Arch of Palmyra Casts Shadow of Idolatry Over Kavanaugh Hearings - By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz -
And Eliyahu came near unto all the people, and said: 'How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.' And the people answered him not a word. I Kings 18:21 (The Israel Bible™)
On September 26, a 20 foot-tall replica of Roman Victory Arch of Palmyra was unveiled for a three-day display on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The arch perfectly framed the Capitol Building where the next day, Christine Blasey Ford and Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Though the arch and the Senate hearings seem disconnected, there may be an underlying nefarious synchronicity bringing the idolatrous roots of the arch to the political process going on nearby.
Representative Eliot Engel (Dem-NY) spoke at the arch's unveiling ceremony, saying, "When you look at this beautiful arch, we are seeing through the eyes of ancient civilizations, and to have it right here, set against the classical columns of the Capitol, is really extraordinary."
Engel is also proud of many things including his efforts in pro-abortion legislation.
"I am proud to be a member of the House Pro-Choice Caucus and to have a 100% voting record with the Planned Parenthood Action Fund," Engel wrote on his website. "In addition, I was honored to receive the Congressional Defender of Women's Rights Award from the Westchester Coalition for Legal Abortion."
The controversy surrounding Kavanaugh began well before Blasey Ford stepped forward, accusing him of sexually assaulting her 36 years ago. His nomination faced fierce opposition from the left-wing at the outset due to their fear that once he became a Supreme Court Justice, he would help overturn Roe v. Wade. Blasey Ford's allegation was used as an opportunity to prevent this and as a result, Planned Parenthood advocated strongly for Ford.
It should be remembered that Palmyra, the home of the original arch for two millennia, was a major center for idolatry, specifically the worship of Ba'al, also known as Moloch. Mentioned more than 90 times in the Bible, most notably when Elijah defeated the priests of Ba'al in a contest to bring down fire from heaven to burn a sacrifice, Ba'al became the archetypical form of idol worship. Pantheistic, his adherents worshipped Mother Nature while denying the existence of a creator. Followers of Ba'al engaged in bisexual orgies and sacrificed human infants, burning them alive. Anthropologists conjecture that the child sacrifice was to cull the population after the inevitable outcome of wanton sexuality.
Rabbi Pinchas Winston, a prolific end-of-days author, sees a powerful message in the connection between the ancient symbol of idolatry and the current political conflict.
"Even though people change, generations come and go, and the manner in which certain social phenomena appear, the spiritual basis and human drives of what we do today have their source in the Bible," Rabbi Winston told Breaking Israel News. "These roots of history will serve until Moshiach (Messiah)."
Rabbi Winston noted that even if the timing was coincidental, the issue of abortion is not exclusive to modern times.
"Abortion has its spiritual source in the child sacrifice to Moloch," he explained. "The worship of Moloch was based on the belief that anything a person produced was wastefulness and life is meaningless. Jews are reviled because we say precisely the opposite. That is why we sacrifice so many worldly pleasures for the sake of the world to come. A godless world says 'Eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die'. And forget about the consequences, no matter how inevitable."
Rejecting idolatry should be a universal concern. Judaism does not desire for non-Jews to convert to Judaism but the third Noahide law is a prohibition against idolatry.
"Avodah zara (idolatry) was created to give Man a sense of justification for his animalistic behavior, so that man could have a feeling of righteousness while doing evil," Rabbi Winston explained. "Any form of that is idol worship."
The rabbi suggested that the Bible could be used as a tool to avoid falling into these ancient pitfalls.
"People think mankind has evolved and there is no connection between our world and what happened thousands of years ago," he asserted. "This leads to a feeling of hopelessness, that life is meaningless. They don't believe in the soul and they say the Bible is irrelevant. History becomes meaningless but a cursory look reveals that our world is uncannily similar to what happened in the Bible. The Bible gives a basic understanding of life."
Palmyra was dedicated in 32 CE to the worship of Bel. Lower levels of the ground underneath the Temple of Palmyra indicate human occupation that goes back to the third millennium BCE. Converted into a Christian church during the Byzantine Era, parts of the structure were modified into a mosque by Muslims in 1132. It remained in use as a mosque until the 1920s.
The original arch was destroyed by the Islamic State (ISIS) in October 2015, but one year later, the Institute for Digital Archaeology (IDA) used 3-D printing technology to reproduce a 20-foot full-scale replica. Before the outbreak of the Syrian Civil War in 2011, Palmyra was a popular tourist attraction, drawing 105,000 visitors a year.
The reappearance of the Arch of Palmyra has been accompanied by other startling cases of synchronicity that connect to its roots in idolatry. Its debut in April 2016 in Trafalgar Square, London for the UNESCO World Heritage Week coincided with Beltane, the primary festival for Ba'al, the pagan deity for which the Temple of Palmyra was constructed.
In addition to its association with idolatry, the recreated arch is emerging as a symbol for world government. Before its appearance in the U.S. capital, the replica arch was displayed in New York's City Hall Plaza, London's Trafalgar Square, the G7 Summit in Florence, and Dubai's World Government Summit, attracting more than 10 million visitors.
The replica arch will next be reassembled in the Hague, the site of the Dutch Parliament and the UN's International Criminal Court. The Hague is described as the City of Peace and Justice. Hosted by the Centre for Global Heritage and Development, the arch will be displayed adjacent to the ICC for one month beginning October 17. The Internet announcement of the exhibit describes the arch, a replica of the victory of Roman paganism, as "a symbol of cultural resilience" that will stand as an inspiration to the Netherland's approximately 100,000 Syrian immigrants.
The IDA and UNESCO have paired up in other projects presenting symbols of idolatry. In November 2017, a statue of the pagan goddess Athena was reconstructed by the IDA and presented at an exhibit "The Spirit in the Stone," at the United Nations' headquarters in New York City. The exhibit described Athena as "synonymous with reason, refuge and the rule of law, all of the same values on which that historic institution was built," but the spear lying at the statue's feet belied her more common association as the goddess of war. Some scholars believe the Greek goddess was based on the Mesopotamian goddess al-Lat.
The prophetic fall out from Kavanaugh - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com
The Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court confirmation was the most vile, divisive, uncivil, immoral, unethical display of scorched-earth politics witnessed by Americans in recent history. No matter how much the Democratic Party tries to hang on its opponents for confirming Kavanaugh, there is nothing that excuses the shameful behavior of Democrats and their supporting cast of leftists, communists and anarchists. All the deeds they accused the conservatives of doing-lying, violence, harassment, bullying, victimization, hypocrisy-they themselves put on full display before the world. The poster child moment was crazed women clawing and banging on the Supreme Court doors during the swearing in ceremony.
What is this all about? Folks, we have to discern. It was not about abortion, race, religion, or LGBTQ rights. Those were only the fear issues that the puppeteers used to cobble together a coalition of useful pawns that could be whipped up into a frenzy or paid to act out on cue. The real issue here is the communist revolution to overthrow the Constitutional Republic of the United States. It had progressed quite well over the years with only a road bump during the Reagan years. Before that, and afterwards, it's been an easy and gradual slide into socialism. Socialists have embedded in all aspects of the government awaiting their complete takeover, which was supposed to be crowned with Hillary Clinton's coronation.
When that didn't happen, Americans had to pay the price. A "resistance" movement began. It became very aggressive, and at times, violent. We have not seen the peak yet. The Kavanaugh confirmation has only exposed it further. The prophetic fallout from Kavanaugh is this: Expect further division, more bullying, extraordinary legal actions, more outlandish claims from leftists in Hollywood and at so-called news organizations. Expect to be further disenfranchised and labeled if you challenge any part of the coup-makers' agenda. Everything they do and think will be projected onto those with whom they disagree. There will be further, even violent, condemnation of those who follow Christ.
These are of the seed of rebellion. It's not only rebellion against law and order, its root is rebellion against God. As Jude writes: "It was needful for me to write unto you and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ...Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities." This is what is happening in our nation. As Christ followers, we must be a prophetic people to stand in the gap and shine the light of salvation and righteousness. We have a say here, and the freedom to say it. Let's use it so we don't lose it.
Mob Brutality - By Hal Lindsey -
Senator Ted Cruz made a reservation for himself and his wife at a local Washington, DC restaurant. Someone at the restaurant told an Antifa group called "Smash Racism DC" that he would be there. Protestors gathered an hour before Senator Cruz arrived. They sat covertly in the restaurant's bar area while they waited.
As the Senator and his wife approached their table, Antifa sprung its ambush. They chanted, "We believe survivors!" And they kept on robotically chanting those words throughout their attack.
Those words, by the way, are almost meaningless. We all believe those we know to be survivors. But the rest of us have to measure evidence when deciding the validity of accusations. Here's what the group really means with that chant. "We believe all accusers."
But even that's not entirely true. They apparently do not believe the accuser of Keith Ellison - the first Muslim elected to the US Congress and Deputy Chair of the Democratic National Committee.
The protestors were in the faces of the Senator and his wife. They blocked the way, even as the couple tried to quietly leave the restaurant. But, of course, they shouldn't have had to leave at all. According to the Washington Post, waiters struggled to get the door open for the couple to leave. "Finally, the waiters got the door open, then slammed it shut again as soon as the Cruzes had walked out into the night. The crowd inside whooped. 'This is what'll happen to you if you support Kavanaugh!' a man warned the other patrons as they passed back through the bar."
Smash Racism DC put out a statement later that night. It ended by saying, "This is a message to Ted Cruz, Brett Kavanaugh, Donald Trump and the rest of the racist, sexist, transphobic, and homophobic right-wing scum: You are not safe. We will find you."
This is a violent threat made by violent people to violent ends. Last year, a man with a similar mindset attacked members of Congress practicing for the annual Congressional Baseball Game for Charity. He shot four people, seriously injuring Steve Scalise of Louisiana.
Later, Senator Rand Paul was attacked by a neighbor, and beaten within an inch of his life. He had several broken ribs and a damaged lung. Over time, he developed pneumonia in that lung. His wife, Kelley, wrote, "The average person takes 20,000 breaths a day. Since November 3, my husband, Rand Paul, has not taken a single one without pain. He has not had a single night's sleep uninterrupted by long periods of difficult breathing or excruciating coughing."
In recent days, US Senators have been threatened and accosted in the very halls of the US Capitol. A few days ago, a candidate for the Colorado State Senate was shot at while sitting in her vehicle.
In Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil, and other countries, violence has become a significant factor in elections. And now the United States stands oh-so-close to that same terrible reality.
Jesus said the last days would be like the days of Noah and Lot. Genesis tells us that Noah's time was characterized by violence. We often associate the time of Lot with the prevalence of homosexuality. But it wasn't just that. It was also a time of violent mobs.
Pray for America. And don't forget to pray for Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil, and those other places living under the growing threat of political violence and mob brutality.
Media bias a cloak of deception - Bill Wilson -
In an era where there is news 24-7, thousands of news stories are covered every day from all around the world. That's a lot to think about as you are trying to discern how the world is going. But there is one thing for certain: the news media is no longer trustworthy to provide unbiased news coverage. Even the news that is said to be unbiased has its own bias. Reporters no longer, or very rarely, report the news, but insert their opinions on what the news event means. A recent study indicates from June 1 through September 30, the networks spent only 14 minutes on the administration's economic achievements, including the positive effects of the tax cuts and deregulation, plus historic job growth.
As the election approaches, the media continues to pound the President and anyone who doesn't agree with the leftist agenda by parroting opposition talking points. Media Research Center (MRC), a media watchdog, analysts reviewed all 1,007 evening news stories (1,960 minutes of airtime) about the Trump administration on ABC, CBS and NBC from June 1 to September 30, tallying the coverage of each topic and all evaluative comments made by anchors, reporters and non-partisan sources (such as voters or experts). MRC reports the broadcast networks have continued to hammer Donald Trump and his team with the most hostile coverage of a President in TV news history--92 percent negative, vs. just eight percent positive.
A 2014 study by Indiana University and quoted by the New York Times indicated that only 7% of journalists identified as Republicans. In 2015 over 30 "journalists" left their jobs to work for the previous "president's" Administration, and many "journalists" had spouses that worked there. When the media supports a particular political agenda (surveys indicate the media votes over 90% for Democrats) it has lost all objectivity, resulting in the public receiving mass weaponized deception. It is up to the people, therefore, to stand for their First Amendment rights by discerning the truth, separating the fiction from the facts, and vocalizing the distrust. Above all we must stand for and demand the truth.
When the free press becomes exclusive of its belief system and political views, it no longer represents a free press. It becomes a voice for that belief system and a propaganda arm of those running that system. This has happened in America. The socialist revolutionary minions are trying to overthrow America and the media is helping them do it. We should not be influenced by these evildoers. As Solomon prayed in 1 Kings 3:9 saying, "Give therefore your servant an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and bad," so should we seek such wisdom and discernment to judge truth from lies. As you should know, the truth can be found, but you have to seek after it.
