U.S. Carries Out Counterterrorism
The U.S. military has carried out a counterterrorism strike against leaders of militant group al-Shabab in Somalia. Journalists in Somalia reported that suspected U.S. drone fired missiles were fired near the port city of Barawe. A Pentagon statement did not say whether the operation was limited to drone strikes or whether U.S. commandos had been present on the ground. Microchip Implants in Your Future
Microchip implants like the ones pet owners use to track their dogs and cats could become commonplace in humans in the next decade. According to author and scholar Alex Soojung-Kim Pang, chip implants could be less intrusive than some emerging ID systems which rely on physical biometrics. The FDA approved the first implantable microchip in 2004. Engineer Stu Lipoff says there are many interesting applications and that it's better than having a barcode stitched onto our foreheads.

EU Threatens Israel With Total Ban
The European Union will impose a ban on imports of all Israeli meat, poultry and dairy products unless Jerusalem comes up with a sufficiently effective mechanism that differentiates the produce that originates in areas beyond 1967 Green Line. Israeli officials have "a matter of weeks" to persuade their EU counterparts that they have put in place a system that separately labels produce that is grown in disputed territories.

Indoctrinating Young Minds
Islamic militants are indoctrinating young boys into their ideology and training them to use weapons. A 13- year old told of the beheadings, stonings and crucifixion by the ISIS group that he witnessed at children's camps in Syria. The 13-year old explains that he was called to attend one of iSIS' children's camps in northern Syria, and that the terror group threatened his father with death if he refused. The boy has now been able to flee to safety in Turkey.

NATO Weighs Rapid Response Force
NATO leaders meeting in Wales are expected to endorse the establishment of a rapid-reaction force capable of deploying quickly to Eastern Europe. The new force of some 4,000 troops, capable of moving on 48 hours' notice, will be supported with logistics and equipment pre-positioned in Eastern European countries closer to Russia. President Obama will attend the meeting showing that he is dedicated to NATO at a time when Russia is challenging the postwar.

Timetable for Withdrawals
Chief Palestinian Authority negotiator Saeb Erekat will be presenting plans to U/S/ Secretary of State John Kerry with a timetable for Israel's pullout from Judea and Samaria. The timeframe for ending Israel's occupation is to be agreed upon as soon as possible and not after the end of this year according to a Palestinian official. Erekat and PA "Intelligence Minister" Majid Faraj plan to hold a series of meetings with senior Washington officials to press the case for "two states for two peoples."
