Nearing Midnight: Chess Masters Making Moves - Terry James - http://www.raptureready.com/rap16.html
We have looked at the matter before. The Persians are most generally given credit for having invented-or at least perfected-the game of chess. We are witnessing, I think, that game on a much more critical scale today. The more worrisome thing to consider is that the opponents of the modern-day Persians-Iran-seem to have no clue that the proverbial chess board is being set for future maneuvers that will have world-wide implications, if not checked.
And, there seems no one capable of "checking" the Iranian diabolists at this point.-Except for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He, however, has no say in what the Obama Administration does to counter the moves being made under the presidential nose.
While the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) moves in lightning-like fashion to set up a caliphate (dominion of Islam) in the power vacuum left by Obama's total withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq, there seems a complete lack of vision for the immediate or long-term future in the region. That is, there is no discernible indication that this administration has the slightest idea of movement on this proverbial chess board that might check the spread of Anti-American, Anti-Israel skullduggery. It seems that Mr. Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry are playing golf and fiddling around unnecessarily in other areas while the Middle East is about to ignite and burn.
That burning could become a nuclear conflagration, and that's what makes this building crisis doubly volatile, and crucial to having savvy diplomatic acumen at this chess board.
The Iranian chess masters are moving things around, performing sleight-of-hand, while those in charge in America seem to be paying scant attention to the moves down the pike being considered by the mullahs. I think it is with this recognition that Benjamin Netanyahu has tried to clue U.S. players in this crucial game.
ISIS is an ultra-violent, Sunni, Islamist horde that has swiftly taken over most of northern Iraq, and, as of this writing, threatens to take over Baghdad. Strangely, the Shi'ite Muslim-led government, which faces a dangerous challenge from the Sunni Muslim terrorist group threatening the whole region, counts as its allies both America and Iran. Even more strangely, the Obama Administration has seemed to simply forget the fact that Iran has threatened to nuke both America and Israel-the big Satan, and little Satan-when they reach that level of capability. And, they are, according to some well-placed intelligence sources, indeed making progress in that direction.
Yet, Obama plays golf, and John Kerry fiddles with non-essentials in Egypt and other places. I would like to think that their apparent lack of interest in opposing Iran and instead embracing that hate-filled, prophetic regime in helping stop ISIS is a ruse of some sort. -Kind of like when President Kennedy donned his fedora and feigned a head-cold to make the press think there was nothing going on as he headed for secretive meetings to deal with the Cuban missile crisis of October, 1962.
Unfortunately, the only clandestine activities coming from the administration and state department under this president has gone the other way. The secretive cabals have always produced results that have led the nation and world deeper into chaos and conflict, both internationally and domestically.
The Israeli prime minister is not fooled by the Iranian mullahs chess-like moves in wanting to hold Iraq's hand-even to cozy up somewhat to the much-hated America. One news item reports: Netanyahu was unsurprisingly wary of American military force in support of a close Iranian ally in Iraq.
"What you're seeing in the Middle East today, in Iraq and in Syria, is the historic hatreds between radical Shi'ites - in this case led by Iran - and radical Sunnis led by al-Qaida and ISIS and others," the prime minister explained.
"Now both of these camps are enemies of the United States," he continued. "And when your enemies are fighting each other, don't strengthen either one of them. Weaken both."
"And I think by far the worst outcome that could come out of this is that one of these factions - Iran - would come out with nuclear weapons capability," Netanyahu asserted. "That would be a tragic mistake. It would make everything else pale in comparison." It seems almost as if Mr. Netanyahu has looked at the future through the spiritual eyes of Ezekiel, the ancient, prophet of the prime minister's own people. The Persian chess-masters-Iran in today's geographic jargon-have the American guardians of the common defense looking at the top of the table, while the mullahs are working under the table to get those nuclear chess-pieces in place.
