The Common Core
Common Core is one in a long line of failures designed by the education elite who keep using our children as guinea pigs in new ways to teach thousand year old subjects. Math should be math, not an essay. English should be Shakespeare and Faulkner, not Holocaust denial. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
Sid Dinsdale Would Give Barack Obama a Blank Check
Sid Disdale is denying my claim that he would raise the debt ceiling. In fact, he went on radio last week saying he wasn't sure where I got that.
Well, I got it from Sid Dinsdale. He told local news in Nebraska he would always vote to raise the debt ceiling. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
David Plouffe Accuses A 'Delusional Minority' Of Wanting To Hold Him Accountable
As the investigation into what happened at our Benghazi consulate and the actions of the administration following its destruction gathers steam Obama's minions are trying to delegitimize any questions on the subject. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
The Irony of the GOP Polling Advantage
As the November midterms draw near, we are beginning to see a growing wave against Democrats, much like we witnessed at this time in 2010.
A new Pew poll gives Republicans a 4-point edge on the generic ballot test, which is significant given the fact that Democrats usually have a slight advantage even in a 50-50 year. They also found that Republicans have a crushing 16-point lead among Independents who are only down 4 among women. Furthermore, voters are still sour on Obamacare, Obama, and the economy. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?

Prayer Reaffirmed at the Supreme Court: Town of Greece v. Galloway
In a landmark decision yesterday, the Supreme Court reaffirmed that prayer before legislative meetings is constitutional.
In debunking one of the greatest myths in Establishment Clause jurisprudence, the Court held that not only is opening such meetings in prayer constitutional, it is not limited to a nonsectarian (i.e. generic) prayer. In other words, a prayer "in Jesus name" does not violate the Constitution. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
Gestational Surrogacy: Women For Lease, Children For Sale
The pro-life cause may have risen in direct response to the atrocity of medical abortion but it quickly embraced the cause of euthanasia and death via medical neglect. The next frontier of the movement should be a coordinated opposition to the idea of "gestational surrogacy," or, in lay terms, hiring a woman you don't really know to produce a baby for you. For a price. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
The Vine
If there is any issue the pro-life community must contend with alongside the fight for life, it is the constant efforts of pro-aborts to censor the truth about abortion and all issues abortion-related. While the SBA List has been fighting in the U.S. Supreme Court for their right to inform voters on the pro-abortion voting records of candidates, Google recently stepped up the game by banning ads from Crisis Pregnancy Centers. At RedState, lifeofgrace summed up the shocking move by Google perfectly.. . . please click here for the rest of the post ?

The Republican Establishment Would Rather Lose Nebraska Than Support Conservatives
The Republican Establishment always says conservative purists would rather lose than compromise. But the opposite is playing out in Nebraska.
The moment Ben Sasse got endorsed by the Senate Conservatives Fund, Mitch McConnell went all in for Shane Osborn. Well, Osborn is now toast. He has extremely high negatives, extreme negative poll numbers, and outside groups have just finished him off with an ad blasting his involvement in a made up military memo.
That leaves Sid Dinsdale who'd have you know he is a lifelong Republican despite years of significant giving to Democrats. Dinsdale too, however, is behind in the polls. Though he has poured a ton of personal money into the race, time is very short for him.
So it looks like a Mitch McConnell affiliated group has decided to soften Ben Sasse up for the Nebraska Democrats. In fact, they made the decision right about the time Ted Cruz and Mike Lee endorsed Sasse. They'd rather lose Nebraska than have a Ted Cruz ally in the Senate. They're engaged in a purity test of their own. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
Does Tom Cotton Want Democrats to Win?
Some inquiring media needs to ask Tom Cotton this question.
With Shane Osborn out of the running, Sid Dinsdale trailing, and Ben Sasse in the lead in Nebraska with little time left, Tom Cotton's campaign manager is running an ad campaign against Ben Sasse. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
Jay Carney Lies About The Benghazi Lie
Now that Speaker Boehner has finally taken an action that he should have taken two years ago - authorizing a select committee to investigate Benghazi - we might possibly wring from this White House a narrative that comports with facts.
On April 30, when Jay Carney experienced an epic roasting at the hands of ABC News' Jon Karl, most of us were focused on the utterly ludicrous claim by Carney that the memos unearthed by Judicial Watch were not about Benghazi. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
Retired Bishop Gene Robinson To Divorce
Gene Robinson, retired bishop of the Episcopalian diocese of New Hampshire, has decided to cap off a life devoted to placing the salvation of some Christians in jeopardy by adding yet another mortal sin to his already impressive list of accomplishments. Sid Dinsdale Won't Compromise On Abortion. He'll Just Set the Pro-Life Cause Aside.
When I called Sid Dinsdale "Planned Parenthood's Republican," he got all upset. In fact, he released a statement saying, in part
"I would never compromise on abortion and to insinuate otherwise, is nonsense."
Would You Let the IRS Do Your Taxes for You?
Why not let the IRS do our taxes for us?
Liberal wunderkind Ezra Klein (formerly of the Washington Post and now of Vox.com) was pushing this new idea a few weeks ago.
Well it wasn't really new. He's been pushing it for years. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?

I Gave $100 to Thom Tillis's Campaign
Whether he wins his nomination or not, I won't send even a penny to Tom Cotton in Arkansas unless he fires his campaign manager Justin Brasell. Brasell used Ben Sasse's children in a television commercial to attack Ben Sasse. Then, after producing and placing the ads, Brasell quit his PAC that placed the ads. What a cowardly thing to do. You'd think a guy like Tom Cotton who touts his military career and values would object to that, but Tom Cotton is keeping Justin Brasell on the payroll. So I won't give a penny to Cotton to subsidize Justin Brasell's income, whether Cotton becomes the nominee or not (and he will be).
But I am sending money to Thom Tillis whose candidacy I opposed in the North Carolina Republican Primary. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
Select Benghazi Congressional investigating committee announced.
Elections have consequences: "House Republicans have decided the select committee to investigate the Benghazi terror attack will include seven Republicans and five Democrats, according to two senior House GOP leadership aides." This is in stark contrast to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's eyebrow-raising demand that Democrats be given equal membership on said committee: it's an open question whether Pelosi will appoint anybody at all at this point. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
Justin Brasell, Tom Cotton's Campaign Manager, Puts Ben Sasse's Daughters in an Ad. To Attack Ben Sasse
Tom Cotton's campaign manager, Justin Brasell, just placed a hit job on Nebraska airwaves against Ben Sasse. Cotton, who is running for the U.S. Senate from Arkansas as a Republican, apparently has no problem with his campaign manager moonlighting to attack another Republican. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
CBS News President David Rhodes (Inadvertently) Exposes Obama's Benghazi Lie
Every day seems to bring another revelation that highlights the duplicity of the Obama administration in reporting to the nation on what went wrong in Benghazi.
As we've already documented, the talking points for Susan Rice's serial prevarications on the Sunday morning shows on September 16, 2012 were coordinated by Ben Rhodes. From what we know now, there was at no point at which anyone in the US government thought the attack on the Benghazi consulate was caused by a the internet video Innocence of Muslims. To the contrary, immediately everyone knew it was a planned and coordinated attack. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
The Fraudulent Crimean Referendum Exposed
Back a couple of months ago when Russian President Vladimir Putin, the new BFF of both the hate America movement and the American isolationist movement, gouged a large chunk of real estate from a neighboring nation, people like Ron Paul nearly messed themselves in their eagerness to assure us that Putin had international law on his side and self determination was a great thing. (Somehow, self-determination was not good for the majority of the Ukrainian people who threw off a fraudulently elected pro-Russian regime, but one gives up expecting logical and moral consistency from these people.) . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
Defeat the Left-Wing Feminist Museum!
As we noted last week, Republicans led by Rep. Marsha Blackburn are helping Democrats secure a spot on the National Mall to create a left-wing feminist museum. All of the main figures associated with the museum are professional liberals and long-time activists. We don't need our national parks being used to promote abortion, homosexual marriage, and people like Gloria Steinum and Rose Schneiderman. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?

Join Me in Fort Worth #RSG14
Six years ago, I suggested those of us who'd built a relationship online here at RedState get together in Atlanta for a drink. I put out an open call and 400 people decided they wanted to meet. Well, with weather and scheduling conflicts, it turned out to be 200 of us. We discussed politics, met like-minded RedStaters in person, and heard from elected officials and candidates who wanted our votes and wanted to change Washington.
We've come a long way from that first Gathering, and have grown in size but our focus remains the same. I know you get emails asking you to attend all kinds of different conferences throughout the year, and I recognize how valuable your vacation and family time is to you. I am inviting you, asking each of you to join me this year in Fort Worth at our 6th Annual RedState Gathering August 7-10th.
We have already confirmed Governor Rick Perry as our opening speaker on Friday morning and he is generously hosting Gathering attendees at a Texas-sized Welcome Reception at one of his favorite BBQ joints near the historic Fort Worth Stockyards on Thursday night.
We've confirmed Attorney General Greg Abbott who we have enthusiastically endorsed and will be the next Governor of Texas. Senator Ted Cruz will be joining us, as will State Representative Scott Turner who you need to meet in person and is running for Speaker of the Texas State House. He is a dynamic leader and a rising star.
Governor Bobby Jindal, who hosted us last year in New Orleans, will join us again as will Congressman Jim Bridenstine from Oklahoma. We have invited Governors Christie and Haley, Senators Mike Lee, Tim Scott, and Mark Rubio.
The Gathering is also unique because you get to meet and hear from RedState-endorsed candidates from around the country. These are our future leaders and they need grassroots support from people like us as they campaign against DC establishment politics and business as usual.
You also get to meet and interact with all the RedState Contributors that you read every day on the site. We keep the price to attend as low as possible, you can't beat $249 for early bird registration that includes three breakfasts, two lunches, and all the evening receptions. Our hotel rate at the Renaissance Worthington is a very low $129/night.
So take a moment to go to redstategathering.com and register today. Tweet me when you do using the hashtag #RSG14. I look forward to seeing you there. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
Call your Representatives: Ask them to support discharge of H.R. 3086
One of the great, lingering bipartisan achievements of the early days of the commercial Internet, was the moratorium on taxes on Internet access. We all know governments would love to slap all sorts of taxes on something just because it's new, and there. But in the Clinton era, Republicans and Democrats came together to stop that. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
House Rams Through Another Corporate Welfare Bill
We already have the Ex-Im bank, which ostensibly subsidizes foreign countries - often unfriendly ones - to purchase products sold by specific domestic companies. But even as conservatives seek to abolish it, the House is sneaking through reauthorization of its sister agency - Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) - under suspension. OPIC is in some sense the rear-view image of Ex-Im in that it subsidizes domestic companies to invest in foreign countries. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
Keep the Benghazi Select Committee Select

If You Live in Texas, Vote for Ken Paxton for Attorney General
Remember last year, when many Republicans in the Texas Legislature decided to pass a bill-supported by President Obama and Congressional Democrats at the federal level-requiring outside groups to disclose their donors to engage in political speech? Thankfully Governor Perry vetoed the bill, which would have stifled the free speech of all sorts of conservative organizations.
Fast forward to the current Texas Attorney General's race, and the vote on this bill becomes quite instructive. Ken Paxton voted against the bill. Dan Branch voted for it. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?

Sid Dinsdale, Deceptions, and Lack of Courage on the Campaign Trail
The Tea Party is dead.
It's so dead that even politicians who clearly do not share its ethos.co-opt the message and run with it on the campaign trail. In fact, no viable candidate can be caught running an ad that reflects anything counter to the message of the Tea Party in GOP primaries.
The latest example is Sid Dinsdale who is running for the U.S. Senate in Nebraska. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
Hillary Clinton And The Obama Administration's Coddling Of Boko Haram
There is no doubt that Nigeria's Boko Haram (which charmingly means "Western education is sinful") is a vicious terrorist organization. It is currently the center of an international melodrama as US and British military contingents have joined the hunt for some 230 Christian school girls kidnapped by Boko Haram with the intent of marrying them to Islamic terrorists. Yet, in what is looking like yet another major accomplishment for Hillary Clinton's State Department, Josh Rogin at The Daily Beast is reporting that Boko Haram was never listed as a terrorist organization until after John Kerry became Secretary of State . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
Crucifixions, Porn and Other Sick Perversions At The EPA
People hold varying opinions on whether Global Warming is occurring. They differ on whether it is a cataclysmic occurrence if it happens. People hold radically different opinions on what should and what can be done about the issue if it were to become a problem. However, I'd argue that anyone not infected with a pseudo-religious zealotry would be concerned if they knew the extent to which the US government agency that would be in charge of fighting Global Warming was a corrupt, disingenuous cesspool that held itself aloof from any pretext of being subject to the law. While being corrupt, the EPA also manages to be self-righteous. It was PJ O'Rourke who once argued that there is nothing more frightening than a knave with a moral justification for their cause. . . . please click here for the rest of the post ?
