A Prophetic Judgment Revisited on Mount Seir
Most who interested in prophecy and end-time events (eschatology) usually are focused on the prophecies of Isaiah 17, Psalm 83, Jeremiah 49 and Ezekiel 38 & 39. However, a lesser talked about prophecy concerning Judgment on Mount Seir (as well as all of Edom) could be one of the very next prophecies to be fulfilled.
Many believe that Ezekiel 35 was a stand-alone and already fulfilled prophecy, with the destruction of Edom and its capital city of Petra as prophesied in the book of Obadiah (written about 585 B.C.). It is thought by some to have been fulfilled in 312 BC when the Edomites were slaughtered by the Seleucid King Antigonus. As Bill Salus point out (in his book Revelation Road) this account did not involve the IDF ("by the hand of my people") at the time, so disqualifying it as an actual fulfillment of Ezekiel 25:14. Additionally, among other good points made by Salus, Ezekiel 35 begins with the word "moreover," which implies a continuation from Ezekiel Chapter 34. Ezekiel 34, concludes with an end-times' depiction of the Jews being re-gathered into Israel (being fulfilled today since 1948), restored as God's people, and being blessed. From other Scripture passages, we know that there is a regathering in unbelief in preparation for the judgment of the Tribulation, followed by a second worldwide regathering in faith in preparation for blessing during the Messianic Kingdom. If this is the case, then Ezekiel 35 is yet to be completely fulfilled.
Who specifically is the Mount Seir and Edom of Ezekiel 35? Ezekiel 35:15 says "O Mount Seir, as well as all of Edom," and then repeats, "all of it," alluding to the entirety of Edom. This would imply that Mount Seir encompasses more than Edom (which is largely the southern part of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan today). Ezekiel 36:1-5 identifies Mount Seir as the surrounding nations encircling Israel including "all Edom." The people groups and states all around Israel comprise (what Salus calls) the "inner-circle" of Arab states and terrorist populations, which are also listed in Psalm 83:6-8. This is in contrast to the "outer-ring," identified in Ezekiel 38:1-5 as the Gog of Magog coalition.
Thus, Ezekiel 35 may be another description of the war prophesied in Psalm 83 and Jeremiah 49:7-11. If this is true, then Ezekiel 35 specifically identifies the Arab countries that surround Israel today. These Arab countries (inner-circle) being:
Tents of Edom = [decedents of Esau] Palestinian Refugees and Southern Jordanians
Ishmaelites = Saudi Arabians
Moab = Palestinian Refugees and Central Jordanians
Hagrites = Egyptians
Gebal = Northern Lebanese
Ammon = Palestinian Refugees and Northern Jordanians
Amalek = Arabs South of Israel
Philista = Palestinian Refugees and Hamas of Gaza Strip
Inhabitants of Tyre = Hezbollah and Southern Lebanese
Assyria = Syrians and Northern Iraqis
Of these people groups and States, it is no surprise that the Palestinians, Lebanese (Hezbollah), Hamas, Syrians, Northern Iraqis and even Egyptians would be united toward the destruction of Israel. The two less likely, in my mind, were Saudi Arabia and Jordan. So how do all of these people groups and States become united of one accord against Israel, and what turns Saudi Arabia and Jordan against Israel to also be involved? Enter the ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) and their newly proclaimed Caliphate as the newly declared Islamic State, as the GAME CHANGER!

...so this gives us a good idea how Saudi Arabia and Jordan may end up under the rule of the Calph and part of the new Islamic State, and going to war with Israel.

As we near the fulfillment of many end-time prophecies, I believe God is revealing a clearer understanding of how all of these things may unfold. At this writing, the Ezekiel 35/Psalms 83 war seems like it will be lit by ISIS. Let's amplify Ezekiel 35 in light of the recent advent of the ISIS Caliphate State...
Ezekiel 35
Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, "Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir [all the surrounding nations and people groups encircling and threatening to destroy Israel] and prophesy against it, and say to it, 'Thus says the Lord God:
"Behold, O Mount Seir [greater Islamic Caliphate State - ISIS], I am against you;
I will stretch out My hand against you [through the IDF],
And make you most desolate;
I shall lay your cities waste [through empowering the IDF and giving them victory over you],
And you shall be desolate.
Then you shall know that I am the Lord.
"Because you have had an ancient hatred, and have shed the blood of the children of Israel [including the recent slaying by ISIS of the three Israeli boys Naftali Fraenkel, Eyal Yifrach and Gil-ad Shaar] by the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, when their iniquity came to an end, therefore, as I live," says the Lord God, "I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you; since you have not hated blood [and are guilty of shedding the innocent blood of these boys], therefore blood shall pursue you.
