President Obama's recent speech on how to defeat the terrorist group ISIS - as America faces the greatest threat in its history - represented "one small step for man" but no "giant leap for mankind" in attacking the source of the problem.
Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey were on the hot seat defending Obama's ISIS game plan at a Sept. 16 hearing in the Senate. Their testimony suggested a disconnect between the White House and the Pentagon on the need for ground troops, the former having said no and the latter now saying maybe.
ISIS' destruction may be Obama's goal, but he still lacks a strategy. The Senate testimony did nothing to suggest otherwise.
Imagine if BP had focused only on the cleanup and not on the source of the leak after the 2010 oil spill in the Gulf. BP would still be cleaning up the environmental mess today.
Similarly, as ISIS takes a human toll in the Middle East, its destruction fails to focus on the source.
Listing ISIS' barbaric acts - torture, rape, beheadings, etc. - Obama said the terrorist group is misguided and does not represent Islam.
But by seeking to detach ISIS from Islam, it is Obama who is misguided. Every barbaric act he mentioned is sanctioned by Islam and, in fact, has been committed by Muslims during their 1400-year history.
Ironically, while Muhammad's violence targets Jews, Christians and other non-Muslims, Muslims have claimed most of their victims through "cannibalization." They've been "eating their own," with Muslim sects relegating other Muslim sects to non-Muslim status.
Obama fails to understand that a Muslim world united under a single global caliphate, whether it be ISIS, Al Qaeda, Iran, etc., will fully project its violence against the Koran's intended targets - non-Muslims - doing so not as a detached religion, but as Islam itself dictates.
The violence encountered by the West so far is but the tip of an Islamic iceberg. By failing to recognize this, we become passengers on an ill-fated Titanic, with Obama at the helm, refusing to warn us. Politically correct, as always, he misrepresents Islam and leaves us apathetic and in the dark, blind to Muslims' plan to destroy Western democracies.
Violence against non-Muslims, mandated by the Koran, is perpetual - or until the caliphate's establishment. A newly independent America quickly discovered this when it fought an unprovoked war with Islam's Barbary pirates, who justified their violence under the Koran.
In modern times, we open our doors to Islam, failing to understand that it is an ideology still dedicated to America's destruction. We naively do so because Muslims, as well as Obama, claim Islam is a religion of peace.
If we open our doors to Islam and allow its influence to grow, its dark side will be revealed; but, meanwhile, those trying to sound the ship's alarm are labeled as Islamophobes.
We have ignored many warning signs of Islam's evil intent to destroy the West "from within," which was the Muslim Brotherhood's strategy over two decades ago:
* In the Netherlands, Geert Wilders repeatedly tries to educate us about Islam's dark side - and his government calls him Islamophobic.
* In England, Brits watch Shariah evolve in parallel with their own legal system. They are only now awakening to the danger, and it may be too late to reverse it.
* In France, Muslims, using an undercurrent of anti-Semitism, encourage others to join them, successfully driving out Jews. Soon the Muslim focus will turn to the others, as well.
* In Germany, concerns arise about Shariah law encroachment, triggering a major confrontation yet to play out.
In a television interview last month, Anjem Choudary, a British-born convert to Islam who became an imam, gloated over the inroads Islam has made in England - and even supported ISIS' brutality. Ironically, he spreads hate in Britain while he collects $43,000 in welfare - brazenly accepting it as England's recognition of Islam's superiority.
Choudary warns that Shariah is coming to America - a door now ajar.
Within Western democracies today, it is not ISIS that is the immediate threat. It is Islam's dark side.
While naiveté opened doors for Islam's Dr. Jekyll, the West now suffers the homicidal mania of Islam's Mr. Hyde. Obama's speech offers nothing to stop him.

If you are new to this blog, then you've probably surmised that I look through the lens of a Biblical worldview. I try to see "the bigger picture" via God's plan for the world, instead of the immediate political and social implications. With that caveat, I am hesitant to jump into the dialogue on the turn we've taken towards the "war" with ISIS, and the recent airstrikes on Syria -- primarily, because I am no expert on Middle Eastern affairs and am speaking purely from a spiritual outlook; and a veiled one, at that. Then there is my opinion that more will "develop" in the coming days that just might change the entire narrative.
To begin with, I find it difficult to figure out the true significance of all our foreign policy moves, and how that might relate to what God has in store for the world. All the key players in this drama are part of the End Times prophecies in the Bible, so it's hard not to look for a broader perspective than media sound bites might reveal. The back-and-forth on our relationships with these countries can leave your head spinning; especially when one week, the major news item is that we are "not at war" with ISIS, and the next week, we are. But I believe that ISIS may only be a tool to bring about one of the biggest End-Times participants .... Iran (Persia in the Bible).
Think about it ... Iran is set to be one of the biggest beneficiaries of this latest war on terrorism, as embodied by ISIS, the radical jihadists who rose up out of the Syrian civil war. From what I can glean from articles on FrontPageMag, and such Middle Eastern experts as Walid Shoebat and Majid Rafizadeh, Iran is clearly manipulating both the West and the Middle East, while playing out its role for the End of the Ages.
Did you know that Iran was the major reason behind the emergence and creation of the terrorist group the Islamic State? According to FrontPageMAg, "Iran's military, financial, intelligence, advisory, and security support of the Assad government in Syria contributed to the instability of the country. Both Syria and Iran used the excuse that they were putting down civil uprisings to legitimize their brutal force, which both radicalized and militarized Al-Qaeda affiliates and groups such as ISIS, initiating their development, organization, and recruitment of more members."
But here is where the plot becomes more diabolical. The rise of such groups as ISIS was a distinct advantage to both Iran and the Assad regime. FrontPageMag reports, "The Islamic Republic [of Iran] and Syria were strategically successful at sending the West, and particularly the United States, a robust message that there is no alternative to Assad, and any military or foreign intervention would exacerbate the conflict." That explains why we kept a "hands off" policy for so long. But the spiritual component of this situation is that in the background, Satan is gaining more ground towards his ultimate goal of conflagration against Israel.
Because look at how smart Iran is playing this game! ISIS had time to grow its numbers, and has managed to panic the world with its successive beheadings and mass executions across Iraq and Syria. Now with ISIS's bold pronouncements against the West, Iran is presenting itself as a willing ally in their defeat. In reality, by offering their assistance in defeating ISIS (and our acceptance of their help), Iran no longer has to hide its involvement in Syrian and Iraqi affairs (or its part in the emergence of ISIS), as it continues to grow its power in those regions (when our military forces pulled out of Iraq, we left the door wide open for Iran). The mullahs and the Iranian regime will cast themselves in this Devil's play as essential to victory, and as the major power in the Middle East; demanding concessions for their assistance, of course. The price? Look the other way as they continue their development of nuclear weapons.
Is there much more to this whole scenario as seen from a worldly viewpoint? Absolutely! The machinations of world leaders will continue to influence what we see on the nightly news, and we will be told what they want us to hear. But we're a little smarter, more aware, and not as naive as we were when we went to war in Iraq 11 years ago. And God's people are awake, too. Our Biblical viewpoint allows us to see the Bible's prophecies coming to fulfillment. We know that no matter what the "king's of this world" may decide, it is YHVH who is ultimately in control and the battle will play out as He has planned it.
So, like I said, I am no foreign policy expert, nor prophecy scholar; and I definitely see "in a mirror, darkly," But my spirit is telling me that there is more to this story than any official White House bulletin or United Nations speech might convey. While all eyes are fixed on ISIS, Iran is flexing its muscle, and Turkey is waiting in the wings to make its presence known. But we must keep our eyes on the Holy City of Jerusalem. That is where the final war of this Age will occur, and no one can doubt that we are certainly moving in that direction. "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May those who love you be secure." (Psalm 122:6)

Islamic State urged its followers on Monday to attack citizens of the United States, France and other countries which have joined a coalition to destroy the militant group.
Islamic State spokesman Abu Muhammad al-Adnani also taunted US President Barack Obama and other Western "crusaders" in a statement carried by the SITE monitoring website, saying their forces faced inevitable defeat at the militants' hands.
The United States is building an international coalition to combat the radical Sunni Muslim group, which has seized swathes of territory in Iraq and Syria and proclaimed a caliphate in the heart of the Middle East.
Adnani said the intervention by the US-led coalition would be the "final campaign of the crusaders", according to SITE's English-language transcript of an audio recording in Arabic.
"It will be broken and defeated, just as all your previous campaigns were broken and defeated," Adnani said in the statement, which urged followers to attack US, French, Canadian, Australian and other nationals.
US and French warplanes have struck Islamic State targets in Iraq and on Sunday the United States said other countries had indicated a willingness to join it if it goes ahead with air strikes against the group in Syria too.
Washington has also committed $500 million to arm and train Syrian rebels and has sent 1,600 US troops back into Iraq to fight the group..
In his statement, Adnani mocked Western leaders over their deepening military engagement in the region and said Obama was repeating the mistakes of his predecessor, George W. Bush.
"If you fight it (Islamic State), it becomes stronger and tougher. If you leave it alone, it grows and expands. If Obama has promised you with defeating the Islamic State, then Bush has also lied before him," Adnani said, according to the transcript.
"DRAGGED TO DESTRUCTION"
Addressing Obama directly, Adnani added: "O mule of the Jews, you claimed today that America would not be drawn into a war on the ground. No, it will be drawn and dragged ... to its death, grave and destruction."
Obama, who has spent much of his tenure extracting the United States from Iraq after its costly 2003 invasion and occupation, is sensitive to charges that he is being drawn into another long campaign that risks US soldiers' lives.
While Obama has ruled out a combat mission, military officials say the reality of a protracted campaign in Iraq and possibly Syria may ultimately require greater use of US troops, including tactical air strike spotters or front-line advisers embedded with Iraqi forces.
In his statement, Adnani criticized Kurdish fighters who are battling the Islamic State militants in both Syria and Iraq.
"We do not fight Kurds because they are Kurds. Rather we fight the disbelievers amongst them, the allies of the crusaders and Jews in their war against the Muslims," Adnani said, adding that there were many Muslim Kurds within the ranks of the Islamic State army.
On Monday, Syrian Kurdish fighters halted an advance by Islamic State to the east of a predominantly Kurdish town near the border with Turkey, a spokesman for the main Kurdish group said.
Adnani also condemned Saudi Arabia, whose senior Muslim clergy have denounced Islamic State and whose ruling royal family has joined other Arab states in a pledge to tackle militant ideology as part of a strategy to counter the group.
Adnani slammed Western inaction over the conflict in Syria, where President Bashar Assad's forces have been embroiled in a three-year-old civil war with mainly Sunni Muslim fighters. He said the West had "looked the other way" when barrel bombs were dropped and chemical weapons were used against Muslim civilians.
"So know that - by Allah - we fear not the swarms of planes, nor ballistic missiles, nor drones, nor satellites, nor battleships, nor weapons of mass destruction," he said.

The West has been on a losing streak with Islamic Terrorists for several years. It was just last year when we realized that al-Qaeda is stronger now than it was in 2001 (the official beginning of the War on Terror).
The rise of ISIS in Syria and Iraq has added a whole new dimension to our policy disaster. This group has set a new low for savagery. They march across the land killing anyone they see as an enemy. They proudly post videos of themselves murdering large groups of captured Iraqi security forces. Three U.S. and U.K. nationals have also been beheaded by ISIS, which has gotten the most attention.
British Prime Minister David Cameron reacted to the execution of British aid worker David Haines by calling it an "act of pure evil" and vowing justice. "The murder of David Haines is an act of pure evil. My heart goes out to his family who have shown extraordinary courage and fortitude," Cameron said in a statement.
I don't think ISIS were left crying in their tents after having been labeled as "pure evil" by a major world leader. These people get off on this type of criticism. Cameron might as well have said, "Great job boys, keep the beheading videos coming."
We started a bombing campaign against ISIS forces, but our impact is minimal as best. Despite our heavy air presence, the terrorist group has managed to seize 60 Kurdish villages in a two-day period. This action has sent as many as 100,000 Kurds fleeing into Turkey.
The brutality of ISIS has actually attracted followers. A large number of people have been flocking to the Middle East to join the terrorist cause. In just the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, law enforcement officials say they learned that 15-20 men have left the community to fight for extremist groups in Syria.
Even women are being seduced into joining ISIS. A nurse's aide, Shannon Conley, 19, from Colorado, was arrested with a one-way ticket to the Middle East. She was recruited online by a male militant in Syria.
I support a measure that U.S. Senator Ted Cruz has suggested. He said that Americans who join, support or fight with Islamic State should lose their U.S. citizenship. Anyone who wants to side with the enemy should be barred from returning to the country.
Our biggest mistake has been operating under the idea that Islam and terrorism are two separate things. In reality, they are joined at the hip. Recently, we offered to provide $500 million to train "moderate" Syrian rebels to fight ISIS. Days later, we learned these same rebels have agreed to a non-aggression pact with ISIS.
President Obama claims to have a host of Arab nations that are supposed to have joined with us in fighting ISIS, but none of them want to be named. Some pundits have mocked it as the Coalition of the Unwilling. We live on the other side of the planet and are in no immediate threat from ISIS; but it is left to us to do all the heavy lifting. The lack of help is because deep-down there is a spiritual connection between ISIS and all other Muslim organizations.
Winston Churchill once defended his decision to regard Stalin as an ally by famously saying: "If Hitler invaded hell, I would make at least a favorable reference to the Devil in the House of Commons." At least the Soviet Union was of some temporary benefit to Britain. The Arab devil we have allied with has done us more harm than good. ISIS couldn't have gotten started if it wasn't for money from Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states.
The liberal media works endlessly to downplay the sinister nature of Islam. Several times they have gone to absurd lengths to defend it. When Duck Dynasty star, Phil Robertson, was on Fox News' Hannity, he flippantly responded to the host's question about how the U.S. should deal with ISIS' evil acts by saying, "Convert them or kill them." The press had a fit over the statement.
The liberal media are such blind apologists for Muhammadanism that they can't even detect matters that are meant to be taken lightly. Really Big Coloring Books, a St. Louis based publisher has gotten two rounds of publicity by announcing anti-terrorism themed coloring books for children that contain graphic images.
(One has Osama bin Laden hiding behind one of his wives during the Seal Team Six Raid, another has bin Laden lying dead on the ocean floor with fish making comments about how foul he tastes.) You can't even find the coloring book on the company's website. The press is too eager to vent their outrage to notice what they are griping about was done in the context of a spoof.
It's probably unlikely that any lasting discredit will come to Islam this side of the Rapture. Because the Antichrist will sign a peace pact with all religions, Satan will not allow Islam to become a pariah religion. When Jesus comes back, Islam, along with all other false religions, will face the Lord's wrath.
"And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?" (Revelation 6:15-17).
