Ezekiel 38: The Magog Connection continued - Gregory Supple - gps.pleadtheblood@gmail.com
Ezekiel 38:14~16 "Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, thus says the Sovereign Lord: On that day when My people Israel dwell safely, will you not take notice? Then you will come from your place out of the far North, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses (tanks), a great company and a mighty army. You will come against My people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land. It will be in the 'latter days' that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me, when I Am hallowed in you - O' Gog - before their eyes!"
Dear Family, when we read/hear statements beginning such: "Thus says the Lord God Almighty" our ears ought to perk-up because despite what the court-room of public opinions states in contrary - in the end only God's Word will stand! Jeremiah 44:28 ~ puts us to the test" Then the whole remnant of Judah who came to live in Egypt will know whose word will stand ~ MINE or theirs!" The ONE & only God of Israel has set HIS eyes upon Jerusalem -the apple of His Eye- do-not be deceived by any worldly mandates in seeking some sort of false nirvana: w/o the God of Israel's over-sight we're all doomed to darkness. For the Son of God, the incarnate Lord Jesus' all-consuming fire is in His gaze, and He will put His throne atop Mount Moriah whether we like it or not -when HE returns- the only question which remains for each of us is how will those EYES of fire be received? will they refine your soul unto holiness, or will they burn thee with an everlasting fire? Rev. 1:14 & 16 ~ "HIS face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance, and HIS eyes were like blazing fire!" When we see the word 'then' in Scripture? What is it eluding too? Usually in reference to end-of-age scenarios. Or as this above scripture states: in the 'latter days.' "The Latter Days" is a time period mentioned in Scripture which denotes the end-of-the-age. The Bible describes the circumstances of the turning point when Israel will accept Jesus as the Messiah. The Bible speaks of a time, after the Jews have returned to their land, when all the nations will gather against them.
"Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it." Zechariah 12:2-3
We read in Zechariah of how Israel is almost defeated by the armies of the invading nations. It is at this point of desperation that God will intervene and "save the tents of Judah" (v7). It is clear He will do this by sending His representative, the Lord Jesus Christ, for we read that "they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn" (v10). This is all very exciting as it links us into a prophecy directly about "the latter days" given by the prophet Moses to Israel: "I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed. And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you. And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them." Deuteronomy 4:26-31
So if we piece together the prophecy of Zechariah 12 with the prophecy of Deuteronomy 4, with Ezekiel 38 we get a picture of what is soon to happen on the earth. We have seen the fulfilment of the prophecies of the regathering of the Jews to Israel. We are living in a time just before the return of Jesus who will soon return and perform the resurrection of the dead and judgment. The nations will come against Israel. Israel will be in dire tribulation and on their last legs. At that point Messiah (and his saints) will appear to them and they will accept him and then they will begin to serve God once more. This is all going to happen in the time period called "The Latter Days". This shows that the Jews would once again return to their land. This happened in 1948 with the declaration of a Jewish state. We are therefore living in this Biblical time period termed "the latter days." Joel 3:17 "Then you will know that I, the Lord your God, dwell in ZION, (on) My Holy Hill! Jerusalem will be holy; never again shall foreigners invade her!" No-wonder East Jerusalem is so hotly contested these days: but the whole issue of control of the temple Mount is a moot point because at the end of the day - the Lord Jesus Christ, with eyes a flaming, will claim the Temple Mount as His own! The only question which arises is which side of the veil will thee be? Gog and his co-horts are making futile evil plans to invade Israel for their wealth. next time we'll see how that ends for them.
Ezekiel 38:10~12 "Thus says the Lord: On that day it shall come to pass that thoughts will arise in your mind, and you will make an evil plan: You will say, I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will go to a peaceful people, who dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars or gates ~ too plunder and take loot and turn thy hand against the re-settled ruins and the people gathered form the nations; rich in livestock and goods, living in the midst of the (holy) land.
