IRAN UPDATE: 7.24.15 - Checkmate

A nuclear agreement with Iran has finally been signed and Barack Obama and his administration are heralding it as a triumph. Barack Obama is clearly looking to secure his legacy through this nuclear deal. With an eye towards how history will view him, Obama has been anxious to get this deal, in fact any deal, completed before his term comes to an end. He was desperate to be the President who finally tamed the ancient Persians, those masters of chess, desperate to bring them to heel through the statutes and limitations of an internationally recognized and binding nuclear agreement.

Other seasoned commentators see these aspirations as gullible and naive, that Obama has displayed a breath-taking hubris in these negotiations and in its final agreement. Despite what Obama thinks to the contrary, President Barack Obama and his Secretary of State John Kerry have more than met their match in the Iranians. Obama and Kerry have met their nemesis in Iran, though they are so utterly clueless they don't seem to even realize it yet.

Or worse, they do realize but simply do not care.

Sun Tzu, author of the ancient and revered Art of War, would be proud of what the Iranians have achieved in these talks. Never in the history of international relations has a weakened, inferior power gained so much from a more significant, powerful enemy at such limited personal cost to themselves. Iran have gained every single desired outcome and have conceded on not one major point. Not a single one. Iran has not made any concessions in this deal at all.

The inspection clauses are worse than worthless giving Iran nearly a one month notice before they have to give inspectors access to any suspect sites. The deal actually helps them deliberately deceive the West. This means any intelligence indicating potential breaches is completely useless. This deal ensures that there can be no "smoking gun."

It is a complete capitulation to Iran.

What fool makes an agreement with a regime that is the biggest state sponsor of terrorism in the world and in the final agreement acquiesce and allows them the continued ability to develop nuclear weapons? What fool does this when the regime in question regularly and consistently, even as the negotiations are drawing to a conclusion, calls for your own death publically and very unashamedly?

When sanctions are lifted Iran will do what they always have done, they will abandon this deal under the false pretense that America or the international community have not kept up their side of the bargain in some way, just as they have done in the recent past.

When this happens the West will be in an even weaker position than they are now as Iran will have received billions of dollars in sanctions relief meaning there will be no crippling financial imperative for them to sit at a negotiating table a fresh. There is also no certainty at all that Russia or China would allow for anymore sanctions on Iran in the future.

The opportunity to force Iran's hand has now gone and there will be real consequences for it. The West should be under no illusions about Iran's imperial intentions in the Middle East. Iran has a deep sense of its own Persian history and it fully intends, now that these negotiations are completed, to utterly dominate the entire region.

The region is in outright chaos especially with the rise of ISIS and the destruction of traditional power bases and borders this has brought with it. It is this huge power vacuum that Iran intends to fill. It is now certain that the acquisition of nuclear weapons in ten years at the very latest, (although in reality probably much sooner), will only embolden that ambition.

Iran still fully intends to acquire nuclear threshold status as soon as they possibly can. What else do Obama and Kerry think the Ayatollah meant just last week when he said that soon Iran would present an achievement to the world soon that would be a "fait accompli?"

If this nuclear agreement does gets through Congress or is not derailed by hardliners in Iran, then it will have irrevocably changed the Middle East landscape forever. The Middle East is already broken, now it is near total collapse. This deal will create seismic changes in the power structures of the region. Iran is now in total ascendancy. Traditional American allies like Saudi Arabia and Jordan are appalled. Israel has been thrown under a bus, literally cast aside.

How insulting and appalling for the tiny Jewish State that only now after the deal has been signed do Obama and Kerry talk of strengthening and deepening Israeli-US security cooperation, to "safeguard Israel." It would have been better to consider Israel's defensive needs before the conclusion of these talks, not after.

Better still to have taken proactive measures to prevent Iran from ever building or developing nuclear weapons again. Talk is cheap and these statements are what they are, merely hollow, meaningless words. Obama and Kerry have no intention whatsoever of defending Israel, and Israel know it.

This agreement will now certainly force Israel's hand. Israel sees Iran and its nuclear weapons program as an existential threat to the survival of their Jewish State. They see Iran as a threat to the Jewish race itself. They are now obliged to defend themselves, and they will. When this happens the international outrage will be appalling and American support for Israel will evaporate.

The legacy Obama so desperately seeks will not be found in this accord.  People will not look back at Barack Obama and consider him to be the great statesman of our time. Obama's legacy will be of a president that allowed and created the necessary conditions for a full-blown nuclear arms race in the Middle East, as the Saudis will now purchase nuclear weapons from Pakistan, ready-made and off the shelf.

President Obama has now ensured both the Sunni's and the Shia's, if left unchecked, will have the capability to utterly annihilating each other, and begin the next world war in the process. Obama, in this agreement has completely destroyed the traditional balance of power in the Middle East.

More important than how posterity will judge this administration though is how God will judge it. I have said many times that God's foreign policy is the same today as it was three thousand years ago,

"I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse" (Genesis 12:3).

We should all be under no illusions about what this agreement means. Obama and his administration and therefore the country that he leads have now cursed the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Seventy five years ago Neville Chamberlain declared that we had "...peace for our time." How wrong he was. Winston Churchill perhaps best summed up the position we find ourselves in today in his cutting response to Chamberlain, "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor and you will have war."

I think Churchill may be right again.
Iran's Khamenei hails his people for demanding death to America and Israel -

WATCH: In vicious speech, leader says he hopes God will answer these prayers; vows nuclear deal won't change Iran's support for Palestine, opposition to America

Iran's supreme leader on Saturday hailed the Iranian masses for demanding the destruction of Israel and America, and said he hoped that God would answer their prayers.

In a viciously anti-US speech delivered in Tehran four days after Iran and the world powers signed an accord designed to thwart Iran's nuclear program, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei praised "the slogans of the people of Iran" which "indicated what directions they're heading for," according to the English translation of his speech by Iran's Press TV.

At Al-Quds day rallies last week, Khamenei noted appreciatively, "You heard 'Death to Israel', 'Death to the US.' You could hear it. The whole nation was shaken by these slogans. It wasn't only confined to Tehran. The whole of the nation, you could hear, that was covered by this great movement. So we ask Almighty God to accept these prayers by the people of Iran."

Khamenei also vowed in the speech, which was broadcast live on state television, that the nuclear agreement with the major powers would not change Iran's policy against the "arrogant American government" nor would it change the Islamic Republic's policy of supporting its "friends" in the region.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran will not give up support of its friends in the region - the oppressed people of Palestine, of Yemen, the Syrian and Iraqi governments, the oppressed people of Bahrain and sincere resistance fighters in Lebanon and Palestine... Our policy will not change with regards to the arrogant US government," said Khamenei.

His remarks were greeted intermittently by chants of "Death to America" and "Death to Israel" at the ceremony, held in Tehran to mark the end of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.

He ridiculed the notion that Iran had capitulated in the talks, and said the world could not have stopped an Iranian nuclear weapons project because Iran never had such a project.

He castigated America for its support of Israel - which he called the "terrorist, child-killing Zionist regime." And he said Iran could never engage in discussions or reach an agreement with an America that backed Israel.

"Plainly we don't want war," Khamenei said. "But if war breaks out, it will be the aggressive, cruel American that loses."

Under the deal announced Tuesday, Iran's nuclear program will be scaled back and closely monitored as the US and world powers seek to cut off its ability to develop an atomic weapon. In exchange, Iran will see biting economic sanctions gradually lifted, freeing up tens of billions of dollars in oil revenue and frozen assets.

In exchange, Iran will see biting economic sanctions gradually lifted, freeing up tens of billions of dollars in oil revenue and frozen assets.

Hours later, President Barack Obama defended the deal with Iran, insisting that diplomacy was the preferred solution to the Iranian nuclear drive, and that the deal signed Tuesday closed the regime's path to nuclear weapons. It "actually pushes Iran further away from a bomb. And there's a permanent prohibition on Iran ever having a nuclear weapon."

Khamenei backed up his words Saturday with a series of Twitter posts repeating his key messages. "Even with #IranDeal, our policies toward US Arrogant system will see no change. US policies in the region differ through 180° from Iran's," said one.

"The #IranDeal text approved or not, we won't stop supporting the oppressed nation in Palestine, Yemen, Syria, Bahrain and Lebanon," said another.

He added: "We have no talks with US on any international regional issues. We've had occasional talks with US on basic issues like Nuclear Talks based on prudence."

Iran has long been a sponsor of the Syrian regime headed by embattled President Bashar Assad, as well as Lebanon-based terror group Hezbollah. The Shiite Hezbollah, an Iranian proxy, has sent forces to fight alongside the Assad regime against rebels sworn to overthrow it.

The supreme leader's comments reflected his longstanding position that Iran's engagement with the six powers was solely to reach a nuclear deal that was in its national interest.

He stressed that the deal with Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States plus Germany was not yet law and would have to be carefully scrutinized.

"They really took pains and worked hard," Khamenei said of Iran's negotiating team.

"The text that has been prepared, whether it is approved or not, they have done their part and they should have their reward," he added.

As Iran's supreme leader, Khamenei has the final word on all policy matters, foreign and domestic, including on the nuclear deal.

In numerous speeches before this week's accord, he appeared ambiguous about the talks, consistently talking down the chances of success but at the same time praising Iran's negotiators as trustworthy and brave.

In his first comment on the deal, Khamenei had warned Wednesday that some of the world powers are unreliable, and that the agreement must be scrutinized to ensure the other parties don't violate it.

"We know it well that some of the six governments from the opposite party are by no means reliable," Khamenei told Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in a letter published on the supreme leader's Persian-language website, in a possible allusion to the United States. Translations of the letter's text were published on Iranian English news sites.

Khamenei had the final say in approving the deal, despite cautioning weeks earlier that the United States couldn't be trusted in the talks. On the Saturday before the deal was struck, Khamenei also told students that Iran would continue to fight the US's "global arrogance" whether or not an accord was reached.
White House: Iran has material for 10 nukes - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com

In his Saturday address, the "president" made his case to the American people about the great benefits of the Iranian nuclear deal. He revealed that Iran had enough nuclear material presently to make up to 10 nuclear weapons. He said the Iranians also have two key nuclear facilities that they will have to "repurpose" "so they can't produce materials that could be used for a nuclear weapon." He further said, "With this deal, we will have unprecedented 24/7 monitoring of Iran's key nuclear facilities. With this deal, international inspectors will have access to Iran's entire nuclear supply chain." To those who have followed this decade-old saga, not much has changed, except sanctions are lifted, pressure is off Iran.

Neither Americans nor Israelis will have any access to inspect the Iranian nuclear sites. These are the two countries Iran continuously says that it wants destroyed. Notwithstanding, Iran has denied since the early 2000s that it was developing nuclear weapons. The United Nations, which was charged with inspecting the Iranian nuclear program under the guidance of Mohamed El Baradei, failed miserably. Otherwise, how could have Iran obtained and processed enough material to produce 10 nuclear bombs at two key nuclear facilities that didn't exist? The Iranians accomplished this feat while constantly denying they were building nuclear bombs and under the financial duress of worldwide sanctions.

If the Iranians had enough material to build 10 nuclear bombs after over a decade of playing cat and mouse with UN inspectors and the same diplomats that negotiated this deal (US, France, Germany, Russia, and China), what makes anyone believe that this nuclear program will be stopped now? The only thing that has changed is Iran will now have considerable financial windfall to finish the job because sanctions will have been ended and bonus money--your tax dollars--will line the pockets of the terrorist-sponsoring state. A new agreement does not change the heart's intent when the old agreement was never honored in the first place.

The "president," however, calls critics of the deal liars, saying concerns are "overheated and often dishonest," and "patently false." The "president's" claims are based on political rhetoric, not wisdom. Iran will continue developing its nuclear program. Nuclear facilities should have been destroyed, not "repurposed." And the "president" has made the world a much more dangerous place by negotiating with a terrorist-sponsoring state whose subjects danced in the streets shouting "death to Israel; death to America" after the deal was signed. Psalm 10:7 says of the wicked, "His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud; under his tongue is mischief and vanity." Congress has 60 days to reverse this bad deal. But the march of prophecy continues.
