Nearing Midnight: Islam's God at Work

Nearing Midnight: Islam's God at Work - Terry James -  http://www.raptureready.com/rap16.html

It has been a busy week, as you know, in the Middle East and in Ukraine. The Israeli-Hamas matter and the shooting down of the passenger airliner refocuses attention on this region of potential conflagration.

A daily briefing I receive on things transpiring in the Middle East and another I get on matters surrounding Europe brought information that congealed in my mind--things about supernatural influences going on, particularly in those regions. I believe these analyses bear prophetic import for the very near future.

The briefing concerning the Middle East reported that the Islamic State, formerly ISIS, ambushed and all but completely destroyed a powerful Iraqi military contingent moving to attack in the area of Al-Khalidiyah, Anbar Province.

The report stated that Al-Khalidiyah is about halfway between Ar-Ramadi and Al-Falluja. This, the briefing reported, seemed to indicate that the "Iraqi armor (mostly M1A1 MBTs and M113 APCs) was enroute to strike Al-Falluja from the west when it was ambushed by Islamic State fighters."

The Iraqi armored column was apparently an overwhelming force against a considerably less formidable military.

The Iraqis also enjoyed air superiority that should have meant the armored column should have been protected against ambush. The air power should have been able to spot, then move in ahead of, the advancing military and decimate the Islamic State forces lying in wait.

The briefing stated:

A column of several Iraqi Army M-113 APCs continue burning after the ambush. The Iraqi army clearly fought the Islamic State ambush at first, but then succumbed to the pressure of seeing its main battle tanks being overwhelmed and promptly abandoned the remainder of their armored vehicles in place rather than fight on or effect combat maneuvering to escape from the ambush.

The Islamic State fighters were last seen driving off with the captured, Iraqi military assets that weren't left smoldering after the ambush. The report asked the question; What must the military leadership of the Hashemite kingdom of Jordon or of Saudi Arabia have thought of this stunning defeat of the Iraqi military? The question involves the fact that these Middle Eastern powers might well be the next on the list of the Islamic State aggressors who intend to establish their caliphate.

The other briefing dealt with things going on in and around Ukraine, with Russia bullying its way around the region. To me, at least, it seems Russian President Vladimir Putin's aggression is no less threatening than that being carried out by those in leadership of the Islamic State.

This briefing stated:

Russia has now deployed 10,000 to 12,000 troops along its border with Ukraine, just a month after it had withdrawn those troops to less than 1,000, a military officer with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization said Monday.

It has been stated by many observers of the Russian leader's maneuverings that they, in some ways, mimic those of the Nazi Führer prior to his dragging the entire world into war.

Just as troubling as the possibility that Russia might invade Ukraine and bring it within its orb as it was under the Soviet Union is the effect Putin's threat to Ukraine is having on Europe. The briefing states the following in this regard:

The Europeans demonstrate no stomach to further confront Moscow because of a potential energy backlash. The briefing says further:

Nine EU member states, among them Italy, Germany and France, are ready to block any attempt to increase sanctions on Russia during a summit July 16, a diplomatic source in the permanent office of an EU member state said July 15, Itar-Tass reported.

The Obama administration did offer up some degree of sanctions this past week, and Europe seemed to back them, but not with much resolve. Vladimir Putin, it is thought by many diplomatic observers, is neither deterred by nor worried much about these sanctioning actions.

Europe is desperate to hold on to oil and gas supply-from whatsoever the source. The people will freeze and dry up economically without a sure supply of energy. And, this is where prophetic aspects enter, in my view.

Israel is on the brink of being able to supply energy for Europe and other areas of the whole Mediterranean region. Its undersea gas reserves are enormous, according to reliable reports. The problem has been, of course, Israel's ability to transport from undersea to the land masses of Europe and beyond.

There should be little doubt that this nation, perhaps the top among technological innovators in the world today, will develop the means to put its tremendous gas reserves into use for its neighbors and beyond.

I personally sense that the development of this technological ability might be that "hook" of Ezekiel 38-39 that God sets in the jaw of a Russian leader. It just might be Israel's ability to compete with Russia and make energy available to those currently under Putin's all-controlling thumb that makes Gog think the "evil thought" and initiate the Gog-Magog war.

Their own god-Satan-no doubt purposely confuses his human minions to foment war among them to achieve his own ends. He is feverishly at work in the Middle East and Europe during this end of the age to bring about his own devilish kingdom. The God of heaven does not start wars; He does, however, use evil against evil to end them. He will do so in the case of the Islamists and the forces of Gog-Magog.
