RUSSIAN UPDATE: 5.2.14

It's not Russia that's pushed Ukraine to the brink of war - Seumas Milne - http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/apr/30/russia-ukraine-war-kiev-conflict/print

The attempt to lever Kiev into the western camp by ousting an elected leader made conflict certain. It could be a threat to us all

The threat of war in Ukraine is growing. As the unelected government in Kiev declares itself unable to control the rebellion in the country's east, John Kerry brands Russia a rogue state. The US and the European Union step up sanctions against the Kremlin, accusing it of destabilizing Ukraine. The White House is reported to be set on a new cold war policy with the aim of turning Russia into a "pariah state".

That might be more explicable if what is going on in eastern Ukraine now were not the mirror image of what took place in Kiev a couple of months ago. Then, it was armed protesters in Maidan Square seizing government buildings and demanding a change of government and constitution. US and European leaders championed the "masked militants" and denounced the elected government for its crackdown, just as they now back the unelected government's use of force against rebels occupying police stations and town halls in cities such as Slavyansk and Donetsk.

"America is with you," Senator John McCain told demonstrators then, standing shoulder to shoulder with the leader of the far-right Svoboda party as the US ambassador haggled with the state department over who would make up the new Ukrainian government.

When the Ukrainian president was replaced by a US-selected administration, in an entirely unconstitutional takeover, politicians such as William Hague brazenly misled parliament about the legality of what had taken place: the imposition of a pro-western government on Russia's most neuralgic and politically divided neighbor.

Putin bit back, taking a leaf out of the US street-protest playbook - even though, as in Kiev, the protests that spread from Crimea to eastern Ukraine evidently have mass support. But what had been a glorious cry for freedom in Kiev became infiltration and insatiable aggression in Sevastopol and Luhansk.

After Crimeans voted overwhelmingly to join Russia, the bulk of the western media abandoned any hint of even-handed coverage. So Putin is now routinely compared to Hitler, while the role of the fascistic right on the streets and in the new Ukrainian regime has been airbrushed out of most reporting as Putinist propaganda.

So you don't hear much about the Ukrainian government's veneration of wartime Nazi collaborators and pogromists, or the arson attacks on the homes and offices of elected communist leaders, or the integration of the extreme Right Sector into the national guard, while the anti-Semitism and white supremacism of the government's ultra-nationalists is assiduously played down, and false identifications of Russian special forces are relayed as fact.

The reality is that, after two decades of eastward Nato expansion, this crisis was triggered by the west's attempt to pull Ukraine decisively into its orbit and defense structure, via an explicitly anti-Moscow EU association agreement. Its rejection led to the Maidan protests and the installation of an anti-Russian administration - rejected by half the country - that went on to sign the EU and International Monetary Fund agreements regardless.

No Russian government could have acquiesced in such a threat from territory that was at the heart of both Russia and the Soviet Union. Putin's absorption of Crimea and support for the rebellion in eastern Ukraine is clearly defensive, and the red line now drawn: the east of Ukraine, at least, is not going to be swallowed up by Nato or the EU.

But the dangers are also multiplying. Ukraine has shown itself to be barely a functioning state: the former government was unable to clear Maidan, and the western-backed regime is "helpless" against the protests in the Soviet-nostalgic industrial east. For all the talk about the paramilitary "green men" (who turn out to be overwhelmingly Ukrainian), the rebellion also has strong social and democratic demands: who would argue against a referendum on autonomy and elected governors?

Meanwhile, the US and its European allies impose sanctions and dictate terms to Russia and its protégés in Kiev, encouraging the military crackdown on protesters after visits from Joe Biden and the CIA director, John Brennan. But by what right is the US involved at all, incorporating under its strategic umbrella a state that has never been a member of Nato, and whose last elected government came to power on a platform of explicit neutrality? It has none, of course - which is why the Ukraine crisis is seen in such a different light across most of the world. There may be few global takers for Putin's oligarchic conservatism and nationalism, but Russia's counterweight to US imperial expansion is welcomed, from China to Brazil.

In fact, one outcome of the crisis is likely to be a closer alliance between China and Russia, as the US continues its anti-Chinese "pivot" to Asia. And despite growing violence, the cost in lives of Russia's arms-length involvement in Ukraine has so far been minimal compared with any significant western intervention you care to think of for decades.

The risk of civil war is nevertheless growing, and with it the chances of outside powers being drawn into the conflict. Barack Obama has already sent token forces to eastern Europe and is under pressure, both from Republicans and Nato hawks such as Poland, to send many more. Both US and British troops are due to take part in Nato military exercises in Ukraine this summer.

The US and EU have already overplayed their hand in Ukraine. Neither Russia nor the western powers may want to intervene directly, and the Ukrainian prime minister's conjuring up of a third world war presumably isn't authorized by his Washington sponsors. But a century after 1914, the risk of unintended consequences should be obvious enough - as the threat of a return of big-power conflict grows. Pressure for a negotiated end to the crisis is essential.

Putin and the New World Order: The Final Turning Point - By Paul McGuire - http://www.newswithviews.com/McGuire/paul210.htm

We have now arrived at the final turning point for America and human history. There exists a convergence and acceleration of forces that is unprecedented in the history of civilization. These forces are economic, geopolitical, scientific, technological, cultural, moral, and spiritual. For the ordinary man or woman these forces can be appear overwhelming, as if a giant tsunami is about to drown everything they ever knew or dreamed of. It is at this exact moment that every one of us is confronted with a choice to allow ourselves to be overcome by fear and a growing mob hysteria or to take a deep breath and recognize that we have been called before the beginning of the world for such a time as this.

We are constantly being bombarded by media images designed to deliberately accelerate a rip tide of emotional chaos. The internal and external chaos are part of an ancient plan to bring about a new world order. Those behind the plan have a motto: "order out of chaos" or "new world order out of chaos." Former US Ambassador to Iraq and Korea Christopher R. Hill says that Russia's military response to the Ukraine crisis means that Moscow has betrayed the "new world order" that it has been a part of for the last 25 years. He wrote in the prestigious Project Syndicate that Russia's annexation of Crimea and "intimidation" campaign against Kiev has brought an end to a 25-year historical period. Hill describes Russia's part in the "new world order" as her post-Glasnost involvement in "Western institutions, and a market economy."

Hill writes that "Russia's acquiescence and commitment to the 'new world order,' however problematic, was one of the great accomplishments of the post-Cold War era." This term "new world order" has been used by men like George Bush, Henry Kissinger, Zbigniew Brzenski, George Soros, and David Rockefeller, along with others of the globalist elite who rule the world through the international banking system and military force. This is the same new world order whose name and symbol is on the back of the U.S. dollar which is now being devalued. On the back of the pyramid we see a prominent occult symbol... the pyramid with the all-seeing eye of Lucifer above the top and on the base the words in Latin "Novus Ordo Seclorum," which means new order of the ages or new world order.

Unlike our Orwellian news pundits who are paid to deny the reality of this new world order, our Founding Fathers like Jefferson and Washington wrote about the new world order, the Illuminati, and the dangers of central banks, which controlled the nations of Europe. It was not an accident that the Illuminati was officially formed in 1776, the same year that the United States of America was born. Not only did our Founding Fathers write at length about the danger of the Illuminati and its new world order attempting to control the United States through central banks, but highly educated and respected men, including prominent clergy, journalists, and the heads of Ivy league universities warned of the dangers of this new world order.

This is in complete contrast to today where journalists, politicians and prominent members of the clergy shriek on cue the term "conspiracy theory" whenever the term new world order is brought up. The gravest fears of our Founding Fathers came true when these powerful banking families like Rothschilds, Rockefellers, J.P Morgan, and others seized control of our monetary system through the passage of the Federal Reserve Act of 1913. The Federal Reserve System was a carefully crafted term for the Central Banks of Europe operating under a different name.

Here are just a few quotes about how the international bankers who run this new world order use money and the financial system to control our nation for their benefit. It should be remembered that it was the Rothschild banking family which funded the Illuminati and created the system of banking institutions which run this new world order.

"The few who understand the system, will either be so interested from its profits or so dependent on its favors, that there will be no opposition from that class." -Rothschild Brothers of London, 1863

"Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes its laws." -Mayer Amschel Bauer Rothschild

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. Already they have raised up a monied aristocracy that has set the government at defiance. The issuing power (of money) should be taken away from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs." -Thomas Jefferson, U.S. President.

"If Congress has the right [it doesn't] to issue paper money [currency], it was given to them to be used by...[the government] and not to be delegated to individuals or corporations." -President Andrew Jackson, who vetoed the Bank Bill of 1836.

"History records that the money changers have used every form of abuse, intrigue, deceit, and violent means possible to maintain their control over governments by controlling money and its issuance." -James Madison

"Should government refrain from regulation (taxation), the worthlessness of the money becomes apparent and the FRAUD can no longer be concealed." British Lord John Maynard Keynes (the father of 'Keynesian Economics' which our nation now endures) in his book "THE ECONOMIC CONSEQUENCES OF THE PEACE" (1920).

"But if in the pursuit of the means we should unfortunately stumble again on unfunded paper money or any similar species of fraud, we shall assuredly give a fatal stab to our national credit in its infancy. Paper money will invariably operate in the body of politics as spirit liquors on the human body. They prey on the vitals and ultimately destroy them. Paper money has had the effect in your state that it will ever have, to ruin commerce, oppress the honest, and open the door to every species of fraud and injustice." -George Washington in a letter to Jabez Bowen, Rhode Island, Jan. 9, 1787

"To expose a 15 Trillion dollar ripoff of the American people by the stockholders of the 1000 largest corporations over the last 100 years will be a tall order of business." -Buckminster Fuller, the creator of Spaceship Earth

"Every Congressman, every Senator knows precisely what causes inflation...but can't, [won't] support the drastic reforms to stop it [repeal of the Federal Reserve Act] because it could cost him his job." -Robert A. Heinlein, Expanded Universe

"It is well that the people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning." -Henry Ford

At the foundation of the United States, Benjamin Franklin, President George Washington, and Alexander Hamilton attempted to develop an American economic system relatively free from the intrusion of the international banking families of Europe who used what Fabian Socialist Bertrand Russell termed "perpetual warfare" to rule the nations. World War I and World II were about the control of the international monetary system by these international bankers, as will World War III if we cannot prevent it.

The expansion of NATO to Russia's borders and the possibility of 10,000 American troops in Poland and the U.S.-NATO ballistic missile defense system positioned against Russia are threats that could provoke a regional thermonuclear war and World War III. In addition, economic sanctions by Europe and the U.S. such as cutting Russia off from dollars, euros and sterling would negatively impact Russia's profits from oil and gas imports. These actions along with cutting off credit lines to Russia would create enormous pressure on Russia and on Europe, which relies on Russian / Iranian gas and oil. This sets the stage for an Ezekiel 38 scenario described by that prophet in the Old Testament. In this scenario, also known as the War of God and Magog, Russia, in an alliance with Iran and other Middle Eastern nations, invades Israel and is destroyed by hailstones, earthquakes, and other apparently supernatural means. This war could create a major shift in the current world order, especially if Russia and the nations controlled by Militant Islam are seriously reduced in power. Another possibility could be that before the break out of an Ezekiel 38 conflict, a world charismatic leader arises and negotiates a peace treaty preventing such a conflict.

Either scenario would propel the world into what the Prophet Daniel called the "Fourth Beast" or the "Revived Roman Empire." In secular terms this "Revived Roman Empire" would be the final phase, the completion of the new world order. Under the "Revived Roman Empire" a one world government, one world economic system, and one world religion would be established and thus "order out of chaos" or a "new world order out of chaos" would come into being. This is the end game for the Illuminati because under this new order they would rule the world under a Pharaoh god-king system where the rest of Mankind would serve them as slaves of a global feudal system.

As in ancient times, slaves will marked by a tattoo or branded by their masters. Under this "Revived Roman Empire" all of Mankind would be branded by what is referred to as the "Mark of the Beast," which is a microchip, nano-chip or bio-chip implant; a person would not be able to buy or sell or participate in the economic system without receiving this chip implant. In addition, the chip would be the ultimate technology of control. This Mark of the Beast or microchip implant would feature an RFID transmitter, a computer-brain interface which would be connected to a world brain using super artificial intelligence.

In its bare essence this final phase of the new world order is a counterfeit of the Kingdom of Heaven. The question for all of us to ask is how do we prepare ourselves for its arrival? When chaos breaks out, as it certainly will, will you lose your head in the mass hysteria or will you be able to summon the courage to rise above the chaos and survive? Ultimately, this will require a personal transcendence and this is only possible for those who choose to reach beyond this present dimension into the dimension of the Creator.

Russian and Ukrainian armies shaping up for initial military clash over Slavyansk - http://www.debka.com/article/23874/Russian-and-Ukrainian-armies-shaping-up-for-initial-military-clash-over-Slavyansk

Russia and Ukraine were heading Sunday, April 27, for their first battle over the rebel-held flashpoint town of Slavyansk, debkafile's military and US sources report. The outcome will determine who controls the Donetsk region and possibly all of East of Ukraine - the separatists or the provisional government in Kiev.

With a superior, professional and well-trained force armed with a preponderance of fire power, the Kremlin has several options to choose from for this engagement:

1. To order the 11,000 troops, based at Rostov on Don 40 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, to cross over and head for Slavyansk and Donetsk.

2.  To send a tank column against the 15,000 Ukrainian troops deployed over the weekend around Slavyansk. According to Russian sources, the force from Kiev is armed with 160 tanks, 230 armored personnel carriers and 150 pieces of artillery and missiles.

 3.  To send warplanes and helicopters from the giant Russian airbase of Tsentralniy - a prospect gaining ground in recent hours. This action would broaden the engagement into a major war operation between Russia and Ukraine.

 4.  Moscow, Kiev and their backers may understand how such a war began, but once it is under way, no one can tell how it will end.

 5. In the event of a major escalation, Moscow ill have to decide whether to throw into battle the special rapid deployment and paratroop units stationed at Tsentralniy, which are held ready for intervention in the Middle East and are now in reserve for action in Ukraine.

 6.  The Kremlin must decide whether to go for an overall invasion of Ukraine. debkafile's military sources report that the force poised on the border is smaller than the 40,000 estimated by Kiev. It consists of 15,000 armored corps soldiers with T-72B tanks and one division each of infantry and paratroops.

A Russian invasion would bring about the partition of Ukraine between the Russian-controlled East + Crimea and the sector ruled by the pro-Western administration of Kiev.

Moscow would find it hard to present this as a "peacekeeping" or "humanitarian" operation.

For Kiev, it might be the last straw that undermines its already shaky rule.

The Ukrainian army's capacity to beat the Russian invaders, or even stop them in their tracks, is close to nil. Its threat to blockade the more than a dozen towns where separatists are entrenched in official buildings is unconvincing.

Indeed, the Kiev government faces five fairly dismal prospects once a militlary collision begins:

a)   A full-blown military clash will test the limits of US and European readiness to come to its aid against Russian forces. The US and NATO are more likely to pitch in with condemnations and sanctions than by sending troops to the rescue. The Ukrainian government would find itself exposed as incapable of defending itself and bereft of effective international protectors.

b)  The Ukraine government has not been able to summon up international financial or economic assistance.

 c)  The 15,000 troops concentrated at Slavyansk have more or less scraped the bottom of the barrel of Ukraine's operational military assets. The 150,000-strong army is sizeable enough but it is not ready for war, and the loyalty of most units and their officers to the Kiev regime is questionable.

 d)  If the Ukrainian government opts nonetheless to enter into a lengthy battle with an invading Russian force, it will play into the hands of Moscow, which strongly objects to the May 25 general election. Any delay would further undermine the stability of the interim regime in Kiev.

 e)  The Obama administration would find itself in difficult straits. President Barack Obama has repeatedly warned Moscow of "costs" for failing to restrain the pro-Russian separatists' advances in Ukraine or pull its army back from the border.

He is finding it harder than ever to follow through on a concerted US-European economic and military challenge to Russia's military steps in and around Ukraine.

In a round of phone calls to British, French, German and Italian leaders Friday, Obama met reluctance on their part to join aggressive sanctions against Moscow over its threats to Ukraine, when they were weighed against the heavy costs to the deep and longstanding trade ties and business partnerships that Europe has developed with Russia.

Obama managed to persuade the G7 to agree on another round of penalties for Moscow but had to delay the announcement of specifics to Monday, April 28.

This frustration was registered in Obama's remarks in Kuala Lumpur Sunday: The United States will be in a stronger position to deter Vladimir Putin once he sees the world is unified in sanctioning Russia, he said. Russia isn't abiding by a deal reached to de-escalate the conflict. "Russia has not lifted a finger to help" he said and stressed: "The US and Europe must act collectively."

But America's allies have made it clear that a broad international coalition for a strong stand against Russia will not be forthcoming. President Obama is left with the option of striking almost alone, or climbing down from his threats.
