continues to develop missiles and other asymmetric and conventional weapons capabilities. He also accused Iran of continuing to support terrorist groups throughout the world. The U.S. president pointed out that Iran is continuing the "proliferation and development of missiles and other asymmetric and conventional weapons capabilities, its networkand campaign of regional aggression, its support for terrorist groups, and the malign activities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its surrogates." President Biden's decision to pursue the sanctions against Iran, however, has failed to reduce the fears of many Arabs. They say that they remain skeptical about Washington'spolicy toward the threats posed by the mullahs in Tehran. "President Biden should not tolerate Iran," warned Saudi newspaper editor and writer Khaled bin Hamad al-Malek. "He [Biden] should not make any concessions [to Iran] that do not serve stability in the region. Iran will continue with its tricks and deception to avoid sanctions andattempts to stop it from possessing a nuclear bomb that would pose a danger to countries in the region." Addressing the Biden administration, al-Malek wrote: "Iran is an evil, terrorist, and rogue state, and it does not abide by what is agreed upon with it. Iran plants its proxies in most countries of the region to create chaosand consolidate its agenda and expansionist goals. There is no better option than using force with this terrorist state to force it to respect international conventions and obligating it not to harm its neighbors, which is what we expect from the Biden administrationin order to maintain the security and stability of the region." Emirati political analyst and academic Dr. Salem Hameed warned the Biden administration against allowing itself to be deceived by the mullahs in Tehran. Hameed expressed fear that the Biden administration would return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), known commonly as the Iran nuclear deal, which was signedin 2015 only by the five permanent members of the United nations Security Council � China, Russia, Britain, France, the US � plus Germany and the European Union. The Iranians never signed the JCPOA deal. "The current Iranian ploy aims to delude the American side into believing that Tehran wants to return to the agreement, but it cannot make concessions due to street pressure,so it needs Washington to drop the sanctions before starting any negotiations," according to Hameed. Referring to the countries that signed the deal, Hameed added: "Perhaps these countries, in order not to plunge the region into chaos, should develop continuous, unchanging strategies, because countries such as Iran take advantage ofthe pre- and post-election transitional state to rearrange their plans. With regards to Iran, it wants to pursue its goal of achieving nuclear weapons that threaten the region and the world." Prominent Saudi writer Mohamed al-Sheikh said he was doubtful whether Iran would change its policies now that Biden is in the White House. "Iran's mullahs are like dangerous poisonous snakes," al-Sheikh cautioned. "The mullahs cannot be tamed unless their fangs are completely pulled out. President Biden doesnot seem to be aware of how dangerous they are." Al-Sheikh said that the Biden administration was hoping that by turning a blind eye to the crimes and human rights violations of the mullahs, Washington would "win the mullahsinto the US camp." The Biden administration, "especially the left-wing of the Democratic Party, still hope to win the mullahs into their camp and pull them out of the Chinese-Russian camp,"he remarked. "The mullahs of Iran are still dreaming of establishing the Great Persian Empire, and for the sake of this goal they are not averse to harnessing all efforts and funds toreach this goal, even if they are forced to be patient." Al-Sheikh added that he still could not understand why the Democrats were rushing to appease Iran while sacrificing Washington's historic allies such as Israel and the Gulfstates, including Saudi Arabia. Former Egyptian diplomat Amr Helmy lashed out at the Biden administration for "dropping" most of the 12 conditions that the Trump administration had set for returning tothe nuclear agreement with Iran. The conditions, announced in May 2020 by then US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, require Iran, among other things, to stop enrichment and never pursue plutonium reprocessing,provide the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) with unqualified access to all its sites, end its proliferation of ballistic missiles, halt support to Middle East terrorist groups and end its threatening behavior against its neighbors. Helmy argued that by abandoning these conditions the Biden administration was sending the wrong message to Iran: "Iran has stepped up its pressure to exploit the US eagerness to resume negotiations with it over its nuclear program... The message Iran has received: the Biden administrationis focused on reviving the policy applied by [former US President Barack] Obama and is backing down from the [policies] of the Trump administration." Iran, Helmy added, "will not stop the escalation in the region now that it understands that the new US administration will not hesitate to continue weakening Washington'sallies and prioritize the most dangerous adversaries who may not return to the negotiating table unless the US sanctions [on Iran] are lifted." Egyptian political analyst Dr. Tarek Fahmi said that Iran continues to pose a threat to the entire region, and not only Israel. Fahmi urged the Biden administration to reviewits policies and not rush into entering negotiations with Iran. "Iran continues to threaten the security of the entire region, and not a specific country; this requires the US administration to re-examine its positions and not rush toenter into negotiations with Iran," Fahmi wrote in an article headlined, "The wrong path of Biden's policy toward Iran." He said that Iran will continue its maneuvers to obtain concessions from the Biden administration. "US begging for negotiations [with Iran] will lead to more Iranian intransigence and promote its extremism," Fahmi said. He warned that the US would be the "biggest loser"if Iran is allowed to continue with its maneuvers and threats against the security of the region. "Despite all the negative positions of Iran, the US administration is still ready to re-engage in serious diplomacy to achieve a mutual return to compliance with the commitmentsof the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action," he added. These voices from the Arab world are unmistakably articulating a growing fear over the Biden administration's perceived weakness in dealing with the Iranian threat. Significantly,such voices seem to be shared by a large number of Arabs in different Arab countries -- not only the Gulf states.
