President of the World ..... OBAMA?

President of the World - By Matt Ward - http://www.raptureready.com/soap2/ward44.html

Barack Hussein Obama has high ambitions indeed. He is clearly still a very aspirational man. Unlike presidents before him who have gone on to build a library or to the highly lucrative private lecture circuit, Obama sees the end of his tenure as president of the United States, arguably the most important and powerful leadership position on earth, as merely yet another stepping stone toward more power.

One commentator famously quipped of Obama as president that he never really started governing, because he never really stopped campaigning. This, apparently, is still the case today as his second term draws to a close.

It is the biggest, most talked about secret of the last few weeks; Obama apparently wants to become the next Secretary General of the United Nations. In 2017, Ban Ki Moon's current term leading this international body comes to an end and Obama, if reports and all the "chatter" are to be believed, harbors genuine aspirations towards this role.

Many are dismissive, believing the position of Secretary General to be a "non-position." Be under no illusion though, Barack Obama as Secretary General of the UN would not be the same as a Ban Ki Moon, or a Kofi Annan or a Dr Boutros-Boutros Ghali. Barack Obama is a truly global politician with a global reach and influence. This position, were he to fill it, would inevitably morph into something else entirely.

Obama already has considerable kudos at the United Nations, having picked up the Nobel Peace Prize early in his presidency. Regardless of how mystifying this award may appear now, with the benefit of eight years hindsight, Obama remains a figure of popularity and even reverence at the UN.

He is the first president of the United States who has actively tried to subjugate America to the mandates and dictates of the UN. As UN Secretary General, Obama would certainly seek to continue this trend, likely at every turn, and would continue to undermine U.S. interests in favor of those of the UN.

From the very beginning Obama has been true to his vision. In 2008, he did promise to fundamentally transform America with his mantra of "change," and change has been his agenda for the entirety of his two terms. He has been as good as his word. The America of 2016 is a different place entirely from the America of 2008.

In post as a UN Secretary General we should expect nothing less than a continuation of this policy; his entire life seems to be have been driven by this desire for fundamental change and transformation. At the UN, Obama would no doubt spend considerable amounts of his time and energy attempting to further pacify the interests of the United States in favor of the United Nations. No doubt he would spend significant time and energy agitating within the US to this effect.

At the conclusion of his presidency it seems as if Obama's aspirations have always been to progress towards an end point where the interests of the United States and the United Nations would merge. In order to do this he clearly understands that one of the two entities, the United States or the United Nations, must be subjugated to the needs of the other. The entire pattern of Obama's presidency has been one of subjugating U.S. interests to those of literally all other international bodies, including the UN.

Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are, of course, abhorred by this and he will without doubt will fight tooth and nail to prevent it from becoming a reality. The  Jerusalem Post reports, "Netanyahu remembers well just how U.S. President Barack Obama brushed aside Israeli objections and went ahead with the P5+1 nuclear agreement with Iran. Now, Netanyahu is reportedly planning some personal payback."

The potential of Obama moving across to the UN at the end of his tenure as U.S. president is frankly horrifying to a majority of Israelis. Two terms of isolation, criticism and betrayal in U.S. - Israeli relations would be replaced by years yet to come of Obama turning the international community against Israel. Obama at the UN would substantially deepen the pit of international isolation Israel even now find themselves in.

The potential for Obama to become Secretary General of the United Nations also has eerie prophetic undertones attached to it. Scripture clearly indicates that at the time of the end all the nations of the world will come against Israel. We see this trend speeding up even now with Israel's increasing vilification on the world stage in almost all spheres.

Soon this prophecy will become a present day reality:

"On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations" (Zechariah 12:3).

Barack Obama as Secretary General of United Nations carries the potential for this field of prophetic development to take a lurch forward towards fulfillment, approaching a rapidly nearing point when all the nations of the world would actually and openly hate Israel and come against her.

It is not beyond the realms of possibility that this aspiration and end point have driven him in seeking this role from the very beginning.

Obama, has demonstrated throughout his presidency that he has no love for Israel and that he despises Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He has worked actively against Israel for eight years now and has caused grievous damage to her.

Barack Obama as Secretary General of the UN would have the scope and reach to further this agenda on a global, world stage. He could influence and bring direct pressure to bear on every country in the world, specifically against Israel.

The implications for Israel if Barack Obama became Secretary General of the United Nations are catastrophic. Though I do not believe Barack Obama to be the Antichrist, there is more than a shade of antichrist about this potential move.

It is for this reason that despite the growing number of commentator's eager to dismiss this claim of as a fad, I remain to be convinced, and will therefore be watching carefully. We all should be.

Obama: King of the World? - By Jan Markell - www.olivetreeviews.org

Barack Obama doesn't just want to fundamentally transform America. His sights are on the world. Many stories are breaking that he aspires to become the General-Secretary of the United Nations. Such talk is no longer Internet rumor.

We hear a lot about global government today, and we do not know if this will be represented by the United Nations. Since we are late in the eschatological game, we probably don't have time for another body to rise up and control this world government.

Those who defend the notion of a world government claim that it would be a benign federation of nations structurally similar to our federal government. It is touted as the solution to all of society's ills. We can wipe away war, poverty, and all injustice. There would absolutely be no want. They suggest this would perpetuate global peace and prosperity. The truth is, it would be an Orwellian nightmare.

The Beast

In Revelation 13, John sees the "beast," also called the Antichrist, rising out of the sea having seven heads and ten horns. This corresponds with Daniel 7. Some kind of world system will be inaugurated by the beast. Many theologians conclude that this will be a one-world government.

It is hard to imagine how such a diverse system of government would willingly subjugate themselves to a single ruler. How would Communism, capitalism, democracy, and Islam all get along? The Antichrist would have the power to make this happen or dissolve all of these systems and blend them into one.  He will have Satanic power to do this.

When does this world ruler ascend to his throne? Many conclude it will be when the disasters and plagues described in mid-Revelation are playing out in a devastating way. Others feel it makes more sense that he will seize control right after the chaos of the Rapture.

The current U.N. Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon's term is set to end on December 31, 2016. Barack Obama is available on January 21, 2017.

Enter Bibi Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, working with moderate Arab nations, is on record as saying, "Isn't eight years of having Obama in office enough? Eight years in which he ignored Israel. And now he wants to be in a position that is liable to cause us hardship in the international arena."

Will He Be "King of the World"?

Some are suggesting that if Obama pursues this agenda and gets it he will consider himself "king of the world". Investors Business Daily warned over a year and a  half ago that President Obama wasn't about to spend his post-presidency time building houses like Jimmy Carter. There were signs that he would seek to become head of the U.N.

An Israeli newspaper recently ran a cartoon with this "king of the world" theme.

A covenant will be made with Israel (Daniel 9) and a world body during the Tribulation. The Antichrist will make a covenant, then break that covenant, with Israel, during the Tribulation.

The U.S. Under U.N. Authority?

Would Obama place the U.S. under U.N. authority? As a presidential candidate in 2007 he wrote, "The security and well being of every American depends on the security and well being of those who live beyond our borders. The mission of the United States is to provide global leadership grounded in the understanding that the world shares a common security and a common humanity."

For the mostly undemocratic powers represented in the U.N., having a former U.S. President who serves their interests, for all intents and purposes "King of the World," would be a dream come true.  Never has the head of a major world power served in this role. Rules and traditions would likely have to be broken.

Addicted to the Roar

Canada's National Post asks, "What post-presidency career would Obama consider worthy of his future attention and efforts? Few jobs of Olympian prestige are available, and his self-admittedly vast self-esteem might diminish the list still further. We agree with a number of other observers that Obama has his sights set on the office of United Nations Secretary-General."

Barack Obama will wave a reluctant good-bye. He is addicted to the roar. He will never forsake the spotlight he loves so much.

Pinning the Tail on the Antichrist

We are not privileged to know if any U.N. role will be played out by the Antichrist. Those who continually play the "pin the tail on the Antichrist" game are only guessing.

Only God knows who these end-time king-pins will be. His partner is called the False Prophet. Are they alive and well? Likely so.

We don't know if this transition at the U.N. will happen in 2017. If it does, Barack Obama will become the most dangerous man in the world.  And possibly, the most powerful.

The timing of this is diabolical as the world awaits a savior to solve its many problems.
